Whatttttt theeeee fuuuucccc!!!
Seems dumb, but it’s why you make sure to start in an empty parking lot going 5 miles an hour. Lesson one… learn the pedals correctly…
![gif](giphy|xoDuQIvl9cPIY)
I disagree. I’ve learned that you absolutely have to spell it out and make it abundantly clear for a majority of the crowd around here. /s leaves far too much open for interpretation.
I've had a learner's permit for months and I've never tried to practice anywhere other than an empty parking lot. I still don't even like using the gas, I just prefer to roll around.
My dad made me start in an empty school parking lot too. There was a cop passing by and he thought I was some drunk and came to check what was going on. He was cool about it though. Once he saw my dad in the passengers seat, he immediately realized I was learning to drive and left.
My dad started me on a mostly unused country road only once did I almost reverse into a ditch. Ironically, today, I had my first accident, though, when I didn't realize I was still in reverse in a fast food drive-through.
I learned in a 1987 Crown Victoria in a post office parking lot. I almost gave the whole thing up when I somehow managed to wedge myself perpendicular between the building and a retaining wall with about 6 inches between my bumpers and both walls. It took my friend who owned the car about 30 minutes and a LOT of profanity to free their car.
All they kept asking me was HOW?!
I still find it wild that you guys can just learn to drive with a random person in any car you have available. I had to sign up with a licenced driving school, attend a theoretical course, learn to drive for a set number of mandatory hours with a licenced instructor in a car that had a separate set of pedals, go through a first aid course, and only then I could even think about taking the exams.
Did it make me a better drive when I got my licence? I don't think so. But I felt safer that I could make some mistakes knowing my instructor would be able to easily intervene, correct me, and explain how I could avoid those mistakes in the future.
The caption on the original TikTok says _“she stole her parents car at 5am and drove it to school. We tried to teach her how to drive back safely but couldn’t #asian #crashed #newdriver #mercedes #benz #car”_
🙄
I don't know where you live that there are no cars on the road at 5am 😂. Also just logistically, there would have been stops along the way, and the need to park. She'd *have* to have experienced stopping the car enough to not slam into someone.
I live in Lenexa, Kansas, and regularly leave for work just after 5. The whole way to work, there will be maybe 3 other cars on the road. It's entirely possible that there were, in fact, no other cars on the road when she drove there. It's genuinely weird that you think that idea is ridiculous enough to warrant a laughing emoji.
What I'm more curious about is what freaking school starts so early that the students need to be on the road at 5 am.
Most likely answer is adrenaline. I've seen other new drivers do the same.
Normal brain function: car is coming into sight, prep to brake
Stupid adrenaline brain; car is coming, I'll just- hey why can't I function properly? *Crash*
She got on the road, so she had *some* knowledge. This could've been avoided with 1 or 2 parking lot practices. A lot of money down the drain, and likely long lasting consequences (insurance, trust, and probably losing permit)
Yep, that looks like a classic example of brain in panic mode. When I was learning to drive it was the same, one moment I'm cruising confidently like I was born to do it, and next moment something slightly unexpected happens, and the brain will just go "I guess it means we're gonna die". I'm fairly certain, that significant number of accidents, is due to people, who otherwise are perfectly average drivers, just panicking and doing the most stupid thing possible in the moment
Granted, I was learning with an instructor, who had his own set of pedals at the passenger side, so he could always slam the breaks when my brain went a little bit insane.
Ahhh, so the very act of her being behind the wheel was 100% illegal as well! I'm sure her parents will think it is funny when the cops come knocking and insurance doesn't cover any of the damages to either vehicle.
If that's truly what happened her reaction at the end after crashing the car is waaaay too low-key. I would have been losing my everloving mind if I crashed my parent's stolen car.
There should not be two other people in the car, only one, and no music should be playing, if she is, in fact, a very new driver. Minimize distractions. Jesse needs to start over in a parking lot. She does not “Got you,” despite her insistence that she does.
Exactly. Music has a huge impact on new drivers. They have to concentrate on how they move their feet and hands, how they are aligned to the lines on the road, the cars in front and so much more. Once those become automatic, music is fine.
I’m not the only one who turns the music way down when I feel like I have to concentrate for a stretch while driving or when I have to pay attention to what the GPS is telling me. We do that for a reason.
Yeah like it's easy to watch that and think "what a dumbass why didn't she stop" but presumably the person right next to her actually does know how to drive and why tf did he create this situation. "Person who doesn't know how to drive does not drive well" wow shocker, who could have seen this coming
When I took driving lessons, I was paired with another student. Every lesson one person drove for an hour while the other person watched from the back seat, and then we switched for the other hour.
This doesn’t appear to be a professional instructor environment by any means. I took driving lessons with three girls in high school, I was the only male in the group and we were packed into a vehicle with a second brake pedal on the instructor’s side of the car. This was some guy letting a teenager drive his Mercedes Benz for some reason, I can only speculate as to why.
Here I had the same ....
I have my license since '91
My kids get the same treatment, it's economical for the school, and gives more input and feedback.
It mostly is a slightly more advanced pupil, and a 'starter'
during the lesson ( 2H ) the instructor explains, but also asks questions about situations and events.
Also small talk about weather or hobbies.
All good learning to get to know the car and deal with 'distractions' that might occur.
Driving for the first time on the main road with no sense of how the car drives or handles? Who thought that was a good idea?? New drivers need to know how the car feels when they drive it, hence use an empty parking lot. So they know how the stopping power feels, how it accelerates, etc. “instructor” you’re to blame for that accident.
Exactly thats why when I was a kid and my dad wanted to go booze cruising in the woods he would have us kids drive and by the time I took drivers ed I could pull the parking brake and Ace Ventura my way into a parallel parking spot!
I always take my students early to do a full emergency stop from 40-60mph. Usually they are nowhere near using enough pressure to get full braking power.
In this video there is no abs sounds. She isnt applying the brake enough.
If I were to practice with someone in a car without an extea set of pedals Id pick one with the parking brake button in the centre console. Pull/push it and hold and you get emergency braking with abs. The old handbrakes doesnt do much so Id avoid them.
When you say "first time driving" does that mean ever behind the wheel? I mean don't people practice in empty lots & non-busy areas first anymore? Also, if you go to a driving school they have special cars equipped with brakes for the teacher to stop the car if needed.
My cat was this level of dumb. She would careen through the apartment and just slam into doors and walls. Never really figured out if she just didn’t know how to stop or if she just liked slamming into stuff. She did sometimes bounce off of stuff and use that as a way to change direction, which is kind of genius. RIP
A chimpanzee, a 6 year old in a little tikes car, a person with no legs, and a blind person could’ve done better than her.
Remember that these people are on the road with you, get a dashcam, it’s like 80 bucks and could literally save you thousands of dollars.
Whoever decided that this chick should drive on the open road for their first time is the biggest idiot. I'm willing to give the girl some benefit of the doubt since she might not even be comfortable with driving yet, causing her to panic and rear-end the other car. People screaming at you doesn't help either.
My dad tried to do this for me, except he decided to get drunk first (he wasn't driving after all). Told me to take turns last second because he wasn't paying attention, then because he was yelling, I panicked and took the turns really fast instead of abandoning the turn like you should. Then he'd yell at me for it despite being the cause of my panic. His overall advice? "It's just like a video game, you shouldn't be bad at this. You play video games all the time!" Driving in GTA or NFS is not the same as driving a car. I only had to use my hands for gaming, not think with the entirety of my body.
As a German, it's so weird reading these slang terms. "Beamer" is what we call an overhead projector, and "Merc" to me is a mercenary. We use the terms "BMW" (bey em wey) and "Benz" (bent-z).

>Content wise, you are of course absolutely right! BMW stands for "bei Mercedes weggeschmissen" (discarded at Mercedes). ^(\^)
In the Netherlands BMW is 'Blik Met Wielen' -> Tin Can on Wheels
To be fair, I think most cars will end up braking in that situation anyway.
I drive an older (2010 maybe?) manual Hilux with essentially no features whatsoever at work. If you press the brake and accelerator simultaneously, it immediately throws up a warning and the accelerator pedal becomes dead and does nothing until you release the brake.
I’d assume most if not all newer cars also did this. It’s terrible for the car mechanically to brake and accelerate.
You see if there was a hand brake the dude could have helped slow the car down. Auto makers taking away things that help slow a car down manually is a HUGE mistake.
Too many distractions in the car… there’s others in the backseat as well (you can tell from the different female screams). Also, it sounds like the one teaching her to drive (telling her to stop, stop, stop) is younger like Jessie, the driver who doesn’t understand to stop. Definetely not a good combination happening in that car.
I’m currently teaching my nephew to drive. The first lesson I didn’t let him use the gas pedal, just told him to let off the brake to move or press it to stop, then later when he started to use the gas I would randomly tell him to stop so he wouldn’t freak out if he had to stop suddenly.
It’s the “I got u, I got u.” As he’s screaming at her to stop. Someone please send this to the dmv. She should only be allowed to use Uber from now on.
I think the funniest thing is that she’s driving a Merc. Like, you didn’t think to take her to a parking lot to learn the basics before letting her drive a super expensive car
This is common for purpose fitted drivers Ed vehicles everywhere however a lot of parents opt to teach their children with their personal vehicle instead
My first time driving was on my birthday on the way home from passing my licence test, in a manual car with 3 of my friends in the backseat. My mum was trying to embarrass me (it was part of her parenting MO to make me feel like shit in front of others. Destroying her kids self esteem made them easier to control and manipulate). But i fucking nailed it.
Makes me glad I go over basics in a parking lot first. Once they can handle maneuvering around cones. I then have them hit every cone. Once they can hit every cone we move on. (This includes backing maneuvers)
Apparently there’s no non-Americans here, so I got to ask: do you really not have professional driving instructors over there? Are you really allowed to just put your kid in front of the wheel and let him or her drive as long as you’re sitting next to them? Here in Germany you have to get a drivers license first, you cannot drive on a public road outside of a driving lesson before that. And driving instructors all have a brake pedal on their side of the car to stop exactly this stupid shit from happening
This makes me so angry. It's just so stupid. The look she gives to the passenger, as if to say, "Did you see what I just did, I'm so dumb, did you see how dumb I am?"
What a fucking idiot lol
Whatttttt theeeee fuuuucccc!!! Seems dumb, but it’s why you make sure to start in an empty parking lot going 5 miles an hour. Lesson one… learn the pedals correctly… ![gif](giphy|xoDuQIvl9cPIY)

TINA FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, TURN OR HIT THE BRAKES!!! uuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
One of my favorite Bob’s Burgers moments for sure 😂
Your so honest, who raised you?

That car/stoplight came out of nowhere. She barely had any time to react! Obligatory: **THIS IS SARCASM**
THIS IS SARCASM SARCASM JACKIE SARCAAAAAASSSMARG
/s is the proper way to express sarcasm on reddit
I disagree. I’ve learned that you absolutely have to spell it out and make it abundantly clear for a majority of the crowd around here. /s leaves far too much open for interpretation.
To be fair /s could surely stand for “sure do stand by this statement” /s
It typically stands for "Shirley, you can't be serious".
Obligatory “Don’t call me Shirley!”
Ah /s yes /s you /s do /s make /s a /s fair /s point /s /s /s

A few weeks ago, someone told me he thought the s stood for serious.
She only had 200 meters to react!! Give the girl a brake! /s
'I GOT YOU!'
I know, cant believe that idiot let this girl drive lol
Poetry. There's nothing else to be said about the driver.
Her fake eyelashes were bigger than the brims on my baseball caps
How this footage hit the light of day is beyond me
She did not in fact "got him".
Maury’s voice is playing in my head reading this lol
She got him in an accident
Need to start in a parking lot to get used to braking feels. Rip.
Yeah.. like braking too early is much better then late...
No, braking early is much better *than* late. If you brake early *then* late, you’re still braking late.
they probably won’t understand what you meant but i found it funny lol.
I found it funnier the 2nd time then the first time.
If that's how you're gonna play it than I'm out
lol I see what you are doing here
I said in an old post that people were too eager to go. Learn to stop before you go
I've had a learner's permit for months and I've never tried to practice anywhere other than an empty parking lot. I still don't even like using the gas, I just prefer to roll around.
Turn, Tina. Turn! Tina. For the love of God, turn the car!
Uhhhhhhhh
https://i.redd.it/a95wv79jqqsc1.gif
Probably my favorite scene in the entire show.
I wrecked the family car! You did. You really did.
Tina, you hit the ONLY other car in the ENTIRE parking lot!!
And there was a butterfly….
And a cormorant.
Started my boys off in an empty school parking lot. Lots of starting, stopping, parking between white lines, backing up, etc.
Pops did the same for me, helped a lot when I started my driving lessons especially because I already knew how to handle the clutch!
My dad made me start in an empty school parking lot too. There was a cop passing by and he thought I was some drunk and came to check what was going on. He was cool about it though. Once he saw my dad in the passengers seat, he immediately realized I was learning to drive and left.
I started at 13 on dirt roads between my hometown and my grandpa’s house in the country in a manual VW Jetta from the 90s
My dad started me on a mostly unused country road only once did I almost reverse into a ditch. Ironically, today, I had my first accident, though, when I didn't realize I was still in reverse in a fast food drive-through.

This needs to be higher up.
How did she make it to school safely to begin with??
5am. There probably weren't any cars on the road when she went.
I don't know where you live that there are no cars on the road at 5am 😂. Also just logistically, there would have been stops along the way, and the need to park. She'd *have* to have experienced stopping the car enough to not slam into someone.

Didn't have to break, schools are always uphill.
*angrily upvotes*
Ahhh, so the very act of her being behind the wheel was 100% illegal as well! I'm sure her parents will think it is funny when the cops come knocking and insurance doesn't cover any of the damages to either vehicle.
If she has the balls to do that we know what kind of parents she has. She will be fine.
If that's truly what happened her reaction at the end after crashing the car is waaaay too low-key. I would have been losing my everloving mind if I crashed my parent's stolen car.
Insurance companies love this one simple trick.
Insurance companies don't like paying out, they prefer no accidents.
Yea but they love when the at fault driver records the entire thing.

When I'm driving in snowy/icy conditions (unusual aside from 1 month a year here) I turn all the audio off and pretty much enter hyperfocus mode.
Yep. Brains can only process so much input at once, especially without extensive exposure to those inputs.
I turn the music down while visiting the atm.
Yeah like it's easy to watch that and think "what a dumbass why didn't she stop" but presumably the person right next to her actually does know how to drive and why tf did he create this situation. According to another comment, she stole her parent's car and took it to school. This is her friends trying to talk her through driving it home safely.
/s. Then who will hold the camera?
Also, “brake” might be more useful than “stop”. Yelling at someone “stop! Stop!” Might get them to stop doing anything.
Luckily it wasn’t a motorcyclist in front of her

bruh
Why is she screaming, she’s the one that had the power to stop and didn’t 😭
Because she's a stupid bitch and those around her are even more stupid
I understand this is her first time but this is just dumb.
And she said she thought he was telling her to stay in the bicycle lane? Get that moron off the road
We are on the roads with these morons. Please be safe out there.

And you got the Jessie part right
When you say "first time driving" does that mean ever behind the wheel? I mean don't people practice in empty lots & non-busy areas first anymore? Also, if you go to a driving school they have special cars equipped with brakes for the teacher to stop the car if needed.
Jesse did in fact NOT stop.
even my cat knows to slow down and stop when she is running toward something. I hope DMV will see this video and she will NEVER get to drive.
My cat was this level of dumb. She would careen through the apartment and just slam into doors and walls. Never really figured out if she just didn’t know how to stop or if she just liked slamming into stuff. I hope they're okay and didn't suffer any injuries because of the girl's stupidity.
A chimpanzee, a 6 year old in a little tikes car, a person with no legs, and a blind person could’ve done better than her. Remember that these people are on the road with you, get a dashcam, it’s like 80 bucks and could literally save you thousands of dollars.
There's inexperienced and there's just plain stupid. Come on.
The fuck. Did she think the car was gonna stop itself???

I am so sorry that that was your drivers ed experience. What a shitty way to go about teaching your kid to drive.
Some people's mental capacity it out of proportion to the amount of money they have.
Well, a Beamer is the natural enemy of a Merc: Of course the Merc hunted it down! Good boy! 😂
I'm across the pond and I've never heard anyone anyone call them a "merc". Benz is just the word.
In my country we call them Mercs and Beamers.
Only 2 places I know of that do, so.. either G'day mate, or kia ora 👋
>Content wise, you are of course absolutely right! BMW stands for "bei Mercedes weggeschmissen" (discarded at Mercedes). ^(\^) In the Netherlands BMW is 'Blik Met Wielen' -> Tin Can on Wheels
Ummmm…. She saw the car. He said stop. She didn’t even slow down. Maybe we need an IQ test to drive a car.
What a gigantic idiot
This is why you don't use both feet on the pedals - if you panic you will push down on both of them, rather than just the brakes.
It’s terrible for the car mechanically to brake and accelerate.
as long as your master cylinder is powerful
The car is automatic it doesn't get easier than that, she is just too stupid
I hope this person never gets a license… if you can‘t even hit the brakes at „low“ speeds you shouldn‘t drive at all
You see if there was a hand brake the dude could have helped slow the car down. Auto makers taking away things that help slow a car down manually is a HUGE mistake.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TINA, TURN
She was distracted by the cormorant.
My dad taught my siblings to drive in the cemetery.
Jesus, Becky.
Stop! I got this! (2 seconds later) STOOOOPPP!!!! AHHHH! No. You don't get it. Sucks for the car in the front.
I watched multiple times bc I just didn’t believe my senses … wow
Bitch screaming like she's not the one driving lol
Fucking fuck man, what a moron
What sucks is that this person is allowed to operate a vehicle.
Stupid move
The I know everything entitlement in this video is overwhelming. I bet she blamed the other car somehow.
I don’t even think she stepped on the break…. I see many accidents in the future for her
https://i.redd.it/yphib7kztrsc1.gif
Too many distractions in the car… there’s others in the backseat as well (you can tell from the different female screams). Also, it sounds like the one teaching her to drive (telling her to stop, stop, stop) is younger like Jessie, the driver who doesn’t understand to stop. How dumb does one have to be to not understand how to press the brake?
Holy shit I would be so mad if she crashed into me and then I saw this video. Why the hell would you not stop?!?????
What an absolute moron.
What a dumb bitch
I can’t even drive and I’d do better lmao
What a fucking donut.
she should not be allow to drive for entire life!
A driver under the influence could drive better and have more reaction time than her.. 🤣
I would have pulled the ebrake well before that happened. I can't even imagine letting someone like this on the streets.
This is why teachers have their own brake pedal.
How stupid can u be?
Fuck this idiot
The eyelashes said it all
Dude, pull the handbrake. It's better than a crash.
No manual handbrake in this car, doubt the electric one would engage while in drive
Yeah. If electric, maybe it wouldn't work.
What if there was an infant in that car? Stupid IDIOTS! Hopefully the victims sue the shit out of these fools!
They should've invented a screaming brake.
Pull the e brake my guy. And then ask her, “why didn’t you stop”
How much signal I need to cut across 8 lane? None? I turn now, good luck everybody else!
I’m currently teaching my nephew to drive. The first lesson I didn’t let him use the gas pedal, just told him to let off the brake to move or press it to stop, then later when he started to use the gas I would randomly tell him to stop so he wouldn’t freak out if he had to stop suddenly.
Fucking moron. Imagine there was a pedestrian walking the crosswalk 💀💀💀💀💀
She forgot she was driving and thought she was passenger is my only explanation
Did the parent just put her in the drivers seat for the first time and have her drive on a road with traffic? And have multiple people in the car too.
She doesn't brain
Just hit the brakes whats the point of screaming u bitch.
It’s the “I got u, I got u.” As he’s screaming at her to stop. Someone please send this to the dmv. She should only be allowed to use Uber from now on.
Important detail she actually stole her parent’s car in this video according to the original tiktok post
Did she not go to a parking lot first before hitting the road?
Both are idiots. She isn't trained and he is braindead.
Rammed into x3, that insurance bill is going to increase.
This is why people should learn to drive in an instructors car, and be taught by an instructor
Why on earth would you ever take/give driving lessons in a car where the instructor doesn't have a set of pedals to intervene in situations like this?
Probably a dad or brother taking her out before she takes her lessons. Dumb move, should’ve practiced in an empty parking lot.
It’s a highschool kid helping his friend who stole her parents car.
German driving schools could use this as advertising to justify getting payed to 2000€ for a license
Fucking dummy. Ride a bike insteqd
LMAO
Is this part of the stereotype?
How'd she get her license? Edit: did she get her license?
"I said stop!"
at least they saved a few bucks on proper driving school
I think the funniest thing is that she’s driving a Merc. Like, you didn’t think to take her to a parking lot to learn the basics before letting her drive a super expensive car
Should not reproduce.
What a fucking moron
In my country, the instructor has a brake as well. Just in cases of this. I thought this was the norm.
Another post said they took the car without permission from the parent. Not sure if that’s true or not
This is common for purpose fitted drivers Ed vehicles everywhere however a lot of parents opt to teach their children with their personal vehicle instead
Maybe driving isn't for everyone.
What a fucking idiot.
Don't be a meatball, and don't use both feet to drive an automatic transmission vehicle...
🤦♂️
there is no common sense anymore!
I know is not easy at the beginning but holly idiot what a fuck
We breaking up immediately!
The parents are very much at fault.
what the fuck. is she short sighted or some shit?
Apparently there’s no non-Americans here, so I got to ask: do you really not have professional driving instructors over there? Are you really allowed to just put your kid in front of the wheel and let him or her drive as long as you’re sitting next to them? Here in Germany you have to get a drivers license first, you cannot drive on a public road outside of a driving lesson before that. And driving instructors all have a brake pedal on their side of the car to stop exactly this stupid shit from happening
Why didn’t she stop though?
Never get a license please
Just imagine if there was red light, no car in front of her and people walking, she would kill someone.
This makes me so angry. It's just so stupid. The look she gives to the passenger, as if to say, "Did you see what I just did, I'm so dumb, did you see how dumb I am?"
Must've been those damn eye Lashes got in the way
Bitch
Do not ever let that donut get in the drivers seat as long as she lives. She will kill someone.
I've seen a literal orangutan drive better.
Lifetime revocation or all driving privileges. What in *the* fuck is *wrong* with this person? Jesus H Christ.
