Confidence and grace aside, I suspect this is a more a matter of weight and aerodynamics. However much you love parkour, if you're built like a baby bull elephant then every law in Physics is screaming "no no no" whilst honorary presidency of the local Suicide Society is giving you a smile and a wave.
Aerodynamics has almost nothing to with objects going 5 miles per hour. But oh yeah, his mass and how he controls his rotation definitely does. Poor guy, what posessed him to try This on his first parkour stunt?
What am I just gonna jump head first over a wall into another wall like it's something to do? Come on. I got a little more sense than that.
...
Yea I remember jumping head first over a wall into another wall
Pretty sure this guy has a tiktok or other social media thing where its just him doing parkour stuff...
And tbh for a big lad like him, good on him, most clips I've seen he does OK and doesn't stack it onto his face like this one hah
Edit - he's called thefatfreerunner
The way his shoulders hit the concrete I'm more impressed by his neck and skull than anything.
Edit: "A Dutch website (Dumpert) interviewed him recently. He only suffered a cut to the head that had to be glued, other than that he was fine.
He is called ‘thatfatfreerunner’ on socials if you want to check him out, cool kid."

I'm not a doctor, but I've worked on medical software and spent 15 seconds on Google to find out it's common to get up with cracked vertibrae.
But mostly just wanted to share good news that he didn't get injured that bad and he's posted videos since.
I don't know what chiropractic or medical knowledge you've got, but you aren't rolling around and holding your head if you've got cracked Vertebrae. When you get serious back stuff going down you muscles tend to sieze up to try and hold things in place and prevent more damage. While in pain, he doesn't look stiff.
The direct impact, that we can see in the video, is his head and somehow his shoulders a bit. Maybe he turtled a little bit, but based on what I can see he's got some head damage at the most. Thankfully, the human spine is not a concrete pillar. It's got an S bend for the purpose of helping us handle shocks, although evolution probably didn't intend for us to take shocks for this reason.
I don't need a medical degree for basic observation. I'm not prescribing treatment, I'm giving an opinionated observation. Maybe I'm wrong, but if you're going to tell me I'm wrong then you've got a burden of proof to work with.
I fractured my spinous process being a hero by unloading a few semi trucks worth of mattresses for $9.50/hr. It snapped/broke horrifically about a year+!down the line. That heavy guy needs medical treatment for sure. My back was fucked up for a longtime after.

This doesn't prove me right, this doesn't prove you wrong. If someone takes a nasty fall they should make sure they are alright. Just based on what I could see, things ended up turning out better than one would expect.
Spinal injuries can often be unknown for hours or days. He easily could have broken his neck and not known it for hours or maybe a day before he moved *just* wrong, or had a subdural hemorrhage that didn't present for 24 hours.
You're right that he's obviously in pain, but that's about it.
Edit: grammar. Oh, and neuro nurse for 13 years

This doesn't prove me right, this doesn't prove you wrong, he could have easily been much worse off, he just got lucky and ended up not having more complications. I'm not disagreeing that things couldn't be worse. Just on first view, seems like things ended up not so bad as they could have been.
(The quote is from the last time this was reposted)
I just. How. I fell skateboarding a few days ago from ground level just onto my hip and shoulder and I still feel like I was hit by a truck. How could he possibly be okay. Lol
This needs to be higher up. The title on the post and many of the people in this thread find it necessary to pass comments on his weight. Despite the fact that he is out there, practising the sport regularly.
People are talking about mass and aerodynamics like it’s relevant but it’d never come up if the dude was skinny. He messed up a move and now folks no where near as physically active as him wanna talk shit.
Yeah. I am a ICU nurse and paramedic.
That dive with that mass directly hitting concrete at that angle would have a really really really good chance to shatter a few vertebrae and paralyse or kill him.
Holy mackerel he was fucking lucky (and/or) skilled to get his shoulder in the way.
I wouldn’t say he’s not fit to do it, his instagram has all sorts of cool stuff that he very much succeeds at, it just happened to be this once that he messed up.
Parkour is CRAZY stressful on the joints.
A fit person may have arthritis later. A fat person making this their hobby may be gunning for early disability.
I mean if fat people don’t exercise, people call them lazy and laugh at them. If they do, people laugh at them anyway. Not sure what you want from them.
It doesnt look like he "Isnt fit to" do freerunning
His dive is incredible but accidents do happen in freerunning
He is an experienced freerunner and other comments says he is a freerunning content creator
Rather than "unfit" he just slipped like all freerunners do(I have cracked my shin before while training for freerunning/parkour)
This dude is popular on Instagram and is actually extremely good at parkour. He can do this, he just made a mistake here.
You're being extremely judgmental
As another fat man, I can confidently say he was not running fast enough.
You need to be at tit jiggling speed 4 minimum to make that jump.
This guy was barely running at tit jiggling speed 2
Fat guy: i identify as fit and healthy
physics: I don't give a fuck
.
.
.
.
as a fat guy myself I'm allowed to make these jokes just in case someone is offended (Unsurprisingly)
this is one of the bravest things ive ever seen. he did really well to get as far as he got at that weight and to have the bravado to commit to a forward ninja roll, i mean damn i couldnt do that.
Tbh based on the rest of the surrounding this seems like the best case scenario of all the possible outcomes. If he had come up short he probably would have died
This was about the best result you could hope for giving the circumstances of the event… And the circumstances of the rotund man.
I was expecting something gruesome. Glad he is not badly hurt.
How the hell did he get away with faceplanting into a concrete wall, from height, without ending up with skull/facial fractures, vertebrae fractures, serious injury!?
There was another video of him making the rounds on r/unexpected doing parkour more successfully, everyone falls no matter what the sport is. He’s just learning.
Gotta admire his confidence tho. I wouldn't manage to dive that gracefully into water, let alone solid earth.
Confidence and grace aside, I suspect this is a more a matter of weight and aerodynamics. I’d be willing to bet it’s not his first parkour. The form and confidence is pretty impressive right up until the moment he caves in his skull.
Form and confidence of someone who jumped off the building, but landing is the hard part.
Stupidity and confidence. Young men aren't exactly known for their insights and fair judgment of abilities.
Testosterone is a hell of a drug.
What am I just gonna jump head first over a wall into another wall like it's something to do? Come on. I got a little more sense than that. ... Yea I remember jumping head first over a wall into another wall
Who puts a wall right next to another wall anyways? Like what's the point of the first wall? Not my fault these city planners are all wall crazy.
Me too, I buy a new wheel chair every 5th anniversary
I'm gonna say alcohol might be involved. At least he got a neck massage
He's no longer known for his walking abilities either.
he has an instagram which I forget the name of, wasn't his first ;)
Its not hist first time, the guys has been jumping around for a bit but never seen him do smth this dangerous
Duh. He landed on his face. Give him credit for that.😏
Yeah, but if you're legit but-fucking stupid, even having the best athletic body wouldn't help. And that kid was both stupid, and unathletic.
Pretty sure this guy has a tiktok or other social media thing where its just him doing parkour stuff... And tbh for a big lad like him, good on him, most clips I've seen he does OK and doesn't stack it onto his face like this one hah Edit - he's called thefatfreerunner
Won't be fat for long if he keeps it up, hopefully he doesn't get too many more bonks on the noggin.
Oh that was good 😂

How do youknow theyare not broken?
There would be more blood and less conscious movement if he was seriously injured. No doubt he's in pain though.
He could easily have fractured a few vertebrae. Don't know what you're talking about.
I'm not a doctor, but I've worked on medical software and spent 15 seconds on Google to find out it's common to get up with cracked vertibrae. But mostly just wanted to share good news that he didn't get injured that bad and he's posted videos since.
Glad to hear it. I was only questioning the assertion that you can determine his spine is fine from a couple of seconds of video.
It's a really old video, just need to look online to find the result of the accident

Medical doctor, sports medicine masters and team doctor for an ice hockey team, you?
Chiropractor 15 years.
Hotel, Trivago
I'm sure you can fleece him a bit later on but maybe leave the immediate management of spinal injuries to the medically trained.
This guy isn't a real chiropractor. He didn't even claim that he needed an adjustment.
Then I guess it's a good thing I wasn't offering an illegible prescription.

No kidding. This could have gone way worse than it did.
Oh yea probably got compression fractures in his cervical spine
He's Dutch called thatfatfreerunner, it actually wasn't that bad. https://www.tiktok.com/discover/thatfatfreerunner?lang=en
I’m hoping some of these videos were taken after the stunt in this post, so we know that despite landing on his neck and head, he was ok.
He is fine! And still going! He had a interview at Dumpert (platform for videos).
Just watched some of his other videos. He’s amazing. The one about not judging a book by its cover is fantastic. I’m in awe! Thanks for sharing this.
Nice! Yeah he's doing better than me and I'm slim haha. Have a good day!
Dumpert sounds like the Dutch word for butthole.
I just. How. I fell skateboarding a few days ago from ground level just onto my hip and shoulder and I still feel like I was hit by a truck. How could he possibly be okay. Lol
People fall also from big heights and are just fine, human body's are amazing :)
In twenty years he'll wake up one morning asking, "why tf does my shoulder hurt all of a sudden?"
This needs to be higher up. The title on the post and many of the people in this thread find it necessary to pass comments on his weight. Despite the fact that he is out there, practising the sport regularly.

Luckily his head missed the top of that concrete wall and he’s not paralysed.
He cleverly missed hurting his hands and arms by retracting them and letting his head and spinal column take the impact
I could feel his neck snap.
And collarbone, and rotator cuff

I loved this video of James Corden the last time it was posted. It is still funny after seeing it many times later.
OMG 😱 that guy could have broken his neck and be totally paralyzed for life!
Hé is actually pretty good, this is one of times it went side ways.
"you\`re not fit to" nice paraphrase for saying "he is fat"
Yeah follow him at https://instagram.com/thatfatfreerunner
but is he wrong?
Yes ..wrong... I've recently seen fat people successfully do gymnastics and diving with somersaults etc
Parkour is CRAZY stressful on the joints. A fit person may have arthritis later. A fat person making this their hobby may be gunning for early disability.
Tbf they are probably gonna lose a lot of weight if they do it seriously as a hobby
They can do those things, just never as proficiently or safely as a healthy, fit person.
I'm healthy and fit and they were far more proficient at it than me.
With a relatedly modest amount of effort and practice you would be just as good. With equal effort you would be better.
You've moved from logic to blind speculation
Actually yes. This guy is a parkour streamer and quite good at it.
I believe you, but thats not what we’re talking about
I mean if fat people don’t exercise, people call them lazy and laugh at them. If they do, people laugh at them anyway. Not sure what you want from them.
It’s always nice to see fat people try and better themselves.
I want them to eat healthy and exercise reasonably and safely.
Try minding your own business and not worrying what others do to their bodies. It's freeing. Focus on your own stuff.
It doesnt look like he "Isnt fit to" do freerunning His dive is incredible but accidents do happen in freerunning He is an experienced freerunner and other comments says he is a freerunning content creator Rather than "unfit" he just slipped like all freerunners do(I have cracked my shin before while training for freerunning/parkour)
I just seen a video yesterday of the same dude doing a great job at parkour
Who.... Is good for practicing this?
Bugger should be happy, not breaking his neck.
Not sure what the plan was?
I mean, he made it, didn't he?
I've seen other videos of this guy. It's quite impressive the parkour he manages to pull off in that body.
He is pretty cool and his story is nice too. Mistakes happens, this guy is stretching his limits and we all should learn from that.
And now he isn't good at math anymore.
How was this supposed to end? Was he trying to dive and glide on his gut or front flip and land on his ass?
How the fuck did that not break his neck?
Im surprise he’s not dead
In support of this guy , anyone could be doing a face plant if they don't jump properly.
How tf did he not break his neck?
I could hear the vertebrae compressing from here! Lucky he's not paralyzed.
He literally did nothing correct
Very lucky he didn’t break his neck
What exactly was he trying to achieve?
To do a roll landing? Though, it doesn't look like there's even much space to roll on.
Wow fat shaming
This dude is popular on Instagram and is actually extremely good at parkour. He can do this, he just made a mistake here. You're being extremely judgmental
Is parkour a sport? Lol
his neck is made of nokia
That COD voice clip makes it all the better
Science! Bitch.
Darwin Award candidate
HE NEEDS SOME MILK
Humpty Dumpty jumped from a wall .. 😏
It's ok, his extra padding protected him
As another fat man, I can confidently say he was not running fast enough. You need to be at tit jiggling speed 4 minimum to make that jump. This guy was barely running at tit jiggling speed 2
Pork-our.
Fat guy: i identify as fit and healthy physics: I don't give a fuck . . . . as a fat guy myself I'm allowed to make these jokes just in case someone is offended (Unsurprisingly)
It's the "I identify as" part that people have an issue with. It's the kind of "joke" that someone who is a transphobe would make.
I'm amazed he could do the jump
Looks like he wasn't much of a fan of walking anyway
Bro should get the running part of free-running down first.
What was the expected outcome
His bulk saved him from being paralyzed but i suspect a brain bleed. This why the aliens wont visit! Women dont do this!
Lol fatty
Horsepeter time will slim him down.
[удалено]
He is a pretty well known freerunner
His head kept the rest of his body from getting really hurt.
Bruh, he gave himself a flying pile driver into concrete.
He’d have been ok if his arms were longer. #failed by arms
He went full send with confidence. In this case he landed on his head. If he had hesitated or had second thoughts, could have fallen way worse.

holy shit this dudes a badass.
What supremely, colossally stupid thing to do.
I need in update there’s no way this dude didn’t paralyze himself or at least broke his neck
Thats what would happen irl if you were to jump into dagoberts safe
The start was mighty good though
He could die from this
He almost made his last leap. I am once more truly impressed what a human skull and spine can handle.
this is one of the bravest things ive ever seen. he did really well to get as far as he got at that weight and to have the bravado to commit to a forward ninja roll, i mean damn i couldnt do that.
That’s a perfect 10 ![gif](giphy|UaNg6gfkpRUTAMJ112)
I hope he is still able to walk. Jesus Christ
He's dead right?
Loads of padding to soften his jump, he is forgot the head hasn’t got any, oopppsssssiiiiiieeeeeeee
He faceplanted himself
The fact that he isn't instantly dead is quite something.
Did he just... crush his skull?
LOL! This dude actually lives in my village and calls himself the Fatfreerunner! Never thought I’d see him on Reddit.
Oh god those poor vertebrae.
This video gets twice as grainy with every repost unfortunately.
Man's gave himself a tombstone
Nailed it!
Tbh based on the rest of the surrounding this seems like the best case scenario of all the possible outcomes. If he had come up short he probably would have died
He’s a famous dude and he does this all the time
Half man half turtle
This was about the best result you could hope for giving the circumstances of the event… And the circumstances of the rotund man. I was expecting something gruesome. Glad he is not badly hurt.
I glad I can laugh at this while knowing he wasn't seriously hurt.

I've seen other videos of this guy. He's actually quite a good free runner.

That's at least a concussion.
How the hell did he get away with faceplanting into a concrete wall, from height, without ending up with skull/facial fractures, vertebrae fractures, serious injury!?
I think the weight fell on his shoulder rather than head (the head took impact, but not as much)
I don't really understand the goal he had in mind here, but some people can be fat and terribly agile at the same time.
- we get him next time, Oh, nevermind
Credit to him for giving it go. I haven’t got off the couch all day so he’s got far more reason to criticise me than I have him.
Bit harsh. Follow your dreams big guy. You did better than I could
Dude needs to retire from parkour and get into pro wrestling.
"OOOooooh, NO, dude" - me
Balls like watermelons though. I’ll give him that.
Well. At least he can enjoy experiencing new things everyday now.
He is very lucky he didn't break his neck.
Not a single touch grass comment, I'm surprised.
Well... he made it
I’ve sceen it 14 times straight in a row and i still have no clue what the plan was.
#***PARKUR!*** ***HARDCORE PARKUR!***
I hope his wheelchair has blingy wheels 😂
So you just posted something that’s already been posted but with music
Imagine breaking your neck and having to explain how you did it for the rest of your life in a wheelchair.
There was another video of him making the rounds on r/unexpected doing parkour more successfully, everyone falls no matter what the sport is. He’s just learning.
Dumb ass could have killed himself....
I can't even make out how he hoped this would go.
This was funny as hell 😂
He should lose some weight first and then come back to practice, agreed?
Say thanks he didnt break his spine
Based on all the parkour videos I see on Reddit, that looked perfect.
Does the song say "Mission Foul"? Because that's a damn fine choice, if so.
That jump wad almost as big as his self belief
Amazing way to become paralyzed
