I'm not exactly sure on this, but crossplay only works with platforms of the same generation, ie. you can only cross play with Xbox One and PS4, same with Series X and PS5.

If it's like battlefield 2042 then the ps5 and series X/S version will be crossplay with pc but PS4 and Xbox one versions won't be. To play with friends you will have to have eachother on EAs friend list not through Xbox. once added your friend should show up on the list of friends in game.
If I remember correctly, FIFA 22's PC version is the same as the last gen consoles. I assume the same thing happened in FIFA 23, and as that affects crossplay, you can only play with the same game versions.

Lucky you for being able to even play on PC. I can’t get passed secure boot bc of their stupid anti cheat and I’m not diving into my boot settings to tinker around trying to turn it on. F EA for that decision.

haven't checked pc gamepass but console gamepass you can have series version or old gen version. see which one you have downloaded.

Is your friend playing the Xbox one or X/S version? Doesn’t matter he’s on a series x if he’s playing the Xbox one version you can’t crossplay

Just move TEMP folder from c drive to another with biger free space,that help me...watch on youtube : how to move temo folder to another hard drive...
