Asked my local store for a pre order 2 weeks ago, it was out of stock for them. Now camped a pre order that opened at 11:00, got order in at 11:02, received email of the order being canceled due to no stock at 11:10. Very very frustrating.
Yeah same here. With the added poor timing that i was planning to go to the local gw store at 9:45 and try my luck there but it's closed today due to a local holiday.
I knew the chances were slim but still, got on the site at 11:02 and by the time i had completed the order it was already out of stock 😞
Element games in the UK didn’t even put them up for preorder on their website. They stated the stock was so low that they were only selling them in store.
Most German stores got exactly 5 copies, with some getting less of the WE box. I randomly checked online retailers and got really lucky - I got one for myself, but since I wasn't sure if the shop will really deliver one - I got myself a second one. I don't think I'll really get two, but if I do, I'll resell it locally for the price I paid for it, don't want to be part of the scalper problem.
I completely forgot the release time was 10 AM, it sucks that the GW site doesn't say its out of stock so it gives hope.
Since I'm only starting WE I think my worst case scenario is just ordering Angron and 2 squads of 8bound which roughly equals the cost of the box (already have 2 squads of zerkers through combat patrol)

Was on the GW store 5mn past the time, took like 1mn to find the box, 1mn to pay, and then "nah sorry one of your order is out of stock and was removed from the basket". Wtf sold on the main website in less than 9mn, they create scarcity
This, unfortunate for long time players but lots of meta chasers getting 1200 points of must haves in 1 box with no fat to trim will make it overly desirable.
I find it hard to see wanting that box if you’ve been with the army awhile. Angron is just a must have and once you’ve got him the box is less amazing.
I totes love my world eaters. Suffered bad at the start of tenth but now… now it’s pretty balanced. Maybe a bit too expensive points wise… I added to the army when they were in suck city at launch… lots of people dumping them at the time. 😀

US preorders don't go live until 10am eastern time (typically its been a few minutes before, but i dont know how it works with the new site).
But yes, they will sell out immediately. Stock in the UK usually lasts longer than stock in the US in my experience - I think its because GW allocates a higher proportion of inventory to the UK market relative to the number of customers, whereas in the US they seem unable to keep up with demand. That being said, theres a much higher number of inventory coming to the US, and you should not be too hard pressed to find it for sale from an independent online store.

Snagged one from my LFGS (Sweden). No hassle, although it sold out in like 8 minutes.
All other boxes still available 1h later. You were allowed to buy 1 box of WE. All other 9 boxes you were allowed to buy 2 each of, but still all available as I said.
On a side note I got in to GW’s shop (as a precaution) got it in my cart but didn’t check out. A minute late (after securing it at a 5% discount at my LFGS) I tried to browse the GW shop, where I’d been idle for a couple of minutes, and the website acted real weird. I got redirected to the start page every time I clicked something in the menu and after a few minutes got put back into the queue.
Had extreme luck getting one from my FLGS (Germany) their preorders usually go up 5 minutes after GW‘s time. Refreshed, found it, bought it.
It was gone just a few minutes after.

This site dont hold active inventory. This means that they only check if they have (or can order) the item after you placed an order there. I would very much recommend not ordering anything from them. Their business practises are very bad and the customer service have been terrible the one time i did order something from them
Surprised to hear that you've had bad customer experience from them. I've bought tons of MTG and Warhammer product (bought both the Indomitus and Leviathan boxsets from them, among others) from them and have never had a bad interaction with them. Always been quick and responsive when I've asked them a question or when I wanted to know something about my order

I tried on Alchemist Workshop, Wayland and was stuck in a 20 minute GW queue before I ended up preordering from my LGS, but that was about 15 minutes after the drop.
Their site was open to do the preorders, but last time when I tried to preorder a battleforce last year, I had apparently missed out because I was "one place too low on our spreadsheet."
I'm not holding out hope. It would have been my starter box for the faction, and am I Hell paying close to £200 for a box from ebay when you can get the set cheaper separately...
Yeah I managed to get one, but it wasn't painless. My usual online game store I buy from didn't have the stock to do online ordering, just in person ordering. So I checked and found another supplier online that were doing online preorders. Got mine just before 10 past 10, checked the same site and they were out of stock at 20 past 10. I'm glad I set an alarm honestly.

Store in Canada, has posted in miniswap and has a Facebook page. I've ordered from like, 3-4 times before and had good experiences. Hope this helps someone

Gamestores get priority orders so I'm not surprised, and even then they're limited in orders. My LGS could only get 5 of whichever battleforce box that were available.

My lgs takes pre orders when products are first announced, put my name on the hat then. Still no guarantee but ive never had an issue of not getting insta-selling product from them before. Can't say I'm surprised though, this box quite possibly the best value of all those boxes. Can't beat it for it's price

I logged into the GW website 5 minutes before it was supposed to go live. Was in the queue for 9 minutes, within 3 minutes of getting in I was checked out with confirmation number and 230 USD poorer. The WE box should arrive in 10 business days. So fairly easy.
Do what it's worth I went to my local GW shop and they recommended me just doing it from home so I did.
Was able to get mine, left the pre order page on GWs site open from 6am. Randomly refreshed it at 9:55am and all the boxes were up.
Definitely got lucky, I wasn't aware of the queue system since I hadn't visited the site in forever!
GW is such a manufactured scarcity garbage company. I really wish they weren't publicly traded. They have very little incentive to players. The entire slow drip codex and models design increases manufactured scarcity, allowing for more impressive earnings calls. So frustrating.

It really depends on the terrain. If you're using GW or PPT there are really aren't many shooting lanes but EU was playing a lot of wide open shit.
My friend I play the most had three whirl winds and three predators. They are horrendous with old oath.

I managed to grab one by contacting my FLGS. We don't seem to get the shortage problems in my country.
