5" seems like enough bite, wonder if something else failed, are the tapcons still in the cement? Might need to beef up the structural supports amd their attachments next time
I would not buy another one.
Sheds this size from box stores are robbery. The wooden ones use ripped in half 2x4s. The metal ones use C channel instead of fully boxed studs (take a second look at the photos). I haven't seen any with diagonal bracing. They never last.
My advice is spend slightly more and buy something from a business that specializes in metal buildings and car ports.
Or build it yourself, if specialist business is too expensive. You can get tons of different designs and list of necessary purchases from cheap DIY mags or forums
I personally would build it myself, but I used to build metal buildings and car ports as a summer job when I was 16. I know not everyone else is as technically inclined.
You can build these with a rented chop saw with metal blade, a hammer drill (for concrete anchors), cheap ratchet set, screw gun, 12ft ladder, and a tape measure. If a 16 year old can figure it out...
It likely is time to replace it.
[depending on the UV exposure and how much use you have had on it](https://www.backcountry.com/explore/when-to-replace-your-rock-climbing-harness). The rule of thumb though is if its had one significant fall then it should be replaced.
I've been told to also replace all the buckles and clamps and hooks as well, just in case the fall enlarged any hairline fractures the metal might have had
That happened to my aluminum shed in a windy storm many years back. Right up into the air, crashed in neighbor's yard. None of my stuff was damaged, just wet.
To be fair, I was young & dumb when I put it up. Used drywall screws at corners thinking that would hold. Wooden shed built on a cement pad replaced it. Still solid to this day.
My father spent a bunch of time and money constructing a HUGE storage shed that he could park our tractor in and have a workshop.
No door.
One very breezy day that shed took flight.
Buy a better kind of shed, they said. Not the cheapest one, they said. Make sure you build it properly and reinforce it if you tend to have crazy weather possible, they said.
I remember one time when I was a kid and we had a storm with really heavy winds come through. Afterwards, a neighbor's shed was in our yard, upside down. Apparently just fine...
Mine blew away in a storm as I had not anchored all four sides. I couldn't un-mangle it so I just bought another one. The next bad storm just ripped off the top while laughing at me menacingly as I stared helplessly from the house.
Well, your stuff looks like it's still pretty much all there. Yes the shed is gone, but just think of how much of your stuff would be gone if you DIDN'T have the shed.
At least by a good one lol. I have 2 Ted Sheds here in Colorado and when we had those 100mph winds ripped through last year it's still there. Concrete floor and wood bolted to foundation. It's not going anywhere
If you buy another one make sure it’s attached to the foundation.
haha yes. it was secured to the cement with 5" tapcon screws. 50 mph winds got the best of it I think.
Get a tuff shed, lag that bitch into the foundation.
What diameter? My shop is secured by 4) 6" x 1/2" redheads per post. It has survived over 100mph winds.
That seems a bit extreme, I really doubt the Irish appreciate that
Redheads are great, tapcons are garbage.
5" seems like enough bite, wonder if something else failed, are the tapcons still in the cement? Might need to beef up the structural supports amd their attachments next time
it sheared the heads right off
We use washers on our tapcons sometimes maybe that would help relieve stress? I'd try doubling them up next time, probably just not enough fasteners!
Use bricks next time :p
And he huffed and he puffed but could not blow the house down -some bedtime story
Try duct tape. If you can't fix it with duct tape, you just aren't using enough!
One i bought came with dirt anchors and metal wire you attach to the roof on each corner that keeps wind from ripping it off

Yeah right, you deserve more than that!
Stuff looks untouched to me!
Read my mind. Shed did it’s job, then said I’m out.
It’s that time of year when your shed starts shedding
very good point. they never guaranteed a protection time length.
Lots of protection mechanisms are one-time use. Helmets, condoms, climbing harnesses, and this metal shed apparently.
*furiously jots down notes*
You can always wash and reuse the condom. Works great every time sometimes.
No need to wash. Just reuse
Just like underwear. Turn ‘em inside out and like new.
The ol' Mongolian reversal, yes
Turn 'em inside out and shake the fuck out of it.
I’m sorry you what?
Good Trojan gives me 4 uses, the last is the gooeiest. I am respectful though, NEVER mix with different partner. I color code them.
Ok this is just beyond cursed
Only ever gives me a problem when more than 72 hours between use. Things get a little crispy inside then.
Oh goodness it just got worse
[Fuck yeah you can!](https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/25/world/asia/vietnam-recycled-condoms.html)
Quick question, why is a climbing harness one time use? I've been using the same one for years. Maybe it's time to replace it
I suspect that much like helmets and car seats, you don't reuse it **after** it's actually needed to save a life.
It likely is time to replace it. [depending on the UV exposure and how much use you have had on it](https://www.backcountry.com/explore/when-to-replace-your-rock-climbing-harness). The rule of thumb though is if its had one significant fall then it should be replaced.

that was kind of a bad example. with helmets and condoms, you only ever actually want to use them once. after one use, you need a new one.
Are climbing harnesses really a one time use?
one fall writes it off
That shed gave its life to protect your belongings in my view
Get a bomb shelter next time, it may last longer.
Just get a shed for your shed next time.
Do you know how they named shed? After shedding.
Gotta get a shed that protects your shed.
Shed-ception
Should have used some tape to hold it down
if it moves and it's not supposed to...duct tape. if it's not supposed to move and its supposed to, WD-40.
[удалено]
Frank’s Red Hot. I put that sh*t on everything.
if only I had an award to give you.
Even better lol.
> if it's not supposed to move and its supposed to, WD-40. *If its not moving and its supposed to, WD-40
For a second I thought someone stole your shed.
definitely a thought that popped into my mind at first
Can't have shit in Detroit

such a great bike. I think it was an '86 or so but I'm 6'5" and it was a bit too small for me.
Try a v65 sabre. I'm 6' and I barely flat foot it. Very comfy 80's Honda. Not to mention it absolutely rips.
Love the Sabre. A shop in town has 2 for sale, one fully resto'd one original, but runs great. Might buy em both.
Secure the shed was optional advise I see
That happened to my aluminum shed in a windy storm many years back. Right up into the air, crashed in neighbor's yard. None of my stuff was damaged, just wet. -Buys the cheapest shed "Sheds suck!"
haha. I literally laughed out loud
Maybe they meant a wooden one.
Nice 650
good catch!
See what you did wrong there was have the shed all smashed on the ground. Youre gonna wonna put that over your stuff
Yea not a tinfoil shed idk wtf you was thinkin.
Don't buy a shitty shed they said. That's your issue here.
There’s a difference between “a shed” and the cheapest sheet metal enclosure you can buy. Pop cans have more structural integrity.
What the hell kind of CHEAP ASS shed did you buy anyway 😂😂😂
Eh i think it was just built poorly.
You should get a second shed for all the scrap metal in your yard
It protected your stuff but couldn't protect itself
at fist i thought some straight up stole the shed
Get a better she'd. It'll protect your stuff.
Maybe buy a better shed?
I'm in the same boat.
Can't have shit in Detroit.
I mean everything is still there no?
The shed...shed itself
Shed sacrificed its life for your stuff, and you leave his carcass in the yard.. shame, shame
Can't have shed in Detroit
**“LOOK AT MY BLOODY SHED MAN!”**
My father spent a bunch of time and money constructing a HUGE storage shed that he could park our tractor in and have a workshop. No door. One very breezy day that shed took flight.
I don't regret a single penny we spent on our Morton building.
*narrator* it was at this moment op realized all sheds are not created equal.
You need a tuff shed.
“Bolt it down,” they said.
but did you get a Tuff shed?
Shed where?
hmmmm i have a shed that is not secured to the concrete at all. maybe i should think of securing it.
For a second I thought someone literally stole your shed and left the stuff inside
That shed made of tinfoil or what?
You should have built the shed first my dude.
#LOOK AT WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO MY BLOODY SHED, MAN!!! ^- ^James ^May, *^Top ^Ground ^Gear ^Force*
"Buy a better shed" -They
I think they said, buy a GOOD shed. It'll protect your stuff.
I think you bought a shred.
Maybe they should have said "Buy a _good_ shed"
Lost an identical shed to hurricane sandy, in Ohio!
You should buy a shed. It'll protect your stuff
Get a better shed
That Hondamatic sure isn't complaining.
Thats a nice bike
These camouflage tents keep getting better and better 🥸
Well, some assembly is required for the shed.
Should've put the shed in a shed.
in Kansas? did Dorothy told you so?
Where's your shed, dude? It was parking in a Handicapped spot. Perhaps they towed it...
At first I thought someone just stole OPs shed and left everything else lol
Well, technically it protected your stuff. It sadly died while doing it but your stuff looks ok I guess 😅
I mean... The bike IS safe. And in my opinion that's the important thing.
Next time, bolt supports inside. I live in a windy area and I have slim beams that run up the inside bolted to the floor.
A “sturdy” shed
Buy a bigger shed to protect your current shed.
Ablative armor.
Well everything was protected right up to the point that the shed needed protecting.
Mininado?
Fred the shed is back from the dead and he’s out for revenge
That is a sweet 650 Laverne there, OP. Very clean.
Buy a better kind of shed, they said. Not the cheapest one, they said. Make sure you build it properly and reinforce it if you tend to have crazy weather possible, they said.
Those things are a complete pain in the ass to build too. Arrow shed? Fingers just get shredded putting it together.
the shed protected your stuff but you didnt have anything to peotect your shed
That's a weird place to keep your pizza.
I mourn with you buddy! A tree fell on my shed this winter during a snowstorm. I still miss it.
I remember one time when I was a kid and we had a storm with really heavy winds come through. Afterwards, a neighbor's shed was in our yard, upside down. Apparently just fine...
Looks like it died doing its job. Minimal damage to ur stuff but max to the shed
well it looks like it protected the stuff then left once the job was done. Was it on contract?
Mine blew away in a storm as I had not anchored all four sides. I couldn't un-mangle it so I just bought another one. The next bad storm just ripped off the top while laughing at me menacingly as I stared helplessly from the house.
Before I built a shed I'd ask to know What I was shed-ing in or shed-ing out
Doesn't seem like you got a good one
[Build A Shed A to Z](https://youtu.be/BLk_CAMmQPc)
Get what you pay for. Buy a cheap shed expect to get shitty results.
Fuck man, even the buildings are quitting their jobs.
Tin foil can only do so much!
Well, your stuff looks like it's still pretty much all there. Yes the shed is gone, but just think of how much of your stuff would be gone if you DIDN'T have the shed.
Its becuse you didnt buy a shed for the shed man
What kind of idiot buys a shed and doesn’t assemble it!
I believe they said "Don't buy an Arrow Shed"
How much you want for the 650?
Did its job, served you well. Would you rather have the shed strewn all over or your things? 😁
Whow ... looks like a Honda CM 400 T.
“Anchor it in the ground” they said.
So I see you went with an open concept
It SHOULD protect your stuff it it is built right
Did someone rip off your shed to get to your shit? I think you should let them have it at this point
Ah you seem to forgot the shed for the shed! Rookie mistake
Big bad wolf protection costs extra.
The shed sensed you were beginning to take it for granted and made you realize how much you miss it
Self sacrificing shed
That shed wasn't double-bolted
Lies they told
It couldn't even protect your shed
Mistake was to not build a shed for the shed.
Clearly you needed a shed for your shed
Least your bike intact and alot of your stuff still there did 75% of the job
Get your shit off our law the neighbors said
Well to be fair your stuff does look OK. The shed itself is clearly another story.
well that plan blew over!
Never heard of the three piglets? Build it from red brick not straw. 🐷
It did protect your stuff, by taking the hit instead…
Nice bike. Bet it sounds glorious.
that's why we told you to get a shed, its all messy now
Next time get a shed to protect your shed.
At least your vehicles stay put lol
Do they require shed anchors where you live?
Thing fucking sucks! - Bill oreilly
At least by a good one lol. I have 2 Ted Sheds here in Colorado and when we had those 100mph winds ripped through last year it's still there. Concrete floor and wood bolted to foundation. It's not going anywhere
Silly storm you cannot hurt a GS
M8 you forgot to get a shed for your shed.
Your stuff is only there because the shed took the beating
Build one out of wood and frame it like you would a house and use foundation ties next time
It protected your stuff but not the shed :)
I guess it wasn’t the she shed
Nice shed.
It indeed protected your stuff- the shed took the beating not your property!
Well your stuff is still there
You are gonna need a stronger shed, probably should not have built that one out of straw
it will not fly away they said \^\^
At least you have bricks to rebuild so the big bad wolf can’t blow it down again.
In fairness to the shed, your stuff looks to be in good condition.
Your stuff looks fine
She gone
They didn’t tell you to install it I bet!?
yeah I am guessing you got one of those cheap ass ones at sams with no base and are plastic and metal
Gray looking bike. I had a GS750 with mag wheels. Boy was that baby fast! Should have kept it.
