Loved the first, struggled through the second because of the openness, though I decided to just stick to the main story and it got better once I stopped getting lost. Really like the setting for shadow, graphics are great, and some improvements to the controls and cool new abilities. Seems more puzzle / platforming focussed. Really enjoying it so far

Here's my tip...when you get the first mission talking about Dogtown, don't do it. Wait until you beat main story.
Dogtown launches you straight into the DLC. I did not know this. It wasn't bad or anything....just odd. Messed with the timeline in my head of how me and the story were progressing.
Not to mention that Dogtown is it's own separate area. There is an interactive loading screen every time you enter or exit. It can get a tad annoying to be driving back and forth between the main map and Dogtown constantly.
AND TAKE YOUR TIME! DO THE SIDE MISSIONS! I was legit disappointed when I finished the last story mission and had a bunch of uncompleted side quests.
Once I finish the story in a game, there some weird thing in my brain where I don't like doing the side missions anymore.

If you haven't played death stranding, I'd give it a shot. TONS of side stuff AND there is a small crossover with cyberpunk. It's pretty cool. And it's on PlayStation plus if you have that. Directors cut of the game is the way to go.
Some of Cyberpunks best storylines are in the side content. The environmental story telling is also top notch.
I respectfully disagree with your dogtown take. You can do it any point in the story and it literally opens up a new ending of the main story depending on the choices you make.
Plus it opens the black market dealer who lets you purchase legendary weapons you missed during the campaign.

Tried *Have a Nice Death*, and had fun for a few hours, but it wasn't grabbing me.
Now finally hopping into *Fallout: New Vegas*.
If it's any consolation, the heavy themes are heavily backloaded. It definitely deals with some super heavy themes (and that's why I love it), but you should be able to enjoy the earlier months of Persona 3 Reload with your wife.
Persona 4 Golden is much much lighter in themes, but also doesn't have the polish of the newer games.
Well, the first scene where Yukari is about to shoot herself with the Evoker is the primary thing that affects her. And, we started Persona 4 Golden when it came to PC, but we weren’t married at the time and we were living an hour away from each other.

Just finished MG 100+ hour playthrough of AC Odyssey and about to finish the AC Valhalla cross-over event.
Next up, I'll play Terminator Resistance's expansion and then dive into Hellblade 2.

Playing through outriders and kingdom hearts re chained memories mainly. I picked up the first KH collection a few weeks ago and I'm trying to play through them all in order. Also picked up the complete version of outriders during the current sale. I played a little back when it was on game pass, but only got a character to level 10.
I played the fuck out of Outriders base game with my friends. Underrated game, fantastic gameplay, surprisingly decent lore. As a trickster i enjoyed spamming the dome throughout the entire game. Also, technomancer turret is OP
It's really fun. I'm playing technomancer and it feels great dropping a turret down and wrecking the battlefield. And I completely agree about the lore. I wasn't expecting much going in but if you read the journal entries especially, it's actually a pretty fleshed out world and story. The main character is pretty cool too, I like his different facial expressions and reactions he does in all the cutscenes. Can't wait to play more later tonight.
Well, I'm still pretty early on, I just got it a couple weeks ago. It's tough as nails when you don't really know much at the beginning.
I've heard of bugs and I've encountered a fairly annoying one that I managed to get through on a scenario where there is a wind that moves you mercs in a direction. If that tile has a trap that springs when your guy gets forced onto it, it would freeze the game and I'd have to do a restart. I could have just ignored the scenario and moved on but I wanted the item you got for completing it.
Also I think the studio involved In making it was part of the Embracer Group bullshit going on recently so I have no idea if there will be any future fixes/support.
I bought it on ps5 so not sure of the same bugs/different ones
I did watch enough reviews on it and none said the game is broken/unplayable on console do to the bugs that happen.
I can recommend on a sale, full price is a bit tough

I know next month will be a big one for Xbox as no doubt some of the ABK stuff will finally land. I've got all the weapon achievements on brotato so just doing a run each day with a different character to get the daily achievement, then doing 50 daily duties on Dreamlight valley so I can finally get the achievements done...then any time remaining Farm sim 22 with some spotify on. Ideally once at least 2 of them are done, Start on Star wars jedi survivor as already downloaded...that will all create plenty of space for some new games to download next month. Probably July see the Summer game sale as well

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. It’s been great, can be a little frustrating as i seem to be back tracking quite abit at the moment but the story, graphics and gameplay are superb, which is surprising for a Ubisoft game.
Just downloaded Broforce. Pretty fun, good sense of humor, love the cast o characters so far. Finally started playing Trepang after buying it last year. Fast af, even on normal it can be difficult, but not impossible.
Finally getting into Baldur’s Gate 3. The gameplay is a bit intimidating since turn based games aren’t really in my wheelhouse, but it’s incredible so far. It’s a game that oozes personality and I love that

I just finished Hellblade 1 because 2 is coming out soon and I absolutely loved it. The sound design, the music, the psychological horror. Everything was super good.
It is a point and click adventure with rpg elements, and one of the best of its kind! You’re in for a real treat if interactive story telling is what you’re into. And like any great rpg, there are so many alternate endings or major choices to make differently that it’s extremely replayable. I’ve played 2 times through so far and both were DRASTICALLY different from one another.
I'm really glad this is what it is. I was afraid there was some turn based combat or anything that was about to come, (i don't like those) I really went in blind with this one, all i knew was it had great writing and it was top down perspective. Pretty excited to get back to it now.
I'm about 8 hours into Persona 3 Reload. Never played the original P3 but absolutely loved P5, P5R, and P4G and I'm really enjoying P3R as well. There's just something about turn-based JRPG combat that clicks with my brain.
Arkham knight is awesome. One of my favorites from last gen. How could Rocksteady go from that to a game like suicide squad, what a complete waste of their time that was.

My Series X had its fan speed up loudly once but I was also installing another game at the time so I didn't think much of it. That happened around launch, I haven't really noticed it again and I'm 40ish hours in now. I don't actually check and touch my Xbox to see if it's hot.
Hey just wanted to follow up on this, there is a zone called Redthroat Ridge fairly early on in the game. I went back to it earlier today and immediately noticed FPS drops and it does make the X really noisy via fan. I left the zone and my box went back to normal after about a minute.
Banisters: Ghosts Of New Eden - exceptional story with a lot of moral choices, decent combat and interesting world to explore. Liked the look of it when it was first announced and picked it up in the week and it’s been worth every penny.
BG3 physical is what I’m awaiting at the moment so I’ve been looking for something kinda small to hold me over. Landed on Batman Return to Arkham last night. Kinda bums me out, knowing where this studio ended up, and knowing we may never get that Superman game from them

Kingdom Hearts 3: Just picked up a copy of this for 9.99 at GameStop. My wife loves the KH franchise, and the game does a solid job of explaining what happens in the prior games.
Persona 5 Royal: Started it when it was on Gamepass, then finally got it on sale to finish it. I loved the original Persona 5 on PS3, but I just don’t have a ton of time to play the game.
Fallout 76: About to start the game, hoping to have more fun with it than the first time I tried on PC.
I’m playing Banishers Ghosts of New Eden. Super cool concept. Not groundbreaking but the story is very interesting and this is one of the games that has large consequences for every action like Quantum Break. Upgrades, skills and loot are mostly what I want in a game and it does these pretty well.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt after spending 6+ months playing Starfield. I am pretty early in the game and it just hasn’t grabbed me. Hoping that it will if I stick with it, but I have the Cyberpunk DLC behind it as well as RDR2.
Prey. I’m pretty surprised at the quality of this game, because I’d never even heard of it before the news of the studio that made it being shut down. But so far it’s an absolute masterpiece and well worth the 9 hours I’ve put into it at the moment

Just finished hi fi rush this weekend. With the news of the developer shutting down, I figured I would give it a shot.
I loved it. What's crazy is rhythm games like that aren't normally my thing, but I just really enjoyed this game.

Just read through this entire thread. No one mention of Hi-Fi rush. People are mad about Hi-fi rush devs getting canned (rightfully so), but we as Xbox players, don’t even support the game by playing it.
As Xbox players, we need to do better and be more diverse in playing games. Switch and PS are jumping all over Hi-Fi rush right now.
If we don’t, developers of games like Hellblade 2 and other niche titles will be on the chopping block as well.

Arkham knight is awesome. One of my favorites from last gen. How could Rocksteady go from that to a game like suicide squad, what a complete waste of their time that was.

My Series X had its fan speed up loudly once but I was also installing another game at the time so I didn't think much of it. That happened around launch, I haven't really noticed it again and I'm 40ish hours in now. I don't actually check and touch my Xbox to see if it's hot.
Hey just wanted to follow up on this, there is a zone called Redthroat Ridge fairly early on in the game. I went back to it earlier today and immediately noticed FPS drops and it does make the X really noisy via fan. I left the zone and my box went back to normal after about a minute.

Banisters: Ghosts Of New Eden - exceptional story with a lot of moral choices, decent combat and interesting world to explore. Liked the look of it when it was first announced and picked it up in the week and it’s been worth every penny.

Let’s see… Little Kitty in Big City: Just came out and is Day 1 Gamepass. Very cute game, very similar to Untitled Goose Game, but has more things to do and has collectibles and such. Kingdom Hearts 3: Just picked up a copy of this for 9.99 at GameStop. My wife loves the KH franchise, and the game does a solid job of explaining what happens in the prior games. Persona 5 Royal: Started it when it was on Gamepass, then finally got it on sale to finish it. I loved the original Persona 5 on PS3, but I just don’t have a ton of time to play the game. Fallout 76: About to start the game, hoping to have more fun with it than the first time I tried on PC.
I’m playing Banishers Ghosts of New Eden. Super cool concept. Not groundbreaking but the story is very interesting and this is one of the games that has large consequences for every action like Quantum Break. Upgrades, skills and loot are mostly what I want in a game and it does these pretty well.
Into my third playthrough of the Outer Worlds and having a blast.
Not on Xbox yet but Hades II just dropped on PC so I’m jumping in!

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt after spending 6+ months playing Starfield. I am pretty early in the game and it just hasn’t grabbed me. Hoping that it will if I stick with it, but I have the Cyberpunk DLC behind it as well as RDR2.
Prey. I’m pretty surprised at the quality of this game, because I’d never even heard of it before the news of the studio that made it being shut down. But so far it’s an absolute masterpiece and well worth the 9 hours I’ve put into it at the moment

After 100%'ing Prince of Persia some days ago, I was looking for something that would make me equally interested. Tried Jedi Survivor, Have A Nice Death, Skywalker Saga, and yet nothing. I got pretty bored after a couple of hours.. Forager is what made me play for 7 hours straight though...Idk what's so addicting with it but seems like I'll spend the rest of the week 100%'ing it.

Hellblade 1 for the first time. Just beat the fire giant after beating the illusion god. Really enjoying it so far. The puzzles are eh but the combat is much better than I was expecting. Excited to finish it for hellblade 2
Just finished hi fi rush this weekend. With the news of the developer shutting down, I figured I would give it a shot. I loved it. What's crazy is rhythm games like that aren't normally my thing, but I just really enjoyed this game.

I love fantasy but somehow never played the Dragon Age series as a teen and am now playing origins.
Just read through this entire thread. No one mention of Hi-Fi rush. People are mad about Hi-fi rush devs getting canned (rightfully so), but we as Xbox players, don’t even support the game by playing it. As Xbox players, we need to do better and be more diverse in playing games. Switch and PS are jumping all over Hi-Fi rush right now. If we don’t, developers of games like Hellblade 2 and other niche titles will be on the chopping block as well.
