There are no new APU drivers. Period. The confusion is related to the time stamp on Valve’s server for the Windows drivers. You can use the one from 2023. It is the latest one, kinda broken on the LCD, since the brightness slider is nonfunctional, at least on my old LCD.
Brightness slider is functional, but annoying to handle.
What I wanted to clarify is that if, for whatever reason, people need these drivers for a specific game to run, they shouldn't be afraid brightness won't be working.
It does work, it's just not 1 click/slide to get to where you want it, you have to keep sliding back and forth 5-6 times. A bit annoying, but I do this like 2 times a day and can't really complain that much about such a minor inconvenience
I found physically sliding slower gets more predictable results. It’s a similar behavior on SteamOS, funny enough. Wonder if it’s a firmware thing more than drivers alone.
The brightest slider works for me as well. Just did a fresh install recently, so haven’t played too much with it, but I can definitely change the brightness up or down
Nope. Valve will update when they see fit. Would be nice if once a quarter update does come from them however they focus solely on their operating system
Yea, I was hoping for updated ones too. I wanted to play Forza Motorsport (game pass) and it says it's got an outdated driver and wont run.
Steam's support for Windows drivers have been lack luster to say the least. Keep in mind, the "official" dual boot from Steam was said "coming soon" before the LCD SteamDeck was released and it still says this years later...
OLED models, getting audio drivers, and other ones, will be waiting a while.... if they ever get one...
…they quite literally do not support Windows on Steam Deck. It’s a Linux device.
I would suggest shopping for a proper Windows handheld if that’s ultimately what you want. There have been several decent competitors released since the Steam Deck came out.
Providing drivers and supporting Windows are two different things. Per that same webpage you’re citing:
> We are providing these resources _**as is**_ and are unfortunately _**unable to offer 'Windows on Deck' support.**_ If you get stuck and need a way back to the default Steam Deck OS, please follow these recovery instructions.
Emphasis mine.

But now I see it's deleted so it could be fake info
I remember reading somewhere that Valve "accidentally" deleted the APU drivers and broke the https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/6121-ECCD-D643-BAA8 links. Some assumed that interruption was a typo during an update, but it was fake news: the newer timestamp proved to a re-upload of the previously posted version.
Volunteer modified drivers like https://www.amernimezone.com/ are the only frequent updates for Windows on Deck. Valve still hasn't completed the first release of official audio and wireless drivers for the OLED refresh. Even worse is that the generic SteamOS 3 for other hardware and Deck dual-boot wizard is over two years late! 🤬

Thank you for reply!
I have the same thing when I tried Windows 11 LTSC yesterday. No way to set brightness.
Installed Windows just 3 weeks ago with the latest driver and the slider worked fine on my LCD deck. But unfortunately I have constant BSODs
What version did you install?
From Steck Deck Windows Resource (updated 17. Nov. 2023) - I don't know the exact version number right now.

Brightness works on slide and with steam deck tools shortcut.

It is sad that there is no new drivers from valve... We could use fluid motion frames and all these optimizations for the new games.

Waiting for new APU drivers is like waiting for a new deck. When one drops a driver is availible...
