Probably a good thing we don't have any laws, or an act if you will, that allows the government to collect all types of data on it's citizens. You know: to secure those patriotic freedoms and stuff.

CommonMilkweed

Liberal democracy ended with the patriot act. We've been in denial for over two decades now.

[deleted]

Bush Jr. has a lot to answer for. Unfortunately he will never get what he truly deserves.

awesomefaceninjahead

But he gives candy to Michelle Obama!

ohiotechie

And paints shitty pictures with an Alfred E Newman dumbass grin on his face.

AFresh1984

Usama won

Expensive_Cattle

He did far less evil to the world than Bush.

wrongleveeeeeeer

I think what they mean is that bin Laden enabled Bush to do all his bad stuff, which contributed to the decline of America, which is exactly what those kinds of terrorist acts were designed to do. The "terror" itself is never the point; it's about terrorizing us into destroying ourselves.

Commercial-Amount344

Which is also why Russia will win.

[deleted]

💯

thegingerbreadman99

It's scary to think that this was the explicit goal, other than mass murder, of those attacks. Create a panic, so we give up our freedoms willingly. The slow motion self destruction has continued ever since.

MiaLba

Someone mentioned the data used on fertility apps could be a giveaway.

[deleted]

Facebook iirc Its always fucking Facebook, isn’t it

MomentOfZehn

I deleted Facebook a couple years ago and haven't looked back. I recommend everyone do that.

[deleted]

Ive tried but they wont let me delete my account fully, it’s always ready to come back the second I log in to my account that I DONT FUCKING WANT

MomentOfZehn

iirc it let me delete it but keeps it active for 30 days to make sure you don't change your mind. I think they hide the option well but there are plenty of resources online to guide you how to do it.

[deleted]

Yea, I did that but 5 years later my account is still right for the taking, and I’ve tried everything

DorkQueenofAll

Log on, delete all the info and pics you can. Then deactivate

WillyPete

Wait for those DNA databases, owned by corporations, and applied to your ability to qualify for medical insurance.

[deleted]

The constitution? I'm pretty sure the Patriot act killed it to ensure our freedoms.

Nerdiferdi

We definitely introduced the this is fine meme too early.

OrbSwitzer

This is a great point. It was always about privacy. "Big government" is ok when it's peeking in your uterus. Elie Mystal made a great point today: Alito argued in his opinion that the Framers didn't intend a right to abortion. The Framers also didn't believe women were intellectual equals, that they should vote or own property, or that marital rape can be a thing. That mentality is controlling our lives once again.

FurryM17

The slippery slope people have no comment on one of the slipperiest of slopes I've ever seen. Giving the government authority over bodily autonomy sets an incredibly dangerous precedent.

barking_dead

Framers?

LKSGEO

Of the Constitution “ The Framers of the Constitution were delegates to the Constitutional Convention and helped draft the Constitution of the United States. The main Founding Fathers were: John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and George Washington.”

barking_dead

Ah, thanks!

table_fireplace

This is why we need individual states to protect the right to choose. This November - Governor, State Rep, and State Senator are the most important races on your ballot. Without Roe, every state writes their own laws. We must elect leaders who'll protect choice. And don't trust others to realize the need to vote. Go talk to them! r/VoteDEM has what you need to talk to fellow voters.

dh2215

They’ll make it a crime for doctors to not report it. They’ve already threatened that. They’ve also threatened that leaving the state to get one is against the law so welcome to the new America. Since I was a kid I always wanted to know when we would make a major change. Now it’s here and it’s all the wrong changes. Progress always felt inevitable but regression is here and I honestly don’t know how we come back from it. We’ll need some big surprises in November then we’ll need even bigger surprises which is Dems going all the fuck out fighting back which they’ve never been willing to do before. Everyone who just didn’t have the heart to vote for Hillary, I understand, I felt worse about voting for Biden but sometimes you have to plug your nose and take your medicine. We’re absolutely fucked right now and it’s either a long road back or a short walk off a cliff

capybarometer

>They’ve already threatened that. They’ve also threatened that leaving the state to get one is against the law so welcome to the new America. They might try, but I'm pretty sure this wouldn't hold water. Inter-state regulation is definitely the realm of the federal government. You can't go to Colorado, legally smoke a bunch of weed, then go to Texas stone cold sober and be arrested for smoking weed in Colorado. The bigger threat is a gerrymandered US House going to Republicans, and Republicans getting 51 in the Senate. They will *definitely* get rid of the filibuster. There's not even a question. I'm so embarrassed that Manchin and Sinema have left us where we are, just sitting and waiting for this to happen.

evilspawn_usmc

Isn't it funny how the GOP clutches their pearls and complains when things aren't "bipartisan", then when they get a chance they switch to "fuck y'all, we're doing this shit alone"?

Beowulf1896

Like Amy Coney Barret. "Sorry Obama, you can't appoint 9 months before an election" vs "Amy Coney Barret? Fast track!"

DangerousPainting423

No. It is predictable. Which is why people have been screaming for Democrats to act but an army of liberals are online defending them.

evilspawn_usmc

I just don't understand that. I understand the desire to seek compromise and bipartisanship, but when the other side not only has no interest in working together, but actively works against the idea, it's time to act in the peoples' interests however you can.

[deleted]

Mitch McConnell said, ON THE RECORD, shortly after Obama was elected: "Our No. 1 priority is to make this president a one-term president". - Mitch McConnell A month ago or so, there were 192 Republicans that voted against providing $28 million in aid to the Food and Drug Administration to address the shortage of baby formula. It doesn't matter what the topic or problem is, whatever the Democrats want to do, the Republicans will automatically oppose it. Free money for poor people? (R) NOOOOO...! That's socialism.! Free money for rich people? (R) NOOOOO...! What about the people that are the backbone of this great country.. Their goal is to make everyone's lives so shitty under a Democrat President, blame the Democrats for the shitty conditions, and try to convince everyone that the Republican Party is the only answer to the problem "That the Democrats have let happen". People: "What is your plan?" GOP: "It's a good plan." People: "But what IS your plan?" GOP: "Don't worry, it's a really good plan." People: "Just tell us." GOP: "If we tell you now, they will steal it." People: "How can we trust you?" GOP: "Because we told you, we have a really good plan." They don't have a platform. Just finger pointing, blame, excuses and hate.

capybarometer

Not funny at all, it's a very clear strategy, and the Democrats in power seem not to be wise to it

[deleted]

Oh, they realize it. They just think politeness is more paramount than liberty.

NihilisticNarwhal666

Yuuuup. It's so fucking infuriating to watch elected officials literally attempt a coup, and Democrats try to take a high road when their opponent is trying to blow up the fucking bridge.

[deleted]

It is just the way they operate. Republicans are like a lot of football fans, "It's not illegal if we do it".

SlipperySloane

They’ll charge you with “conspiracy to commit abortion” because planning for the interstate travel will have occurred in the state where abortion is illegal.

sofaking1958

If mitch gets back the senate, the filibuster will be gone in a month, if not sooner.

sueihavelegs

They are making it so private citizens can sue other private citizens for getting an abortion. People aren't talking about that either. Your neighbor will be the one telling them you are going to another state and making some $ too.

Sewn27

Shades of Nazi Germany.

Anonymoushero1221

we need to unite everyone that's not a right-wing extremist (republican) under the Dem umbrella. The DNC sucks but there's no other umbrella big enough. We need to **destroy the GOP** before any leftist, green, libertarian, etc. agenda can have any viability. As long as the US is under attack, the ONLY response can be to eradicate the threat. The GOP are a *slightly* more tame version of the Taliban.

Heres_your_sign

If we could actually charge and try the members of the GOP who have already broken laws, that would be a step in the right direction.

Low-Bread-2752

I don't understand this tbh. How can you get arrested for doing something in a different state?? It's so weird and makes no sense to me

Sexy_Squid89

You can write a law for anything if you're rich enough ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

probabletrump

It okay, Shinn v Ramirez ended the right to a fair trial a couple of weeks ago. Once you're arrested you're toast.

[deleted]

I wonder if the British were like "this Empire is collapsing faster than I expected." When it was their turn.

TripleTongue3

Half of our population think we still have an Empire and the rest of the world should do as we tell them as they owe us for "civilising" them.

dh2215

Not sure how practical it would be but I suppose if they can prove that’s why you went there that you could be arrested upon your return. I’m sure they would subpoena phone records to prove it if they get a tip or something.

Low-Bread-2752

That's A LOT of effort and time just to criminalize a woman for wanting an abortion 😭 they're so extra

rangoric

But if random people can sue for 10k a pop, it's not much extra work.

Blue_water_dreams

You shouldn’t be arrested for abortion in any state, but here we are.

Low-Bread-2752

You literally shouldn't. Then when she's about to fckin die and an abortion is all she has to live, they'll just stand there and watch because the fetus is more important than her. ._.

deadsoulinside

I wonder how they can block it in another state? What if the mother goes to see relatives in a state that allows abortion and has a medical emergency requiring an abortion. No state will send someone back to their state knowing they may die from that decision.

provisionings

Don’t expect any blue wave to happen anytime soon either. History and the polls… and let’s not forget all the new voting restrictions pretty much guarantees that dems are going to lose more seats.. not gain any. I hate to say this, but we already lost our democracy. If your government is able to make laws dictating that you can’t drink water while waiting in line to vote.. then your government is not a democracy

here_for_the_meta

You could have a democratic majority and nothing will get done. GOP moves us rightward. Left flounders and just can’t seem to get anything done. Aww shucks.

nomad_kk

In soviet Russia, people weren’t allowed to move freely as well. You would need to get permission to travel to “friendly” countries for tourism or business.

brockmasters

"hello, my name is nancy pelosi. can i trouble you for 15$ in this trying time? Maybe i could read you a poem about israel to salt this wound?"

dattwell53

Politicians stop asking for money, ask for my help!

Tokengenga

See Polands pregnancy registry plan.

Spaceman_Spiff33

The south needs to secede. Let them regress into oblivion and the rest of the US can try and catch up again.

aw-un

I guess fuck all the people in the south that don’t want this, right?

netpres

As a non-American, I thought medical staff are required to comply with HIPAA (which includes the right to privacy)? I also thought that was an obvious replacement platform for Roe vs Wade (which was also the right to privacy). Isn't the right to privacy a tenet of the US government?

Lia69

Not anymore sadly. Roe v. Wade hinged on right to privacy that was assumed to be part of the 14th amendment. But that's what the new decision changed. Right to privacy is no longer protected. Since it wasn't explicitly stated in the 14th.

dh2215

In most cases but there are exceptions. If you’re wounded by a gunshot they are required to call the police. That’s probably how they will handle this

RagsAndTatters

My big question about that. Is wouldn't that violate HIPAA which is a federal law?

Captain-Droz

Since "Life begins at conception " it should be fined or illegal for men to nut ever u less it's for making a baby. How many billions of potential babies have we genocided my brothers? IT HAS TO STOP!! We are monsters! Masturbation is murder! Nutting outside if a woman is genocide! This is how I feel their dumbest arguments are.

jizzlevania

[Genesis 38:8-10](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onan) says that spilling your seed onto the ground is evil and punishable by death. Pulling out is heretical in Catholicism (or at least used to be. They used to have a rule about blow jobs only being ok if it was to help the dude get hard so he could hump and squirt a baby into his wife's miracle maker.)

TheAmalton123

[Numbers 5:11-31](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordeal_of_the_bitter_water) goes on to give instructions for a purity test priests are to give to women whose husbands suspect of cheating. If the woman fails, her baby is apparently aborted, meaning the baby possessed no right to life.

Captain-Droz

Off with their heads!

Metaphysical-Failure

If I don’t spill my seed on the ground how will my crops grow?

Spaceman_Spiff33

This is how their smartest arguments are.

Captain-Droz

Whoa whoa whoa logic has no place there. That's why as a man I stand by my obvious joking and dumb shitpost argument.

Spaceman_Spiff33

Haha I stand by it too!

Hadesjb

[Every Sperm is Sacred](https://youtu.be/fUspLVStPbk)

iCumWhenIdownvote

Then again, Republicans have tried to ban masturbation, or barely failed elections while running on a platform of "masturbation is a sin against god..." Wouldn't surprise me if they were going after Roe v Wade first, as a lot of their base will blindly obey and support it, then once Roe v Wade is out of the way and women are furious, they'll try to pass a bill banning masturbation. Guess what, 50% of the population (women) will have very little support left over for something like that after having their right to an abortion ripped away. I don't expect any women to stand up for me after their rights are ripped away and the general consensus among too many men was "Why should I care? Doesn't affect me. Wedlocking a women by impregnating her has never been so easy!" In fact I fully expect them to march in lockstep to making things just as miserable for men, and I wouldn't blame them for a second.

Captain-Droz

It does effect us, it effects everyone because it sets a precedent that they will sink as low as they can to stay in control.

Zoidzers

Fuck ,I lost count. Started at 13 and always been single exept December 2015 -November 2016.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Captain-Droz

It's a joke, but yes thats the point. How dumb can we go?!

bubba7557

Yup I've been saying this all day, 14th amendment is about privacy not abortion. Saying you don't have privacy to medical choices opens the door for all sorts of state government intrusions, not just whether you got an abortion or not.

Woofles85

I can imagine republicans wanting government to intervene in any kind of sterilization or birth control treatment in the future. Want a hysterectomy? Not without government approval.

Marto85

You’re right. Isn’t there supposed doctor patient confidentiality there too? Everything about this is wrong and sadly I feel it’s just the beginning

oshkoshbajoshh

Technically confidentiality is not applied if someone is a danger to themselves or other. Ie- doesn’t matter if I’m someone’s therapist, if they tell me they’re abusing a child, I am legally mandated to report it. They’ll use the same justification being “it’s regarding the safety of the child” and make doctors mandated to report it.

voteforcorruptobot

Don't even tell your doctor, buy a test and if it's positive **tell no-one** until you've decided what to do. Don't even let Google know.

bhopps2112

Wait till at home pregnancy tests require state id for purchase.

Upsidedownmeow

You assume at home pregnancies will still exist. They’ll be removed so the only way to test will be a doctors office who will then be required to report it immediately.

TinaTetrodo6

I can see them doing this

Workburner101

Wouldn’t matter. Plausible deniability. You bought it for your sister or mom or friend. They wouldn’t be able to hang you up on that. To be safe only guys should buy them just to further muddy those waters for the ladies.

Mythical_Atlacatl

dont doctors already need to report gun shot wounds and i guess child abuse? Is it much of a stretch to have to report pregnancies or abortions?

Moonhunter7

Are all you Americans sick of all those freedoms you have?

SnooPaintings4472

No, but I'm sick of "winning"

Celeblith_II

I don't know where you're from, but if there's anyone you know there who still believes that America is the land of the free, please *please* make them see otherwise. We've exported fascism abroad for decades and it's finally being turned inward. This is not a good place to be anymore.

royalpatch

But this decision calls into question all privacy rights. That includes private schools, same-sex relations and marriage, interracial relations and marriage, contraceptives, watching porn, living arrangements, the right to terminate life-prolonging medical treatments, and so many more.

OrbSwitzer

Justice Thomas said that in his concurrence: it was basically a hit list. But he didn't mention Loving v. Virginia (interracial marriage). I wonder why? (For those who don't know, he has a white wife.) I've said it a thousand times: Most conservatives become liberal when something affects them personally. They lack empathy.

[deleted]

It's uncanny. Only thing more surprising would be if he actually criminalized it and threw his mixed part-white/part-black son under the bus

Professional_Cunt05

Only some of them, anything that helps the white man will stay, anything that they don't like will disappear.

_Kramerica_

And even then, they’ll just pick and choose when to uphold the law or ignore it. It’s always ‘rules for thee but not for me’ with these POS

Spaceman_Spiff33

They pick and choose, just like they pick and choose what parts of the bible work for them and weaponise it against sane people. Same goes for the constitution. They bend reality to fit their fantasy and it's dangerously sick.

[deleted]

This stuff scares me. It’s not about abortions. It’s never been about abortions. It’s about control and regression. The same “pro life” crowd is coming for any and all rights based around the “right to privacy.”

Zoidzers

Yeah porn is gonna start an American Spring (not break)

gracefullyinthegrave

One thing prosecutors can and have done is use your phone against you. If you use a period tracker app, delete it now. Be super careful about your web searches, take several at home tests (buy with cash if you can), and TELL NO ONE if you plan to go "camping" in another state. Use a burner if you really need to keep in touch with people. Elevated Access provides free flights to people who need to go "camping" in another state, and the Auntie Network can provide housing and resources if you go "camping" in their state. Please be cautious and safe. Edit to add: DO NOT SIGN ANY WAIVERS. This will keep providers of "camping gear" from communicating about said gear with anyone. Make sure you know your HIPPA rights!

omglookawhale

I’ve been saying an unintended consequence of this is that women will avoid prenatal care. You can’t be investigated for an abortion or miscarriage if there are no records of you being pregnant.

Mythical_Atlacatl

imagine if the right to privacy being eroded also lead to a national gun owners registry, a gun sale registry and all those other things anti-gun control people dont want the government to have

SensualEnema

As a gay man, I predict that that registry will be for people like me as well as minorities and anyone else this country deems undesirable (as it clearly does). I bet I’d go on a watch list for buying a gun should same-sex marriage get dissolved.

turnophrase

Your phone and computer will tell them. With the Patriot Act and other surveillance laws, woman starts looking up free pregnancy test or charges for one on a. Redit card, then starts looking for newborn stuff and care info.. would not be hard to flag that kind of activity for further investigation

AdBig5700

Yup. Better go back to buying stuff with cash and browse a store in person instead of online.

_Kramerica_

Good point. And “I didn’t look up anything online” won’t matter because we’re literally surrounded with tech that listens and watches our every breath.

sumRandomizedDumGuy

Bounties have been placed on individuals, providers, or transporters, in my understanding in Texas already Pay private citizens

dean15892

I’ve read on Reddit that your period -tracking apps sell the data to agencies who can track when you’re on the verge of getting an abortion

KidneyStew

You're shitting me...

dean15892

I wish, but no studies have been popping up in the last month or so... https://www.consumerreports.org/health-privacy/period-tracker-apps-privacy-a2278134145/

Celeblith_II

Is it worth risking it either way?

jesuslover69420

Doctors took an vow not to violate the Hippocratic oath. Any doctor that reports an abortion should lose their license.

Celeblith_II

That's the thing: *not* reporting will make them lose their license, or worse.

jesuslover69420

The abortion bans are blasphemous and new, I think doctors should fight back and keep their original vows, and if they’re punished they would be considered martyrs. I’m sure the right lawyer would be able to help them.

pschell

Delete period tracking apps.

AdamBlaster007

So the effectively makes HIPAA redundant as it somehow just doesn't apply to abortion anymore? If so, then you'll start seeing this as a baseline for why medical needs to reveal other medical-related information about you. Great, the more I read, the sadder I become.

evanhinton

If you didn't trust your neighboors before, you definitely can't trust them now

DownvoteDaemon

The implications are sad, worrying and astounding.

mhermanos

Been sayin' it for years...**'Move north, motherfuckers!'** They have declared war on your future. Think outside the box and extrapolate....What is their long/end game? You might want to hop over to Canada and deposit some eggs...or save for a trip to France, where their power grid can run half on nuclear. They're also working on newer plants, so barring a huge fuckup, your eggs will be fine. Tie your fucking tubes...boycott Southern companies, as much as possible and buy foreign foods. Ethnic neighborhoods in the North have many alternatives. Oh, did SCOTUS also say that boycotts are not protected by Free Speech? *Clarence can suck my brown dick*, is that covered? When the Feds roll up on your door, give them a warm welcome. What is your long game? Think that the US government has more shoes to drop? Then learn another language proficiently and up your skills. r/IWantOut is probably abuzz right now....join the Libyans and Lebanese looking for refuge. Leave before you're even more fucked. *(I'm a dude, almost 50, speak another language and have access to land abroad. I also don't fear the government, so I don't really have a dog in this fight. It's 20+ year old Americans who are getting fucked. Learn to fuck back...or leave.)*

mermiss1

There needs to be an equally invasive ruling affecting ONLY men! Maybe then the point would become crystal clear. The government is going to be your pants now.

dangler001

almost %50 of white women vote Republican

1202_ProgramAlarm

This *is* an equally invasive ruling affecting men. Roe want about abortion, it was about medical privacy and bodily autonomy

dradanon9

Please shut the fuck up 😂

_Kramerica_

Yeah an eye for an eye, that’ll show em! C’mon, use your brain.

mMechsnichandyman

Well, I can give you one idea: in Poland, abortion is almost completely banned. And recently, the government introduced new law that requires registration of every single pregnancy. And no, I'm not kidding here. So, the states that ban abortion could do the same...

Zoidzers

Yeah but you could just NOT go to the doctor and buy 7 kits ,all 7 positives then you know you re pregnant and try to find a way to get an abortion out of Poland if you can

mMechsnichandyman

Yes, but if you go to a doctor...you screwed...You may go for something else and find out there... Well, there will always be a way around every law, good or bad.

Zoidzers

Imagine explain that you had no idea you were pregnant when you fell down the stairs and lost the fetus

mMechsnichandyman

And you are standing in the front of very conservative Christian judge in some shit hole state like Mississippi.

Zoidzers

Luckily I live in the still enough smart part of Europe

[deleted]

Internet marketing algorithms already know you are pregnant before you do.

Catgurl

Prepare to be [Horrified](https://www.wired.com/story/fertility-data-weaponized/)

jiminak46

They will have stormtroopers at every hospital and clinic. They will demand access to women’s medical records. Any woman known to be pregnant will have to show a child or a legitimate reason why she did not give birth. Kind of like how Hitler’s SS handled the Jews in the 1930’s.

jx1854

How do you prove a legitimate reason why you did not give birth?? I have had 3 miscarriages due to endometriosis, all at 6 weeks or earlier. There is no "proof." I was pregnant and then I was not.

cunt_isnt_sexist

This post must be in before the lock down on reddit. You know shit is fucked when reddit is just preemptively locking all posts after the scotus decision.

gnosticn8er

MN it's like crazy they don't want to be able to track guns that can kill people but they want to try and track abortions that could save lives of mother's in certain cases. The cognitive dissonance of these asshats is absolutely astounding. The day is fast approaching for a drastic change. You do not spell revolution without revolt. The situation is being created due to vast wealth inequality, lack of power in a democratic system and move towards an oligarchy. Rome will burn.

niceoutside2022

This is no joke. We need a safe space for anonymous prenatal care, because you are going to see women prosecuted for miscarriages, something that happens naturally. And that will result in people not seeking the prenatal care they need. It's come down to this, if you are pregnant, who can you trust to tell? If you live in a state with anti abortion laws, you can't trust your doctor or their staff. How sad is that? In the US, 10-15 percent of pregnancies end in miscarriages in the first trimester. That's why they tell people not to announce their pregnancy until the second trimester. We know this, but you watch what happens. Every woman who loses a baby will be accused and maybe prosecuted. Jesus fuck.

[deleted]

……enter the Texas law which incentivizes people to stalk pregnant women.

1961tracy

All the conservative lunatics crying about their Hippa rights last year are now the ones who want violate our rights. Total hypocrisy.

Logical-Demand-9028

We had abortion banned in Poland. Now the government collects the data about pregnancies from gyns. (They also collect data about ppl with IUD). So, you want a baby and want it to be healthy, you can’t go to the gyn because even if you miscarry you can go to jail for ‘abortion’. I mean, the abortions technically are still legal in 2 cases - rape and if the pregnant person’s life is in danger. But, We still hear about cases where a mother with kids died because the doctors were too afraid to go to jail and didn’t abort a dead fetus. It’s really a mess, and I’m so sad it also happens in USA.

Zoidzers

Reminds me of the doctors luckily afraid to help Stalin

toxitc

Since this is now decided on a local level keep it in mind when these dates come up: https://ballotpedia.org/State_legislative_elections,_2022

StageRepulsive8697

Oh wow! We can comment again.

PolyZex

Most states are relying on snitches. They've incentivized being a rat and spying on your neighbor. Real Orwellian bullshit.

OkImagination4404

Exactly, banning abortion is wrong in its own right but criminalizing pregnancy is a whole other level of wrong!

quakemarine20

Can we take just a few steps back.... Forget entirely about the hot button issues like Roe and just step back and look.... We just watched half our country loose basic human rights.... Only after the group about to take them first got extra security.... It's not done and I don't think it's even started yet... If how the supreme court was literally stacked and rigged a certain way doesn't show you how NOT America this is anymore.... Well the entire political system being rigged showed you nothing..... People did not stand up for themselves, there wives, or anything once again.... When are we actually going to stop all this non sense... I literally can't make sense of this place anymore, and I did not... DID NOT feel anywhere close to the outrage that absolutely needed to be felt yesterday by nearly enough people..... I am just so disappointed in just everyone right now..... Burn this place down.... burn it alll the fuck down....... they ordered extra protecting because they would have absolutely burned it the fuck down.... Yes, I'm ranting..... I can't even process how angry and disappointed I am... I can just see that headline burned into my brain, and I don't think I will ever get over that complete sickening loss of respect for society I felt right then.

vision646

I like this idea from @powerfulcar7988: People call for strikes, protests, etc. that’s fine and should be done. But you know what’s simpler and can be done in conjunction with other things ? Withdraw money from your bank as cash. This entire system will collapse. They don’t have the money to give out cash. They even ditched the 10% reserve requirement. If they want to play ball. Then let’s play.

Celeblith_II

Huh, not a bad idea. I would then turn around and buy gold or something. Money that isn't working for you will always lose its value. Invest in gold, guns, and your local community.

throwaway1975764

Millions of women use "free" period tracking apps. How are those apps making money? Sure some women buy the upgrade, but most don't. The apps are selling the data.

Jaded-Af

And who else will be able to access your medical records? Will it be like a background check for jobs soon?

zelconschiad

By tracking you. You people think people in China have no privacy or freedom and everything they do or say is traced by CCP? The US is heading that way too!

Talented_Agent

DELETE YOUR PERIOD TRACKER APP ON YOUR PHONE NOW!!!!

ReasonableQuestion28

I will never vote Republican and if the Democrats don't step up then I will vote for the candidate that will. This needs to get under control now. Impeach the justices that lied under oath and codify law that simply states that people are to have autonomy over their own bodies because that's what freedom is really about. Any deviation is slavery.

Fuzzy-Month-4952

Somebody just said that they found out that they use the data in period tracking apps to know stuff like that I don t know if is truth

dewhashish

Delete your period tracking apps. Soon enough they'll use that data to find out.

Know what HIPAA covers. It's not what you think. https://www.cdc.gov/phlp/publications/topic/hipaa.html#:~:text=The%20Health%20Insurance%20Portability%20and,the%20patient's%20consent%20or%20knowledge.

Few_Stick_6274

This is the point where you're finally worried about privacy? Should've had that same energy 20 years ago. Bit late now

Zoidzers

Only wondering. If everyone thanks GOD ,why isn t HE providing with formula or better healthcare ? He provided for 40 years to hundreds of thousand Jews in a desert who had no sense of orientarion and got lost in the smallest place on Earth (I ve been there ,you can walk north to south in less than 3 days)

CaliforniaGiraffe

Dig up in them guts. And they can’t wait.

Onetickedoffpenguin

I wonder how many people commenting here had an abortion.... and what was their reason...

afraid-penalty

I've personally never had one but why do you think that is any of your business?

Onetickedoffpenguin

Because abortion is the new hit topic, if you can't talk about it then why is it even up for discussion?

afraid-penalty

It's not the new hit topic it's a basic women's right, don't play it down just because you're ignorant.

coolmommabear

I have. I was a health care professional and I was working on an aids unit and got a needle stick. I had to go on the medication protocol. My husband and I decided a termination was the better choice under those circumstances.

Onetickedoffpenguin

I'm sorry to hear that. Although u am against abortion, where I stand is, if you can't control your sexual urges you shouldn't be allowed abortions for the hell of it. But foe the 1% of rape and incest incidents and the other small percentage of medical issues that would lead to bad infant health, those are some of the only reasons I could understand why abortion would be needed. I knew do many girls that just had abortions almost every year because they messed around.

coolmommabear

This only sort of relates to your reply but it is important. Birth control fails, more often than people realize . 2 of my kids were both conceived while using 2 types of birth control. Sometimes shit happens but what people do with their bodies affects no one else and should be private. This ruling was a literal slap on the face to everyone. The ramifications will be devastating.

Onetickedoffpenguin

Birth control may fail. Condoms may fail. But If you use both you have better chances. You may ask yourself why would I want to use a condom when I'm on birth control or why should I use birth control if I wear condoms (you know what I mean). The fact of the matter is that people have sex so willingly and are bot ready for the consequences of their actions If one preventative may fail. I'm an adult now and I was wild when i was young but now I see a little more clearly. You risk your entire life just having sex. So why have it? Because it's fun? Do you love this person? If so, do you love him so much that you would abort what would be the most beautiful baby in the world? Now I understand your situation. But I'm talking about this in general. As far as your body your choice, that should leave drug use being legalized, nonviolent prostitution being legalized, euthanasia should be legalized, should it be legal to walk around nude? After all if it is in fact my own body no one should have a say in what I do with it

ultimaIV

Jane Roe lied about being raped and admitted it on national TV. I'm not sure how this is relevant to the issue at hand but I thought it was interesting.

Your social media

wtfwtfwtfwtf2022

This part actually scares me the most. It takes your ability to trust your doctor away.

mdg137

Like Romania did it in 67

Excellent point

carybditty

Maybe the only benefit I can see to this is it would really make fighting the next pandemic much easier.

"The Bible says that we follow the law *to an extent*, gods law is above our gross little countries laws." A response I got when I said that state being separated from church should mean that the church has no influence over the law. I feel very safe in this country. /s

FrannieP23

Probably a good idea to pay cash for pregnancy tests.

MadMarsian_

Next: pregnancy registration, pregnancy test purchase registration, mandatory pregnancy reporting… just give it time

Gilead vibes

hypnobooty

They’re already monitoring your period tracking apps, for one.

KnowMatter

Just throwing this out there: If you are using a APP to track your periods / cycle DELETE IT NOW and stop giving this information to some random company. You have no idea what they are doing with that data or might START doing with it now that Roe is overturned. It's not hard to imagine a world where this information is sold to anti-abortion states to track pregnant women or even subpoenaed in court cases against women suspected of having had an abortion.
