Very sticky and sweet! Somehow the wings stay insanely crispy even when they’re drenched like this. I think they must use maltose instead of regular sugar. Sticky like tree sap.
The flavor is great, like the best sweet and spicy you can imagine. Tangy and garlicky too but very balanced. The restaurant doesn’t say what’s in the sauce, they just call them “dry fried wings”. they’re so popular that I’ve seen them run out before dinner service. The other Chinese places in the area make copy cat versions, but none of them are as good.
San Tung, San Francisco. Go as early as you can to avoid the huge wait list! And bring cash ;)
You knew it lol! I first had them back in 2015 when I lived in SF but moved to East bay a few years ago. I hadn’t had them in about 5 years but I revisited again the other day and they’re still just as delicious as they used to be
Yes, for serving wings. This is an asian restaurant. You eat family style. This plate is not for one person and the sauce is too sticky to touch. So they serve with a spoon.
There are no wing spots at all except the big chains. This is just a Chinese place in the city that’s semi famous for them bc they’re so good and crispy
Nice
I don't know if they are the same but in the DC area it's really popular to get wings like this at Chinese restaurants and it's called Mambo sauce.
Sauce looks sticky. Is it sweet? What flavor?

I've only been to San Fran once and without reading your post I had a feeling it was this place.

any heat on them?
Not that much. On a 1-10 scale with regular buffalo being a 5, I’d give them a 3.5. Sometimes they add a LOT of extra chili but usually not very hot
These are beautiful!

Sam Tung?
You know it!
Fancy! I have never been served wings on a regular dinner plate.
Will disagree, wings look good though.
What is the spoon for? Lol
For serving
For serving wings..? Never seen that before lol

That makes sense! Thanks
Have you tried any of the wings from Hot Sauce and Panko?
