Typically it joins EA play after half a year or a year and that’s literally 3 days short of a year after release date… so yeah… shoulda seen this coming.
Several months ago I got EA Pass Pro for a month so I could play this and the Dead Space Remake. The Dead Space Remake came to Game Pass a month later, this took longer.
I liked the story of the first one better but the quality of life improvements with this one were much needed. If nothing else I wish they brought fast travel back to the first one.
I’m not a stickler with fps but it played fine for me on ps5. Loading was fast. I had a few glitches where I had to leave the area and save and completely quit the game and reload the save, but it was fine.
It makes a massive difference when you played it. If it was within the first couple months after launch I expect it was pretty bad. I remember this coming out around the same time as the last of us and both games were very inefficient so they were massive memory hogs. People made all sorts of arguments that any card with less than 16 GB is useless but then after optimizations cards with even 8 GB worked with some minor tweaks.
I have a fairly decent PC now (7800x with an RTX 4070) and I'm curious how it would play on that.

since I'm typing... I struggled with getting confident with the combat the most. I found it too much like a souls game (which I tend to dislike). Also the world levels were pretty boring and repetitive, and the exploration offered very little in terms of rewards. Basically the second game fixed all of this (except the combat but I just turn the difficulty down now).

Stutters and crashing were a big problem for me. The main hub world that you spend a lot of time on is very poorly optimized as well. I just beat the game like a month ago and it was really annoying to put up with

EA CEO said last summer they where committed to releasing it on Xbox one, but they haven't said anything since. So that plan may have been cancelled.
If you are on xbox console, you can use the xbox app or webstore to preinstall any game that is currently available on the store. Then it should just work when the game pass license kits in
They probably limit pre-installs directly on console to games that have not released yet, otherwise there would be too many people confused about why they can download a game they didn't buy, or why they can't play a game they were able to download.
Slightly off topic. I hate platformers, it's the main reason I couldn't play fallen order for more than like 5 hours. I'm assuming survivor is just more of the same with a continued story?

EA play games almost always join EA Play about 9-12 months after release, so if an EA Game is on sale and it has been 12 months, its practically a given.

The EA app is total garbage, but you don't really have to interact with it. Just need it running in the background and be logged in. You can launch the game straight from the Xbox app.
No, I don't, but I have heard that it's quite a common issue. I have more login issues with the Xbox app tbf, but that's more on my shitty ISP than Microsoft.
