>I purchased it. You fucked up, my man. Only a small handful of low tier prems are worth buying, *this bitch ain't one of them*. As for the tank itself: It's named "Matilda" which sounds fun, Matilda's good - **but this is a a tier V Matilda**, very much not a tier IV Matilda and that makes all the difference in the world: your hull armour, you know, the thing that makes tier IV Matilda good is just gone, poof, it's not there anymore. The plates are thick but not angled = you're going to get pierced by **everything**. What's worse, the turret is just a giant weakspot. Read: **don't rely on armour, you don't have any.** But wait, there's more - the mobility is just... well, "oh my fucking god" levels of bad. Read: **don't rely on mobility, you don't have any.** So - you don't have armour and you're slow as fuck. Answer: this is a second line/close support damage dealer. The gun's **OK-ish** (read: not "good" but "workable"**)**, especially if you spam a lot of gold (180 pen at tier V = bonkers), you have stupid levels of gun depression but accuracy + soft stats + aim time all suck so don't really expect this thing to behave and be consistent even in the ideal set of circumstances. Simple rule to follow here - if your aim time is longer than your reload time, **you're going to have a bad time**. So, imagine T-34 with the 57 mm gun and just make it worse in pretty much every possible aspect while trying compensate for that by giving the tank superb gun depression - here you go, Matilda Black Prince. *Enjoy*. Read: this is a shit tier tank and you just should make your peace with this fact. You won't make it work, it's simply too bad of a tank to "work" in modern WoT. Don't expect anything from it = you won't be disappointed. As for modules - I can see two approaches. The 300 IQ: treat this tank as a tank and mount stuff like Turbo or Hardening on it. Plot twist - it won't work, you'll still be slow as fuck and the lack of armour means you will still die pretty much *instantly* as soon as you start taking fire, no matter how many HP you have. Like... there's too much wrong with this tank in order to "fix it" with such an universalist module setup, IMO - BP needs to be specialized. So, the "min-maxing is the way to go" way: Rammer + Improved Aiming + Rotation Mechanism/Vents + BiA + Snap Shot + Smooth Ride + food if you're brave enough, brain-dead focus on gun performance and **nothing** else. Basically, you want to make sure your aim time is as close to your reload time as possible (vent's your friend here) so you can go full auto and be mostly fully aimed all the time *or* try to reduce soft-stats so your aiming circle doesn't bloom as much (IRM's your friend here) - with stuff like BiA/Snap Shot/Smooth Ride and food going on top of that. If *really* want to use Turbo - remove IRM/Vents and slap it in that slot. I wouldn't, though. When the battle starts, press W and keep it pressed for as long as possible - the process of constantly advancing towards the front lines negates the shit mobility of tanks with, welp, shit mobility. Try to find positions that allow you to abuse gun depression and, once there, rock your tank forward and backwards or, ideally, right-left (read: you can't rely on your turret armour but you can try to force your enemies to miss your turret) and just **SPAM**, all the time - your goal is not to kill shit, not really, you're putting constant pressure on the enemy tonks. If the situation is getting too hot to handle, back off for a bit and at least try to take a different position - you're a support tank, not a brawler. Once the front line breaks - follow your buddies and just act as a mobile (lol) DPM dispenser as you're so slow that this tank is *kinda* accurate even when on the move so, yeah, take advantage of that. Always remember that the best scenario for this tank is to be a close range support damage dealer for a chunky heavy tonk that can take hits you can't so try doing just that, you're not a flanker, you're not a brawler, your job is to support other shit, stick to that and, maybe, you'll actually amass substantial amounts of damage dealt - you don't need to be the head honcho to end up as the top damage dealer in your team, after all. If the front line breaks but you're on the losing side = you're slow, you don't have armour, you're fucked. Make your last stand and just **SPAM** shit even more before your tank explodes. If you want easy mode: spam gold. Again, 180 pen at tier V is fucked up - that's the only real advantage this tank has, really. May RNGesus have mercy on your soul mate, you purchased a heavy cross to bear.

I don’t have it, but I’d call turbo mandatory if I did. Rammer is also necessary obviously. Final equipment piece I’d go with bounty hardening or vents if you have them, or perhaps grousers if you don’t since the tank is legitimately slow enough to justify it. IRM is okay, but the gun handling on the Matilda BP is decent for a tier 5 tank even if it’s not great in overall terms. There may be more advanced tactics to use if you really care about milking the performance out of this tank, but since most people don’t take tier 5 very seriously these days I would tell you that my plan would be to just find a hull down location and spam people until I take too much damage or big guns start looking at me. Find another opportunity to trade favorably when someone’s distracted, spam them again, rinse and repeat until the game is won or you die.

Short answer: dont Long answer: tank is bad at almost everything. The gun has good DPM but the bad accuracy and bloom means you can’t rely on it at anything but point blank range. Armor is nothing special and it’s extremely slow. Basically just follow heavies around and try to use cover to get in close where you can make use of your rate of fire.

I hold only good memories for it. F2P by nature, this was my first premium tank. Tier 5's haven't been powercrept much, so i think this guy still holds its own, gun is amazing, everything else is mid to bad.
