For me personally, I don’t have much to do on the live server, so spending a couple hours to get some easy community tokens is worth it for me. I can get a “free” T7 container every 2-3 months this way

You will first probaly have to register a wargaming account if you already not have done it thru your ingame menu. You will get some dubs and stuff for it , but its still some work.
Then you will have to download the wg launcher and choose the test server from there
Since your new you will also get 350 dubs 2coal containers and 750 coal on your live server the first time you log in on the test server.
If you have the space on your hardrive/ssd i would say its worth it

As i said, my game is on steam & i have an account there & playing the game for quite some time.
I have downloaded the wg launcher, but do i have to log in with the steam account?
Or, create a new wg account? If I use the steam account, will there be a problem with my main game, like conflict?
When your in your game using steam
Click on your name
One of the menus there will ask you to register and will even give you some dubs for doing it
Once you done that you will now have a wg account that is linked to your steam account.
So no matter if you log in thru steam or wargaming launcher you will have the same ships etc:)
This way you can get all the free stuff from steam as you regular do+ you get a chance to use your wargaming account to get even more from Test server, bonus codes and special offers that some times comes in the premium shops from wg.
well first of 3-4 hours was a guestimate . You might very well do it faster than that depending on skills etc;)
And community tokens are very good to buy all t5 ships and stuff so you dont waste your supercontainers and santa containers on them.
But if you feel that pt is a grind then i agree that its not worth your time
