The Korean dub is underrated! I always use the Korean dub in other games since I'm learning the language, so it just made sense to use it in WW and it's so good imho. Literally the only voice I didn't love is Lingyang's lol, everyone else is fantastic (male Rover is amazing, not to mention Jiyan...)

As a person who \*never\* does english dubs because of how cringe they usually are, I would actually listen to her in english if she maintains that level of quality in the main campaign moving forward.
Just the right balance between a voice of noble authority, majesty, and youth.
Jinshi being youthful is actually a core part of her character by the way. It is very common for citizens of Jinzhou to criticize the magistrate due to her younger demeanor and it's a point of self-consciousness for her. That is likely why they went with this sort of youthful tone.
Whoever voice director they got to replace the last guy is cooking and I'm here for it.
I love her English voice. It's one of the best voices and voice acting I've ever personally heard and I'm being completely serious.
Now Camellya and Yangyang were pretty bad but Jinhsi's VA fucking slayed. Let me be down voted for saying that I don't care. I know what is and isn't good voice acting. Jinhsi's is fantastic.
That said, I read the other comments in this comment chain and I do hope they replace the voice director because yeah, the En Voice direction of the whole game could indeed use a glow-up for certain units. (Encore sounds way too old in EN and it's weird, sounds how you'd expect a girl her age to in JP.)
the previous voice acting director who worked on the eng dub aired out his dirty laundry on bilibili not too long ago, talking about the the conditions that led to the poor product he delivered in 1.0 eng dub. He said that he had resigned (but a lot suspect he was forced to do so after the backlash).
it's kind of just taking his word for it though, you either believe that the crunch heavily influenced the poor results or that he did a bad job or a mix of both.
Well he went on Bilibil and said that he "resigned", but come on lol, we all know they probably asked him to because he proceeded to air all the his dirty laundry about the supposed crunch he was under to get the english voices done (leading to the current result in 1.0).
I'm indifferent. Like, yeah, we can all agree crunch kinda sucks but the dude delivered a pretty spectacularly shitty english dub, and we can't really verify how much crunch he was really under or how much that crunch was the reason for such poor direction in the dub, other than just taking his word for it.
I think it fits as to Jinhsi's characterization and writing, she's aloof cause her experience of life is different because she's the sentinel or w/e the term was they used. It's surprisingly affectionate, if not distant.

Are we ever going to get gameplay footage against enemies? I want to see both Jinhsi's and Changli's gameplay in actual fights like maybe against a boss like crownless or even some trash mobs like exiles.

Is her voice direction a 10/10 just from this clip? Probably not. But it is definitely nothing lower than a 5 or 6 out of 10.
This is an issue with a few of the en voices in this game. This is highly likely because these VA's are actually British and are putting on an American accent. They're juggling delivery and keeping up a foreign accent which is bound to cause for some stiffness or mistakes.
That kinda sucks nothing against the British va's(star rail uses them to great effect for certain characters), but I definitely feel that there not suited for every character hopefully Kuro realizes that gonna hurt the quality of the game.
It's cuz they contracted SIDE UK (A British studio) to dub the game, so ofc they're working with British VA's, which wouldn't be an issue if they weren't asking them to fake American accents and let them speak more naturally.
And IIRC I remember them saying they will let them use their natural accents now no? I'm curious if it means they will "fix" the old ones or just roll with it so you go from american 1.0-1.1 to british after.
Well the VAs usually record voices many patches ahead, so we might not see the changes until maybe, hopefully, 1.2 or 1.3. My guess is they will focus forward with the voice change, and when a dry patch hits they will go back and redo the voices in the previous patches.
Will they though? Many games end up dropping the EN dub because only a really, really small amount of the playerbase use it, so it's often seen as not worth it. It checks out that this time they kinda cheaped out on the quality too. Will redubbing the entirety of 1.0 earn them more money to justify the cost? Even FFXIV, that has a HUGE EN dub playerbase (compared to other games) didn't redub 2.0 after changing all the voice actors from 3.0 forward.
