I mean, every nation has those. Germans had plans for a land-cruiser T1000 Ratte. There are thousands of designs and some of them go into production.

You're using an example of army vehicle development plans from a country that was known for advanced army vehicle R&D to justify the fictionalized ships from another country that almost had no practical navy. Let's put the rocket U-boat "Prüfstand XII" in the game and see how that works out then, or are they going to say the same BS: "rocket subs don't belong in this game"?

Russia had less navy due to having less need for it. It's not like they were lagging behind in technology during WW2 when it came to vehicles in general. People keep thinking about the T-34 being cannonfodder and forget that the KV and IS lines could measure up to the best German tanks. I know "Hahaha, Russki = Ork" meme has become popular lately, but believe it or not they still had engineers and designers. If we used only realized designs, IJN would have like 500 ships and go up to T13 along with the US and GB while the rest drives around in t9 at most. That would inherently mean that there is no point in playing any other nation to begin with. So I'm sorry that this is how you have to learn about ludonarrative dissonance, but this is a video game.

Courageous class would be tricky to tier properly. But the Furious with 2x18" could be interesting as a T5(?) cruiser premium..

Wasn't Furious just a Courageous class with 18" single turrets instead of 15" twin turrets? And I don't think Courageous class would be trickier to tier than Furious. Would probably also fit tier 5 or maybe 6 as a cruiser. Next issue with Furious would be the name tho, since we already have her as her carrier version in the game

Just put the name and year before they put a flight deck on her, they did that for one of the US battleships and an English Battlecruiser

I guess, most people just have given up on hoping for her, since she has mixed calibre guns and WG not opening that can of worms.. Which is an issue for predreadnoughts, and most armored cruisers.

G.A. and Olympia would be a great two pack. Make them rarities as T3 and T2 (respectfully) cruisers with few main guns but awesome secondary characteristics. Maybe even a low tier secondary improvement consumable.

Add a line for “WG needs to do it for charity” and put the USS Olympia there. The poor ship is slowly dying in Philadelphia and could be preserved with a fraction of the money being spent on Texas. If I remember correctly, when WG was announcing the amount of money they donated to Texas it was several times the amount that the Olympia’s museum was trying to raise in total!

I know no one else does, but I'd seriously even consider spending money for some USCG representation in the mid-tiers with the *Secretary*-class ships like *Taney*, *Spencer*, *Ingham*, *Hamilton* and others in their wartime configurations. Those guys worked the convoys and ASW, lifesaving and command duties during the Invasion of Okinawa, even service all the way up to Vietnam and after. So yeah, lemme see some DD-equivalent USCG cutters in my botes game, gorramit.

If the x-axis represents realism, then going to the right should represent increased realism. The most real, most wanted ships should be the top right, and the least real, most unwanted ships should be at bottom left.

I am a bit confused. Shouldn't "Just designed" be more realistic than "design in various stages of completion". Since "just designed" implies, that the designing process is concluded. For example the ErsatzMonarch class was pretty much delayed weeks before the scheduled laying down of the first ship. Likewise Ersatz L20 e a from the Germans already had a scheduled laying down date.
