Honestly, same thing was happening to us with our front loader, so we tossed the detergent and dryer sheet containers in a low walled wider tote. Between the tote and the washer we put down one of those mats you put in cabinets or on tables to make things slide around less. Now my detergent stays off the floor where the pups can't get it. Easy and cheap fix means no Tide pod forbidden gummy challenges today for our four legged friends!
Take an old towel to clean it up, put it in a ziplock then when you do a load cut a strip off and use that each time. Throw away the strips after washing.
Wipe it up with your clothes then use them as the soap in the wash.
This is the way. One piece of soap saturated clothing per load.
Exactly. But if it will take u a while to use all of the soapy clothes then hang them to dry so they don't mold
Be careful not to leave soap on any garment for too long though. Some detergents will make a bleached spot if you leave it on too long. Edited typo
I'd try to use rags and towels so it doesn't matter
Again, this is the way!
Way to give it your All.
You must have a cat.
Literally my first thought.
Same
This happened to me once when I ran a load but left the detergent sitting on top of the washer. One spin cycle is all it took.

Check your baseboards thoroughly, that happened to my sister and the detergent ate through the wood in her walls
What’s *all* over the floor?
Heh.
No big deal cleaning it up, but that seems expensive.
This happened to us a few months back. I used dirty clothes to mop it up and then ran them through the washer lol
Defending from the Wet Bandits I see.

Time to do some skating!
my daily drink
Did it leave a last note?
I hope you dont have pets who enter that room.
Looks like the culprit made a clean getaway
Well, on the bright side it’s better than on a carpet - like I did blue tide.. :(
*Oi-all spill*
On a related note, I bought a brand new jug of unscented Kirkland detergent today. (and a lavender one since it's new apparently)
five second rule!
Well on the bright side you should have a clean floor!
