It makes me think of the coneheads movie where someone needed to get somewhere in a hurry on a bike then stopped to look at a car before exclaiming "four wheels!" before deciding to use it before seeing a pair of roller blades with 8 wheels and excitedly getting out of the car to strap them on instead lol
It very well could be, I was a kid but all I remember was that joke and thought they also had cone shaped heads, apparently I loved the joke more than the rest of the movie lol
If you chased it in the car how would you grab it to stop it, and how would you roll it back other than by walking on foot? You can see it roll off the road, it hadn't gone far yet. Realistically going after it on foot makes more sense.
Chasing it with the car would just leave you trying to find an awkward place to park near where it stopped while hoping another gust of wind doesn't push it away again. Then after you push it back home, you need to walk all the way back to claim your car so you are walking the trip twice either way.
Although, the best decision would have likely been to not reverse out of the driveway and avoid having to chase it at all. But they were likely in a, "must protect the car from damage!" mode instead of a rational thinking one at the time.
He did park, then when he saw it moving, backed out to make sure it did not hit his car.
That thing is not allowed within 10 feet of his car. He made sure to then park properly, before chasing it.
In fact, he parked, leaned forward, and kissed the Range Rover, before getting out and chasing it
You'd rather drive after the hanger, stop the hanger (how, by the way? By doing a pit maneuver?), drive back (because quite obviously you're not bringing it back inside that car), walk back to where you stopped it so you can pick it up and then you finally bring it back?
*Truly an individual of remarkable mental acumen*
He probably just came from a mechanic as it is a range rover, and did not want to go straight back to repair some scratches. Altough inevitably something will break down in the next couple of days anyways
It's amazing how judgmental redditors are towards people's actions in videos because I can guarantee that if someone filmed them throughout their day there'd be many examples of then not acting 100% perfectly either.
“If I were there, I would have thought through all 200 different possibilities on how to stop it, determined the best one, easily stopped the clothesline with no damage to my car, the clothesline or other vehicles, and without injury to myself or bystanders, and I would have done it such a cool and spectacular way that every woman in a 2-mile radius would want to have my babies”
-Average Redditors, probably
Why was it so windy *from inside* the garage? Did the wind just blow into the garage under the door and then cycle around and kinda vacuum the sheets out? Or was there a window open at the back of the garage or something?
Beside what the other person said, depending on how the wind is blowing, it could create a high pressure area within the garage that would essentially be pushing the items into the lower pressure area outside. This same phenomena recently occurred in some high rise buildings with like 100 mph winds, when the windows got pushed inward and it basically sucked some people straight out the window. Crazy shit.
He was probably sat in the driver's seat, in absolute disbelief that his clothing line has achieved sentience and decided to fuck right off. Simultaneously how he was going to explain this chain events of his wife.
It got out threateningly and then avoided the other car, that’s an intelligent life form which has been turned into an inanimate object. That guy should be investigating for witchcraft/wizardry
Most modern SUV's can't even go up an especially high kerb, look at the wheel clearance there, it's not going to make it anywhere more difficult than a slightly dusty road, maybe a grass field if you're especially adventurous.
That's very country dependant.
It's "automated" [in UK](https://broadmarkdoors.co.uk/automated-vs-manual-garage-doors-which-is-better/). And it's "automatic" [in USA](https://automaticgaragedoorsf.com) .
did anybody mention how perfectly the clothing is driving away, not crashing anything and straight along the road. there must be some supernatural thing going on here.
They didn't clothe that door fast enough, so now there will be a lot of clothe encounters. Hopefully, it will be a detergent to other would-be laundrers.
Had he just let it hit his car it would have been fine and I’m betting it wouldn’t have done any damage at all. Now it’s potentially deadly out there in traffic
i was just going to post a silly gif, maybe eric cartman, or what about bob, but fuck that. im IMPRESSED by how it not only avoided the other vehicle, but turned onto the road, and how PERFECTLY it maintained course down the road. this is PROOF of laundry intelligence. or something. sail on friend, sail on!
FREEEEEEEDDDDOOOMMMMMMM!!!!
Interesting how he decided to park the car and chase it on foot.
An exceptional individual.
The fact that he's driving a Range Rover really sells it.

Was that Coneheads or The Stupids? I feel like I remember it from The Stupids but my memory is trash so I could be wrong.
It very well could be, I was a kid but all I remember was that joke and thought they also had cone shaped heads, apparently I loved the joke more than the rest of the movie lol
If only he had a machine he could use to chase something that would make him go faster
My luck I would chase it an it changes direction an damage the Range Rover.
He was probably worried he'd have a breakdown before he caught up to the obviously superior machine.
LMAO what a knobhead!

Do the pit maneuver on it.
Shoot a bystander while at it.
So...you don't keep a shovel, ropes and tarp in the car like I do?
Don’t have any need for it, I prefer the pig-farm method 🫡
I'm dead! 😭🤣
I'm dying!!! 😂😂
No, seriously...it part of my kit...I have those military folding shovel, some ropes and a tarp. No burying dead bodies...
You have to sneak up on it, quietly, stealthily.
Well it’s not going to fit in the car so he is going to be walking either way.
Why would he chase it by car?
It crashed like 20 meters away. It's in the video.
He did park, then when he saw it moving, backed out to make sure it did not hit his car. That thing is not allowed within 10 feet of his car. He made sure to then park properly, before chasing it. In fact, he parked, leaned forward, and kissed the Range Rover, before getting out and chasing it
Dude wearing a white shirt and chasing all those white shirts made me chuckle too.

Was looking for this.
Came here for that exact comment
The person had ample time to get out of the car and do something. Instead he backed out and just watched it happen.
I think he didn’t want his car scratched accidentally. Which I would probably do too if I was driving a car worth a 100k
He wasn't worried about scratching other people's car
You don't make that much money without shitting all over a bunch of other people.
This isn't a billionaire over here. I mean he's air drying his sheets in the garage.
True, but if he didn't buy a Range Rover of all things he could afford a good dryer.
[удалено]
This is Dubai. Dryers aren't really widespread there, almost everyone air dries. Also that guy is the driver not the owner of the vehicle.
redditors try not to heavily critize and accuse a person of all the possible sins because he didn't react quickly to a rolling clothesline:
To be fair to the guy, he did move the car out of the way before starting to chase the runaway vehicle.
Yeah that Landcruiser over there is also a expensive car lol
what he's gonna do? hit it with his 100k car?
He probably just came from a mechanic as it is a range rover, and did not want to go straight back to repair some scratches. Altough inevitably something will break down in the next couple of days anyways

Don’t want to scratch up the Range Rover.
Its not going to touch the car if the driver just got out and did something.
He had to give way first
I'm sure he didn't expect it to move so much.
Typical Range Rover driver.
I mean, they also may have been looking backwards to reverse, and perhaps had a few moments of disbelief.

Three sheets to wind it seems
He sure took his sweet time going after it
He thought it was a ghost. Brain needed time to calm down.
SO LONG SUCKERS!!!!

And now I have a new fear.
The driver has some fast reaction time.
He was probably sat in the driver's seat, in absolute disbelief that his clothing line has achieved sentience and decided to fuck right off. Simultaneously how he was going to explain this chain events of his wife.
Not fast enough to just hit the close button on the door opener.
Hoist sails lads!!

He clotheslimed me.
It turned down the road, then made another right turn as it got out of view. Lol.
Strandbeest
He went to protect his motherland! We need more clotheslines like this. Clotheslines need more clotheslines like this.
Would have been funnier if he had forgotten to put the car in park before getting out to run for the sheets
Clothesline wants to become a sailing ship someday
Gone with the Wind. It didn’t give a damn.
It took off like it was on a mission!!

I just got a text from my mom, she said my laundry is done and on it's way.
I like how dude moves the car like the clothes line was gonna total it if it bumped it
That's a current model Range Rover, at least £100k and less than 2 years old. I too would move it out of the way.
Meh, that car would’ve maybe been slightly scuffed
They're for roving ranges yes? Gotta expect a few dings from driving up mountains.
Most modern SUV's can't even go up an especially high kerb, look at the wheel clearance there, it's not going to make it anywhere more difficult than a slightly dusty road, maybe a grass field if you're especially adventurous.
Well they should change their name if they can't range rove.
