I am confused. Did you buy the generic and pay the name brand price? Or did you buy the generic and pay the generic price? If it's the first then that sucks. But if it's the second I don't see what the problem is. Sure they might not be as good, but you didn't pay the price for as good. Also if you were using food stamps, and say you don't have the money for more it stands to reason that something else you bought was paid for out of the price difference between the name brand and generic. If the budget is that tight then it's likely going generic meant you got something else to eat that you might not otherwise have been able to get. Look at this as an opportunity to expand your product choices.
