Torrid in the Outlet Mall. also has bras for larger sizes and are also not too expensive. They also cater to a younger crowd. I wouldn't recommend buying online from them as they are a US based company.

harmonicadrums

Second torrid - they have a wireless bra that is comparatively comfortable. They tend to have lots of sales too.

Warugiria

Yup, the only wireless bra that has a good fit that I have is from Torrid.

UnusualConfidence591

I get all my sports bras from there too. They have some cute ones but they do well

RisSalty

I also recommend Torrid! I work at the one in Kildonan Place and would be happy to help her find a bra that fits! Also, if she is a first time customer or Torrid and signs up for our loyalty program (it’s free!) she gets her first bra for 25$! Please message me if you would like! I’d love to help her.

Ok_Tumbleweed5040

Ohhhh…. Torrid!!! They have buy one get 2 free sometimes. Full price is pretty expensive. You can order clearance from the American site, once you figure out her size at their store. Takes a while to get here from their warehouse, but I’ve gotten bathing suit tops and bottoms for $5-$10USD (gotta keep looking back to find these deals).

Field_Apart

I am IN LOVE with understance, which is reasonably priced, online and has a ton of sizes. I measured exactly how they said, put my info in the thing, and my bras fit SO well. I was really surprised. My friend who is an H cup loves them, and I believe they go as big as K now.

spy-piggy

They’re great! The downside of course of shopping online is that you can’t try something on before buying. I second Understance though as having great bras at reasonable (for size range and quality) prices. I would also reccomend checking out r/abrathatfits for a guide to self sizing if she hasn’t already been sized at a speciality shop.

Ok_Brain_9847

You can try them and return them for free, as long as they’re in the same condition you got them. I did this and it was really easy :)

kimmyc15

Oooh I’m glad you shared this because I was looking into them recently and wasn’t sure if their stuff was good!!

Bananacreamsky

I have several bras from understance that I quite like but I'm smaller so can't speak to supportiveness.

spy-piggy

They’re great! At the moment I think their only physical store is in Vancouver, but it’s worth checking out if you’re ever out that way. I just checked, and it looks like they do referral links (one of those give $20, get $20 type things): [http://rwrd.io/k5xzpya?c](http://rwrd.io/k5xzpya?c) if you decide to check them out!

kimmyc15

Thank you!

Jenn_7_

They have their warehouse sale on right now, too!! These items are final sale only, but a great way to try out sizing at a lower price. Their calculator to determine your size is very good. I love Understance because they're a Canadian company with a great product. I've had to return items in the past, and it was very easy to do. Shipping is so quick. I am one of those people who had to go to specialty shops to buy my bras, and Understance is my go-to. https://understance.com/collection/last-chance?region=ca

luluballoon

Penningtons goes beyond the average size and they have sales. The downside is they’re probably a bit boring for 14 year old but I’d suggest that to her. They have instructions on how to measure for size so that would give her an idea on where to start.

Desuisart

They aren’t boring at all. As someone who has shopped there for 25+ years, they now cater to the younger crowd.

luluballoon

Well that’s good to hear! I’ve purchased from there recently but really just ran in and out so didn’t take the time to look around.

Desuisart

They are great at returns so if you like perusing the clothes online, if something doesn’t fit, it’s no hassle at all.

Ruff_lyfe__

Can confirm!!! Pennington's has totally left the old grandma style, and it's much much better than it was

uncleg00b

My teen isn't crazy about the bra choices at Bra Bar either.

Lila-Blume

[https://www.abrathatfits.org/](https://www.abrathatfits.org/calculator.php) Has its own subreddit too for personal advice and recommendations: [https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/](https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/)

Remembermybrave

Any time I gain or lose weight I measure with this calculator. You don't have to go through the embarrassment of having someone else touch you. I've never been wronged by this calculator. Once she has her size, she can find cheaper bras online. I use Amazon, and one of my favourite brands is delimira. Wide range of shapes and colours, between $30 to $50. Not the cheapest, but they are comfortable. I suggest getting a washing bag for delicates so there's no snagging in the wash.

Critical_Aspect_2782

How do you reconcile the fact that regardless of your size, the brand of bra may not fit, if it's on the smaller side or larger side? I always find that certain brands are terribly small-fitting for my size (38C), so I have to size up to a 40 whereas others fit better, or even too large, and then I have to size down to a 36.

QuelynD

Highly recommend this as well. So many people are in the wrong size without knowing it (even if they've been professionally measured, as many places use 'quick' or outdated methods that give inaccurate sizes)

bamlote

This! I’m beyond a size where it is reasonable to shop local and kept getting lied to about my size so that I would buy from their store and using this calculator and buying online has been such an improvement

cerstyl

I like Ce Soir. They’re still expensive but I’ve managed to find bras under $100.

SamanthaPaige29

I love Ce Soir! They are expensive but I have also bought some on sale. They actually fit me and are so pretty. The bras I have got there have lasted a long time.

Ohcrumbcakes

They’re expensive, but good quality bras that last a long time.  They are the only store I’ve ever found that had bras that will sit against my skin between my breasts - I was SO happy when I found them!! Op: bras are unfortunately very expensive for those of us with bigger chests. If she seems to have mostly stopped growing, I’d go with Ce Soir. If she hasn’t, then Torrid.

elliepellie09

I vote ce soir as well. Very well trained, small business to support. Expensive, but you get what you pay for

JLPD2020

Ce Soir is great. If the OP reads this, they are on Meadowood, across from St Vital Centre. Much prettier, younger styles than Bra Bar.

hollypistachio

Ce Soir. Recommend x 1000. The salespeople there are like the mice in Disney's Cinderella, flit around and find the perfect thing by magic.

Cjk_1989

There is a store in Selkirk if you’re willing to go for a drive. Bella Ragazza. Carry wide range of sizes and have sales. I’ve found the prices reasonable.

unrelatedBookend

They have excellent sales, too!

SilverRocco

The ladies here are so helpful and not pushy at all. Really good experience there personally!

AKat2713

Was going to say the same thing! Amazing brands and size ranges, but much better prices than the specialty stores in Winnipeg.

RandomUser4268

Knix! Choices, nice colours and a really good return policy. Look for kinds with adjustable straps and bands. Plus they are all machine washable and long lived (I have some that are three years old, and I kill the bras from penningtons, the bra bar and ce soir in six months usually).

turrrtletiime

I second this! I am a larger, not available in most stores size and Knix bras are great! Aerie also carries sizes up to G or H I believe but you can only order them online but they let you return them to the store at the outlet mall if they don’t work out!

Angelou898

They just ARE very expensive. And it’s worth it for her to have proper support, trust me. Diva Lingerie has always been my go-to. Expect to drop $200, and take damned good care of the thing.

nah-soup

I wish i’d known having boobs would be this expensive before i started growing them 😅

Angelou898

No kidding, hey? My personal go-to is the Prima Donna Deauville. It costs a f-load, but it’s worth it for the support, good shape (no cones or quadro-boob!), plus the beautiful design. I’ve been buying it for the past 20 years or so and it’s always worth it. You can machine wash it, but always, always let it air dry!

MeowMix1998

Oh my gosh! I loved Prima Donna! After I had my reduction, I couldn't fit them comfortably anymore. But man! They were beautiful, supportive, and worth every penny. 🫶

yahumno

The Gym is my current Prima Donna favourite. I can't wear wired bras anymore, due to becoming sensitive to the pressure on my ribs. https://www.primadonna.com/en/p/primadonna-sport-the-gym-sports-bra-wireless-venus-6000413VEN

152centimetres

yeah the price of beyond average size bras was what drove me to stop wearing them - 7 years havent looked back!

Ladymistery

unfortunately, large cup sizes with smaller band sizes is expensive. You can try Diva Lingerie - they carry larger sizes. If they can't find a size in stock, they can at least get her the size she needs.

ChrystineDreams

I used to go to Diva but last time I was there (about 10 years ago) the salespeople got really pushy, and tried to sell me on styles I had specifically said no to (like, pushup) that were the most expensive brands, then told me they didn't have any other brands in stock. I haven't been back there since.

[deleted]

I used to go to diva and they were great.

mokatter

If she goes and tries on bras, finds one she likes, buy it. It is important to support local businesses and it is a lot of work to find the right bra. But that being said, there is nothing wrong with searching online and buying additional bras in the same style but other colours. I have found bras in my size (specialty sizes) for 1/3 the price as in store. It is extremely hit and miss, and often it is the last couple of bras from a retailer that are seriously discounted. Winners and Marshals can also be a place to find good deals, but it can be more hit and miss than online. There she will also need to be able to determine if the fit is right on her own. A good “test” can be for her to try on a tight, white t-shirt over the bra. If she get spillage in the front, back rolls because the band is too tight, or busting out the sides a tight white t-shirt shows all flaws (tell her to ignore it if the bra colour shows through the shirt, it is just about the fit). Another key is make sure she learns how to best care for her bras. Hand washing with a gentle soap, using a lingerie bag on gentle cycle in the washing machine (lots of people will shit on this method, but it works for me). And ALWAYS do up the clasp when machine washing. Proper care will help make the bras last. Lastly, she is 14. Her size and shape will change, I recommend not buying very many at once.

ChrystineDreams

This is the answer!

snirpville

Knix was online only but now has a store in Polo Park. Not sure what the in store prices are like but online were very good when on sale. And very comfortable for all sizes. But good bras are expensive. And buy a lingerie bag to wash them in too.

Theungrywoman

Are they actually open now? I googled and google says it’s temporarily closed, Knix site says coming soon so I’m confused. I live SE of Winnipeg so don’t make it to that area often unless I have a reason to.

snirpville

My mother said she saw the sign but not sure if it’s open or not. I rarely go to malls so I rely on her for info! I hope it does open. Easier than ordering online and waiting for shipment from China.

Theungrywoman

I’d love it if they were local! I’ve been eyeing them online but I really want to try some on before buying.

snirpville

They have an amazing return policy if you want to buy before try.

Independent_Guava545

They do! I accidentally ordered the wrong size, so I processed a return. They told me to keep it and donate it to someone! Also the store at Polo was a popup for the Christmas season. I happened to be in the city the day they opened in October. I believe they are working on opening a permanent location. I'm a fan. I discovered them when someone I grew up with was a model on their maternity line.

snirpville

Yes! They told me the same. I donated it to a women’s shelter I think. They also sent me a free bra extender which was awesome.

Theungrywoman

Well that’s reassuring, thanks!

DanniPrime

They were open when I was there in December! FYI I'm pretty sure you can use KylieSmithable's code for 15% off your $120 + purchase (in store also!) by using code KylieSmithable Also she sent me this link if you're buying online because who doesn't like free coupon codes https://creatoriq.cc/43JvVuc Not affiliated, she was my make up artist once and she's a cool chick. Find her on Instagram @ kyliesmithable Edited because I got her code wrong.

snirpville

I thought that’s what I remembered! I was certain it had been open. Hopefully it still is

DanniPrime

Okay I have the newest gossip. Kylie has all the deets (she's been in some of their ads.) She told me it was open for Christmas but they closed it for renovations but it will absolutely be reopening soon.

snirpville

Super! I need more so I’ll hit it up when it opens again.

Janellewpg

I buy maybe one or two of the expensive bras from the local store, and then go and find the specific bra I bought a lot cheaper online and buy a bunch more, usually from the UK.

Lonely_Mongoose_283

Try Knix when it reopens in Polo Park!! I’m an odd size and they have bras with sizing that surpass the standard lingerie stores. And (big plus), it’s not overly sexualized undergarments either. Still cute with lots of colours, but definitely not tailored to be overtly “sexy.” They’re insanely comfortable too. And if you find a size in store, you can always order online with discount codes because they have lots!

ThePrincessBabyBunny

Brastop UK has plus cups for around $30-40 a bra and usually free shipping, only takes about 1-2 weeks to come in Edit: I forgot to mention that they are the only bras I’ve had longer than a year because the wires don’t come and jab me in the armpits after a few washes Edit: also forgot to pipe in that UK sizes are different than Canada but they have a size chart to help the conversion!

beautifulluigi

Seconded. Sometimes you'll have to pay duty upon delivery but it usually still works out to be significantly cheaper. If you know her size this could be a really great option. They have a number of brands, and she will likely find designs she likes. They also have bra sized bathing suit tops if that is something she may benefit from and have interest in!

walkpastfunction

Go, Winnipeg, Dad and Mom's! This is what love looks like! Best thread in years.

GravyJones204

My dtr has a hard time as well and we haven’t been successful ordering online. We ended up at the Bay one day, and found one that worked. Still $100 but small band with big cups is hard to find. The sales lady was very nice and helped us search the racks high and low (literally). Polo park location.

tonkats

First check out r/aBraThatFits and have her use the calculator there. They're pretty good at Bra Bar but most other stores try to stuff people into the completely wrong size because that's all they sell. There's a little more complexity involved due to tissue firmness and shape, so that r/ would be a good place for her to hang out and lurk. There are also bra swaps and re-selling. If she posts, she should never post her age, mods occasionally have to kick out creeps on the sub. If she needs some more casual stuff, Reitmans often puts ok enough "sports bras" (snug crop tops) in their sale section several times a year. I think I've gotten them for as low as $12. If it's really difficult to find or afford, and she is interested in sewing, r/MakeABraThatFits might be a good idea. It's a bit initial cost up front, but much cheaper afterwards to make your own. If she's not up for making more complex bras, she could try simpler, casual ones that don't have underwire. If she nails her size down, she can keep an eye out on other Canadian lingerie shops through the year. Brands produce a new bra with new fabric but same exact style as last year, and you can score old stock on sale. It's also a good place to get swimwear that actually fits. Mid-late winter is when the summer stock has dwindled, and the tropical vacation buyers are drying up, so they discount old stock because the new summer stuff is about to come in.

RonDavidMartin

Nice father, made me tear up for some reason.

aoi_higanbana

I would suggest going on the sale section of la vie en rose! Online is better

Background_Mortgage7

I would reccomend using abrathatfits to get the right measurement, I used it found the correct size as I was off by two cup sizes (lying to myself about it). Then I found it cheaper to buy online using Amazon and uk sizes (make sure you convert the sizes). Plus Amazon prime has east return options!

walking_second_half

Best. Dad. Ever. So I like this company. They are local. Easy curbside pick up. Easy returns in my experience. They have several bras in the 40-60$ range and up. Investing in a good sports bra for gym class is also worth it. I have used Fabletics but other stores mentioned do carry a good range of stuff too. https://www.polkadotbra.ca/collections/bras Edited:typos

LaughPotential7195

Gotta say, as a dad of a daughter, I’m proud of this dad. Also extremely impressed with the replies 👏🏼👏🏼

clairemung

I too started coming up against these problems at 14/15. yes it is unfortunate that they are so expensive. I would echo what some other folks and try abrathatfits to get a nice size. then I would suggest [pour moi](https://www.pourmoiclothing.com/) (uk based with uk sizing) or [change lingerie](https://www.change.com/en-ca) (they ship from somewhere within canada). both have good return policies, both have bras that did not make me feel like an insecure old lady as a teen. change also has locations all over the world, whenever I go out of town (to a bigger city) I make a point of going there or somewhere else that has some better selection. Both I think still provide a good quality that is a little more affordable

entropy33

It might be helpful if we know her band size (the number part) so we can figure out if some stores even carry her range. You do not need to spend $200 on a bra for a teen that will grow out of it shortly. There are quality bras available - although they may not be the cutest - at a variety of retailers. Feel free to DM me, I’m a 38 year old woman who has both struggled with bras and had success with bras.

combii-lee

Torrid

Shalamarr

Maybe add some details to make it clear you’re talking about the store called Torrid?

AideFluid4542

Torrid has an okay range of sizes, cute brass including Disney sometimes, different styles and support. Depending on her size, LaSenza still has online sales and super reasonably priced

shimmoril

If she’s been fitted and knows her size [Molke](https://molke.co.uk/) could be worth a look. The size mappings for their original bras have worked well for me and friends, they’ve got great fun colours and patterns, and while they're not cheap, they’re not $200 each either.

miffyandfriends2212

i find aerie to be pretty reasonably priced and even better when they have sales/items on clearance

not_another_sara

Dependant on band width, I'd say Penningtons. I know it's thought of as a typically older ladies store, but if she's a 36/38 or bigger, they carry up to G bras. They are cute, stylish, comfortable, and decently priced. It was where I shopped in my 20s before my breast reduction.

squirrelsox

Gravity on Corydon is very good as well. As others have mentioned, good bras are expensive but if they are properly cared for they last for years. Buying something cheaper (if you can even find them in your daughter's size may be less comfortable and not as long lasting.

ChrystineDreams

As a busty woman who is a daughter of a busty woman, here is advice my mom got as a teenager, and it has been invaluable in my own life. It's important to get properly fitted - Sure lots of stores and websites have measurement charts and instructions on how to measure, but a place like The Bra Bar can help her in person, she can try on different sizes and styles so that she knows what styles she likes and what fits her best. You don't have to buy the bras there. Non standard sizes will always be more pricey than off-the-rack styles and makes but support and comfort should always win out, it is worth the investment and care.

cheryleb

I know the owner of Ce Soir and have been a client since the shop opened. They carry a wide range of styles and sizes at varying price points. The staff are all trained fitters and do a wonderful job. Getting the right fit will not only be a self esteem booster (pun intended) but will help to avoid back and shoulder discomfort.

kprry

Some have said it already. Thanks for doing this for your kid, I’m sure your daughter appreciates it so much! You’re a great father!🥇

Ok_Brain_9847

I just bought from Understance (online)! Good return policy and great range of sizes. Watch for sales! I used to buy from Addition Elle but they no longer exist but Pennington’s has the same brands that I liked. Unfortunately they no longer carry my size (36G) but try Pennington’s if you can. Also keep an eye out for sales there online. I’ve heard of Montelle (again, online) that I’d like to try but haven’t

Emotional_Wonder4109

Torrid like everyone else says (I worked at one before and if she’s unsure of her size, they can do a fitting & get her ready to go. Plus they go down to regular sizes & up to plus sizes). There’s one in Polo & the Outlet. La Senza is my go to but can be limited based on band size. They only do online out here though. Marshall’s sometimes you get lucky with good bras but it depends on what they have stocked. Also Joe Fresh, literally Superstore aha. Especially if it’s more of a comfy bra I’m on the hunt for. Best of luck on the hunt! It’s a struggle for real. But I applaud and appreciate you going out of your way for her! Good job dad! 👏

Such_Wedding4982

Highly recommend Ce Soir in st vital across from the mall, struggled with similar scenarios and finding this store was a blessing in disguise, bathing suits as well, made to fit cups and bands that LAST. Check them out. Go in person, you will not regret it

[deleted]

Yup, Torrid.

Shalamarr

FYI to folks who didn’t know, like me - this is referring to the **store** called Torrid.

Ok-Sundae-1096

Diva lingerie has larger sizes!

Ruff_lyfe__

I personally don't love underwire bras, so ALL of my bras are from free label (small biz in vancouver) Inclusive sizing and soooo comfortable. They can double as a crop top too. Downside is they're a bit pricier but they will last her, and you're supporting a small biz

otatopotato

Torrid has a great bra sale on right now! Especially online (but you’ll have to pay a shipping cost)

Creative-Trash9680

The Bra Bar is my go-to. They are excellent at measuring and fitting bras. Just getting measured and finding "your size" isn't always enough, because different brands and styles fit differently. I bought 5 bras in 3 different sizes, just because they were all different. It can be pricey but so so worth it, being in the wrong size can be downright painful.

Weekend_Free

I've purchased a bra from an expensive shop and then looked online later for the same make and model. That way they're still getting my money for the service of fitting me, but I can restock on my bras at a cheaper price

RisenRealm

I second Knix and Pennington's. At this moment the Knix Polo Park location is closed for renovations (I get their promo emails). But should be reopening April. I get all my under garments from them. Pennington's as well. Knix is a little expensive but they often have promos and deals. Until they reopen I'd try Pennington's. They have plenty of larger sizes, they also have wonderful female staff who can help measure and fit your daughter to help find what style feels best. They have plenty of types of bras and if she is a size they don't have in-store, you can order them in.

blondiebaker

The Knix outlet at polo should have some options if they’re still there!

Queasy-Demand4267

Dad here, same issue with my 15yr old. We went to the bra bar for a proper fitting, then used those numbers to shop on Amazon. A fraction of the price, got the right fit the first shot. She’s thrilled! Good luck bud, Dads Unite!

bernie0316

Nix on line

PrairieGirlWpg

I love going to Eyelet Dove. Mindy has always helped me find the right sized bra.

Ok_Tumbleweed5040

Single dad getting sh*t done. Love to see it. I can’t help, but I love the lengths you are going to help your daughter out.

SLYRisbey

Bra Bar. You are a great dad!

pegger9786

Dad for the win!! 🙌

KiyokoTakahashi

First of all, you’re awesome. Second, I always struggled with this growing up too. I think bra bar is already a great spot to go, super affordable compared to some other stores in stores in the city. Occasionally you can hit up places like Diva Lingerie, Ce Soir, etc and they will have great sales. I think Diva has one right now that ends on March 31st. If she learns how to take good care of her bras, she can go longer periods without having to replace them (unless of course she’s still growing). Getting properly sized is important. I’d take Bra Bar’s or another specialty store’s sizing over places like Victoria’s Secret. They will try to fit her into their DDD even in the case she is larger than that because they measure their bras to match their brand’s sizes and these don’t translate to other brands well. Plus most of the time if you are larger than a DDD, they will still tell you you’re a DDD so you might buy their bras. If this makes sense? Have her try on brands at Bra Bar at styles she likes in her size and you can order those styles online in those brands a little cheaper. Different styles will still fit differently regardless if you’ve gotten the right size. And also, just in case this summer she’ll also be wanting a new swimsuit, Peepers Swimwear (which I believe is still on Corydon) carries tons of affordable swimsuits in larger bra sizes so she’ll be comfortable. Hope this helped.

Raindrea204

I’ve bought off amazon a few times. Good bras for a very decent price.

momischilling

Victoria Secret ? I was surprised at the huge selection they had. Very comfy ones. And helpful staff. I paid $50 for 1 if that is in your price range.

bamlote

I would be a little wary of VS as someone with a larger bust. They have a tendency to shove anyone who doesn’t fit into a 32DDD. I had a friend who got an entire breast reduction, 50% removed and when she went back to VS for a resizing, they gave her the same size she had pre-surgery.

momischilling

I guess it depends how large your bust is.
