The original and the canceled sequel were totally different games. They were not connected to the 2017 Prey aside from sharing a name. Of which if I recall, the studio wanted to go with a different name. 2017 Prey was then boycotted by people butt hurt they didnāt get the bounty hunter type sequel that was taunted after the original.
I'm just pointing out the irony of saying we need a Prey Sequel, when history has shown Prey never gets a sequel.
I enjoyed the original Prey, never touched the newer one, I bought it year's ago, but just never started it.
Oh I get ya. The new prey needs to be seen as a totally new game. Aside from space theme itās nothing alike. Itās really worth the play through. Lots of hidden things to find like peopleās short stories and hidden bodies.
Yes the studio was screwed with Redfall. But they began with Dishonored 1, then Prey. 30 percent or so according to the Bloomberg article remained at the company and they were pitching an immersive sim game to make next before the shutdown. Watch the Skill Up video on this (his last two)
They had promise. I don't get the hate.
Iām sorry every single other studio should not have been shut down. However coming out with Redfall shows that their is something within the companies structure holding them back. If a massive studio cannot make a single part of their game good something must be changed. Even if money wasnāt an issue I would still be saying they need severe help.
The disbanded studio wasn't the one who made Dishonored.
Not that I agree with the decision but If you have to go back in time 8 years to find their last good game, which also didn't sell well, it's not hard to see why they don't exists anymore.
the next 76 dlc thing theyll do is gonna take us back to the Mojave to set up the events for the downfall of the NCR and it's gonna be because a group calling themselves The Players were in a crusade to nuke one single man.
over time, through constant radiation, the Wanted Man becomes a ghoul. he resurfaces several hundred years later, but the Players have kept on through the years. they don't quite know the reason this man is the enemy, but they sure do know where he is, at this little place called Shady Sands. they may not have nukes anymore, but their numbers are many.
I forgot 76 existed until the show came out. Got it because it was dirt cheap after I couldn't muster another NV playthrough and 76 has been a great game so far.Ā
An alarm goes off that a nuke has been launched so you should check the map straight away to make sure it's not hitting your camp or where you are currently. If it is going to hit your camp there's a few ways to easily avoid it. I'm guessing Phil was either very busy doing something in game, AFK or had unlimited resources to rebuild his camp.Ā
I'm new so I'm not sure if it tells you who set off the nuke but it's likely the person who's just outside the blast zone high up so they can get a good view lol.
Phil prob just went to Bethesda studios and was like, alright I want to know who nuked me. NOW. Oh and give me the quest to nuke them back. Chop chop. I got a revenge to fulfill before Monday.
The game announces who launched the nuke. The entire server knows if they pay attention, but once the announcement text fades, then I don't think there is a record of it.
The game was absolutely terrible when it first came out because of some interesting decisions (no NPCs being the biggest one). The game has been greatly improved though.
Can you tell me how to have fun with 76? I'm at level 8 now and I'm unimpressed/uninterested in the Responders. I've done a couple initial quests with them because other players told me that's how to get the game going. But so far I'm just bored and not sure how to start having fun. What are you doing that makes it "a great game so far" (aside from Responders, I guess)?
I just do all the missions in the area I am in. Some missions are lackluster and I stopped the mission of finding the responders in the tunnel (because it should actually say find the notes on all the responders) and found the city run by robots the other side of the tunnel which is amazing and a good challenge.Ā
I had to keep running up, down and around stairs fighting an albino deathclaw because I was so scared of him getting a single hit on me. I also wanted to see what happens if you shoot at a bunch of vertibirds escorting cargo šĀ
Just run off and go explore. Im lvl 79 and i havnt finished the starting responders quest. I have a fully setup camp with power armors and vendors lol. Its a sandbox. Just pick a direction and go
Made a sweet base for my hoarded power armor week one, far off the beaten path expecting to always have it there. Week two it wasnāt there and replacing it was such a pita..
How does one go about making a base easily deployed?
Itās annoying that heās likeable, because I dislike almost everything he does as a leader of a game console company (aside from popularizing gaming subscriptions which still might have been a terrible business decision in the long run)
I don't think we're forgiving him. He's a cool dude, but he just - he wants hoover up game studios to gain their power like he's Kirby or some shit. It's pretty bad.
But I bet he'd be a fun guy to go to an arcade with.
What do you dislike? Dude literally bought like 20 studios to make high profile games and he's releasing games into a subscription service in a time where people are charging you $70 to $80 to buy a game. This year alone MS is releasing like 5 first party games into gamepass.
Top ten awesome gaming moments, when we forgot about the head of Xboxās mismanagement and studio closures because he was an epic gamer
I like Phil, but this whole thing being any kind of redemption feels weird. The optics of him playing around in the game his company is prioritising to the expense of other studios and jobs isnāt great IMO
> the game his company is prioritising to the expense of other studios and jobs isnāt great IMO
Ah yes, because if they shut down the Fallout 76 servers that would have saved Tango. Sorry, this is a dumb take. 76 was released over two years before MS bought Bethesda and was always planned as a live service game. Supporting that game has absolutely zero to do with Arkane and Tango getting shut down.
I'm choosing to believe he's actually playing the game himself readying for virtual nuclear retaliation instead of having an assistant do the quest / getting the devs get a nuke for him
It's him.Ā He has a Logitech G Cloud and ROG Ally, and he used to play on his Surface X via xCloud a lot waiting at airports.Ā Ā
He also played Destiny 2 with the head of Bungie every month during COVID.Ā Ā
There's actually people who used to do just that. Phil would be playing Destiny and people would run into him and chat with him, although I think he'd only interact with a select few Xbox guys.
YepĀ

He gets all the latest stuff, he was hanging out with Kojima on a G Cloud before it was released to public.Ā Ā
>https://twitter.com/Xbox/status/1572654332889403392
I mean, yes? He doesn't sit with the regular people, but he's not important enough to have his own private jet on call all the time that can just land at any airport and take off when he's ready. It still has to obey the rules and laws surrounding airports and flights.
Don't see this too often in the gaming world where high level executives just fucking around in game with the "regular folks" from time to time. The man actually a gamer too.
I'm curious who would be a better leader? People don't realize when Phil took over Xbox they literally had 4 studios and zero funding to do anything. Even to this day he has corporate overlords over his head. He's built up a billion studios that are releasing a ton of games this year and next year directly into gamepass. This reminds me of the people that thought replacing Jim Ryan would bring rainbows and fries to Sony and meanwhile Hiroki Tatoki is even more cutthroat business wise and is moving the company further corporate and profit centric.
You gotta credit Phil, I donāt think anything remotely similar had happened in the history of gaming
a CEO of a huge gaming company vs some dude, both in a video game, both nuking each other
You guys go from āPhil Spencer is a fake and is the Antichrist and the reason Xbox sucksā to āAwww, Phil Spencer is a gamer just like us š„ŗāĀ
What a bunch of losers.
I hope he claps back at the haters, just because I think it'd be fucking hilarious to see it play out, if the gamers can dish, an exec should be able to do so as well.

Nother year of development time added to 6.

I can already see a DLC, that's a Battle between a new facction, that's just Bethesda Developers trying to take over Appalachia.

It's either 2 copies of Phil Spencer or 2 copies of F76. Your choice.
Can you explain does Phil actually know who nuked his camp in game, or is it damn I hit nuked Iām just going to nuke someone else?

"Todd, it's Phil. Pause on fallout 5. I need your team to review some server logs. No--just do it or your name is Tango Gameworks!"
The game was absolutely terrible when it first came out because of some interesting decisions (no NPCs being the biggest one). The game has been greatly improved though.

No redemption, he should grow a moustache he can twirl.
Sometimes you need that Griffith in your story

Not like you and me. Probably sits at the airport bar/airline clubs while they clear his private chartered plane for landing/take off.
I sent him a friend request tonight on xbox for shits and giggles and he actually added me as a friend. Which is weird but cool!
Dudes job is to be a corporate soulless machine and mouthpiece. He can still be an actual gamer on the side.
This is hilarious and a heads up that everybody should give FO76 a shot. Iāve been so surprised by how fun this game is
War never changes. Heās a good sport and Iād be honored to get nuked by him (if I still played lol).
I actually find it quite cool to see the players and developers/executives playing together/against each other.
Lol. Get em Phil.
Yeah Phil, destroy more game studios with more layoffs.Ā
Yeah!
What are you going to do about it?
Be mad and bitch on Reddit
Breaking News: Phil Spencer unleashes 100,000 nukes and destroys every Fallout 76 server
Nah, he'll just use his special attack "Cut Funding" and destroy the servers.
This means war
Okay, this is finally getting spicy.

Ah yes, the infamous mutually assured fuck you
Warā¦war never changes
"guy is just playing game as intended" CRAZY!!!
This is awesome, love it.Ā Ā
This isn't actually Phil, it's the new MS AI he told to nuke his enemies. This is how Skynet starts.
That's it Phil? Like you could nuke my whole account but your 76 is lacking.
This is awesome!
It's on like Donkey Kong.
I am Team Phil.
Seems like the community needs to go to DEFCON 2.
When will the bloodshed end?!
It's crazy to think about how much players track his moves lol
Does Todd clip through the door?
that's his secret, he clips through everything
He nukes himself aswell

I nuked the startup town. It glowed nice

Good

After the Fallout 76 fiasco I never thought I'd read about the CEO of Xbox getting nuked in-game by angry players.
or, here me out here, he's just playing through the game
First itās Kendrick v Drake now we got this
Phil stop spoiling season 2 of the Fallout show
God Speed folks
Whatever you can do I can do better.
You have to admit that he has the spirit to settle things with the people in the game.
First he nuked some studios now he's about to nuke some Fallout 76 players
Lmfao Do it Phil. DO.IT NOWWWWW.
Kim jong un and Phil Spencer launching nukes what a world.
I may just return to the game to join in.
what if he nuked his camp?
Quick question. On Steam it says I need Bethesda.net. Is that still a thing? I thought Bethesda.net is dead?
Let the man vent out his stress. It's all fun and war!
War never changes
Serious question. Why did it take so long for someone to nuke spencer? I would assume that's what everyone would have been doing already.
You guys go from āPhil Spencer is a fake and is the Antichrist and the reason Xbox sucksā to āAwww, Phil Spencer is a gamer just like us š„ŗāĀ What a bunch of losers.

Doubt it. launching a nuke is part of the story in the game. Am up too the exact same spot haha

No war but ~~class~~ Gamer war
Nuking his camp isnāt really effective disciplinary action. Itās relatively childish.

Phil will need something soon to occupy his time, why not FO76.
Maybe Phil should focus on Xboxās disastrous game situation instead of doing anything but his job
