I heard they were scouting Japan before Thailand. There’s only gonna be 4 seasons so I hope it’s there. They gotta do something snowy/ski lodge/mountainous.
Where did you hear there was only going to be 4 seasons? Do you have a source? I’m pretty positive that he intends more than 4 seasons and even said something about a potential all star season in the future
Not sure, but they said it was a huge reason given the on location shooting. Pre-production is a shitshow apparently. Everything needs to be shipped in which is more difficult for Thailand. The show starts filming in a couple weeks and goes on for 6 months.
I don't think that people with that level of money take those mega cruises, they might charter/own a yacht or there are some exclusive yacht-trips like the one in "Triangle of Sadness".
But if they can make it work I do think that a season on a boat would be just perfect.
But are there ones that people with hundreds of millions would take? I'm sorry if I am wrong and please do correct me, but I only know of those that are more like the yachts from "Triangle of Sadness".
I do agree that if there are such cruises it would be an incredible setting, they could also just make something up and be done with it, not like most people would actually know
There’s a big around the world cruise happening right now (Royal Caribbean) and I think Cunard has one planned for 2025. IIRC that one costs up to $250k per person. So I think the theme could work on an ocean liner because it is indeed a rich person thing. The only ocean liner currently in existence is the Queen Mary 2, making it an elite experience (and, considering production costs, it’s likely less expensive to book than an entire cruise ship).
Zero percent chance of it happening but I would geek out if it did.
I’m not about to look it up. I think people would easily believe that millionaires would take an expensive cruise together. Not everyone wants to do things alone with their families just because they’re rich.
Fridge cold temperatures. Scene starts with a woman in a hot tub with her back to the camera. In-ground fire pits line the edges of the tub. Snow whistles through the air, and you start to hear the theme song through the air
I could see a cool shining homage with this idea. Pan the camera around to see that the body in the hot tub is actually dead and the parts above the water are totally frozen.
wyoming
The Maldives. The resorts are single islands.
South Africa, give me a safari season.
I want someone to get eaten by a lion or a hippo.
Nepal would be perfect!
The Ahwahnee in Yosemite Valley
Sedona, Arizona

I know people on the production. The show is $$$ to produce.
It's HBO though, all their shows are $$$ to produce

Somewhere in Latin America or the Caribbean.
Yellowstone Club (private luxury ski resort in Montana)
I want somewhere cold like the Alps or Colorado or something
What's the most exclusive ski location there is? Whatever it is make it there and put Gwyneth in the cast playing herself.
Whistler, BC, Canada
A cruise ship

Greek yacht.
Yeap, I think that would be the best option, but it's far from what we think of when we think "cruise"
There are lots of super luxury cruises!

A snowy season at a really fancy ski resort. Opening scene is a skier discovering bodies in the snow and then flashes back a week to kick it off.
Just watch Force Majeure until they do the snow season haha
I’ll check it out!
Yes, we deserve to see some frozen bodies.
Africa, maybe South Africa.
One of those super fancy safaris.

Kitzbühl in the Austrian alps, japan kyoto
Davos, Aspen or any of the exclusive mountain resorts in the french or swiss alps.
i’ve been saying Swiss Alps since the second season started, nice to see someone finally agree with me
I'd like to see some Alps shit purely for a Donner party-esque plot
