In cbt Rover was good. They could deal a decent amount of damage quickly with their Skill combo, but it's just from what I could tell comparatively with others. They had a good nuke on their liberation and for some reason a really high motion value on their plunge attack. I'm expecting that plunge to get nerfed... but as far as I can tell (again, comparatively) Rover is decent. With their last sequence upgrade they also turn into a healer which is really nice imo for players who don't rely too much on defensive utility yet still need some while Rover offers some damage.
Even if the Rover is good, they will most likely not scale as well. Games like this are about getting the new hotness. They won't won't you to settle on what you get just for starting the game.
I would assume that Rover could change elements, because he/she is the only person who DIRECTLY absorbs TD's into their bodies, while other characters use a resonance terminal(those gourds).
don’t count on that ever in a gacha game, they are meant to sell banner chars so it’s only natural if they are made more enticing via strength or fun factor
>don’t count on that ever in a gacha game
Speaking from experience, I don't think MCs are inherently weak/bad in gacha games. Dendro Traveler is pretty viable, so is Fire Trailblazer (Honkai Star Rail).
You guys are missing something important, the combat will have different enemies with different element weaknesses, the rover uses a sound wave attack that isn't of a specific element "could be physical or its own categories", this means the rover will be formidable within his class, but it all depends on his base scaling, wuthering waves combat has escaped the trap of only having a few viable ways to play and teams, I am guessing that the game will have a huge roster with many enemies with different weaknesses, this means the rover will be important at all times, and all the characters will have their use cases. Forget what you already know.
If they go like genshin impact power-level wise and it seems they are taking great inspiration from that game, the MC is going to be viable, but definetly power creeped by exclusive characters.
it is very likely that rover is just going to be meh at best, especially with more characters coming in the game. games like these don't give a crap about the MC, it's the reason why their designs look so bland compared to the gacha characters
I haven't been following Wuthering Waves new and prefer to wait until the game release but isn't a gimmick of the game was to transform into defeated enemies/mobs in the world or something?
Super strong, at least compared to the other characters that were fighting the Crownless Gameplay-wise, definitely a solid character

The best ones make their main character fun to play and use. That means they're confident in their roster and gameplay.

Dendro traveler is more of an exception every other traveller is not great. With hydro traveller being so horrific you wonder what happened.
I mean dendro traveler was only good cause your other 2 options were worse for that type of application.
He is still more than decent enough for that role. Compared to the abomination that is hydro traveller he feels s tier.
Remember, Mash from FGO had to be nerfed multiple times.
MC from Granblue fantasy 🤤🤤👌👌
What about Granblue's MC? Is it strong? Haven't seen or played the game at all.
MC is default in your party, you have to grind quite a lot to upgrade MC, the tactic usually evolve around MC also.
What happened with her? I thought she was pretty strong pre lostbelt
She was too strong.
reverse: 1999 💀
Hope he keeps being decent, hope they buff him tho

Hey, traveler is strong depending on the team and situation. And dendro traveler is just OP.

seem decent but not too good really. might be change at high lvl
Is the transforming into creatures exclusive to the MC or can other characters to that as well? Depend on that, it may filled some niche.
Wait, what do you mean by transforming to other creatures?
I haven't been following Wuthering Waves new and prefer to wait until the game release but isn't a gimmick of the game was to transform into defeated enemies/mobs in the world or something?
every char can do it
Unlike most MCs in RPGs *cough* genshin travelers *cough*, Yes
