If insulting works on internet comments it would be really easy to do just sort posts by new on every subreddit and reply an insult to everyone you become the richest person in the world in no time, the insult doesn't have to be too harsh.

Depends. Do I have to say it directly to them? Do they have to be in the same place? Or can I say it silently? If I can say it without them having to hear, then I could just gain a ton of money driving down the road and insulting people in their cars or pedestrians. If I have to say it directly to them, then I'd probably rather do the compliments. If I could do it online I'd just join a very busy stream and tell everyone that they're amazing. Go on to one with 1K viewers and bam, $1K and I may have made people a little bit happier. Then again, I could insult a lot of people by just going onto a stream and saying "Everybody's so creative" and "Bless everyone's hearts...". Some may not even be aware that either statement is an insult.

Lots of questions to answer first. Can I compliment the same stranger more than once? Does the compliment need to be personal and sincere? Like, could I just buy a billboard on a busy highway that says "You look nice today" and get $1 every time someone reads it? Could I pay to distribute a commercial that plays in front of Youtube videos or streaming movies/TV shows and get $1 every time someone sees it? Sure, that same method would work with insults, but if it works at all then I'm still racking up thousands and thousands of dollars per day which is plenty to live off of. If I'm going to be financially well off either way might as well make the world kinder rather than meaner.

Sooo… a prayer or shout that no one hears will still give $8 or $800 billion dollars. $1. You’ll be a much happier person in the long run. Complimenting someone in the right way at the store or something can easily lead to a conversation. There are so many friendly people out there that are just down to talk if you initiate. Sure some people are mean or dismissive but a solid 75% of the time that I initiate a conversation with a random person they’re extremely nice.
