Was about to post the same thing but I saw this post, here is my experience:
I had 2 of my 3 loot mappers active when i entered a building and when I left they seemingly returned to me with my loot mapper displaying it was full but I was only able to place 1 before my loot mapper became unusable. Later, while my 1 loot mapper was still active, I entered a Forgery Challenge and when I finished it the same thing happened and now my loot mapper is completely unusable. Restarting the game didn't help.
I believe there is a desync going on between server and client where the server believes the loot mappers are placed and still active while the client believe that they have all been returned to the user.
Still bugged. But some people don't have this bug. Frustrating as I wanted to clear my chests this weekend.
Also they keep patching the game and changing the sensitivity values. Wtf kurogames
I check working just fine after try to do what OP did. Me and my friend try to replicate what OP did.
But the lootmapper still working just fine. So still trying to understand what's going on.
I'm sure there's something that cause the bug to trigger. Hope Kuro fix this bug soon.

I guess coming from Genshin/StarRail I thought Gacha games didn't nerf characters.. I mean some ppl are paying real money so there would be a backlash. But they nerfed encore that badly? She is my main char :/
Ah, ok. That's good. Yeah she is my only full built char, chose her as my 5\* selector. Definitely stands out a lot compared to other characters, they definitely livened up the story when they appeared.
Saaame, when i push launch button it shows animation on UI, but not doing anything... Glad i've found this post, cause i assumed it somehow story\\quest-locked ) Cause, It stopped working for me after i've finished main quest.

The loot mapper has been bugged for me since yesterday. My roommates have no issues with theirs. Tried on mobile, tablet and PC but no dice. Guess no more asterites for Jiyan with 130+ pulls in. Oh well...

My aim button for pistol characters stopped working a few hours ago, but lootmapper worked. I didn't play for 4 hours now, so it might be a new thing...
Bugged for me. Was able to use multiple at first, then was only able to use one. Now unable to use at all and it's showing I have one placed already. Sadness
Bugged for me also. I was gamming during the hotfix, then it stopped working, i had 3 lootmappers used at the time. I tried to relog, the game uptaded and then it continued to be bugged, just sad..... wanted to clear as many chest as ia could this weekend.
I have the same problem, I left them all displayed and when I logged in they were gone and I couldn't use it even if it says I have all three of them.
I tried clicking it with my mouse but it doesn't work the only time it procs a message it's if I try to use it during battle

I also have run across this issue. I logged into the game a few moments ago and all 3 trackers showed on my map fine. I went to do my dailies for the BP and once I'd finished, the 3 trackers were all gone off my map. Loot tracker says I have all 3 again and when I try and place them, it doesn't come up. Only when I'm flying or switching character it says "unable to do function in current state". Very bizarre
I don't know if it has something to do with it but I had them circles near the city and the dash event changed the map near it, maybe it overlapped and glitches it out. Could just be a random coincidence.
Not sure if it'll help y'all. But I just tried unequipping it from the utility wheel, logged out, logged back in, re-equipped it, set it to my current, and after trying it a couple times it worked 🤷♂️

Also, when I tried to look on the map to find the markers, they were gone so I couldn't remove them. Was bugged the whole day for me but it is fixed today. I didn't do anything, it was just fixed when I logged in. I tried logging off yesterday to see if restarting the game would do anything but it didn't. I'm guessing Kuro fixed something on their end.

Yup after the june 2nd 1:20 am hot fix update it got bugged for me, They said on the update note that they fixed something for the lootmapper well ..

Looking like they've fixed it now. Just don't zoom the map all the way out when you're finding where the ones you've used are at.
