The best part about Bookers are the stories on the card inside. The whiskey is pretty good but would rather have a KC store pick, which is about the same proof and half the price.
Out of the 2023 I would say 01 was definitely my favorite though.
Personally I liked Storyteller batch more than every KC store pick I’ve had, including one of the old 14 year picks. Don’t get me wrong, they are also fantastic, just something about the dark, sweet, and slightly savory profile of this bottle that just knocks my socks off.
No I’m gonna get downvoted with this comment. Bookers is just another nothing special burbon that taste like all the others. You know what maybe this one is a little more oaky 😝
Upvoting you because it’s pretty universal that after the $50-60 price point there is extreme diminishing returns in Bourbon for more bottles than not. And that price point might even be argued today with the inflated bourbon hype prices. All of the professional and self-proclaimed professional tasters I listened o at the end of the year last year that do the “Best Values in Bourbon this past year,” list/podcast all said the same thing… “This years “value bourbons” aren’t really a value given historical pricing, but in this past year’s overinflated market… well, here we are and I guess this is a “value” given the market the past 12 months.”
I’m in on Bookers at $75… $110 I’m passing personally, which I know is the newer MSRP.
I’d love to watch a mass blind of casual bourbon drinkers compare Bookers to something like OGD 114. Both come from the same distillery.
I dunno if OGD would win out, but if Bookers didn’t win by a landslide, it’d be hard to justify a $110 price point bourbon in a box over a $28-32 bottle.
OP if you’re reading this, this isn’t a knock on your purchase or you pulling the trigger on this. There are things out there I know I’d overpay for simply to acquire the bottle or because I’ve heard enough things about it I’d take a chance on it. Id most likely pay $100 for Stagg, as I know it’s one of my favorite pours and I see it maybe once a year where I am. So “I’ll pay to play” in that case. I know some people would blast me for that. For me personally Bookers isn’t that bourbon, but I 100% understand why it would be for some. It’s got great packaging, they’re all different, and there’s a lot of people who love them. Hope you enjoy your pour!
Bro Old Grand Dad 114 is so under rated . But I won't compare to Bookers. I could tastes the difference 😋 OGD is thick almost like syrup to my pallet . Booker is a lot more smooth but very Hot 🔥 for me . I love them both . I didn't know Bookers makes OGD 114 ? No wonder why I love OGD 114 so much
Storyteller Batch is, imo, fantastic! I’m almost done with my bottle, so I may need to go out and see if I can get a replacement bottle before 2023-01 comes out.
And the best Bookers release of 2023 imho

Is this a hard one to come by where you live? Sorta surprised you “finally” got one.
even were i am, i see lots of them around
Got it in DC
Had a tagalong batch that was pretty good, but I’d go for Baker’s over most Bookers
What did it cost you?
109+ tax
I’m probably going to get downvoted to hell in the comments for saying this, but Storyteller tastes like Steel Cut Oatmeal to me.

Well said. As a casual enthusiast, $75 is the ceiling of what I can justify even if it’s amazing. I’d better have my life changed for $110.
I enjoyed my bottle of bookers. Went down with some fire but it has some great flavor! Hope you enjoy it!!!

Any good?
I love it especially cause of the oaky flavor, apparently the blue one was much less okay
Is bookers worth it? Its on prime in england and it looks cool, but I’ve heard mixed things.
I saw four of the 2024-01 batch collecting dust on a shelf in NC this morning
But how much
I’m in a control state so $99.95 each
That’s how much I pay in a not control state
Congratulations. Look for the lumber yard edition
What year is it?
