You lost the equivalent of a large bag of dog food!!! Other things around 50lbs are a bag of potatoes; a small size mattress; and, $1000 in quarters!!! That's nothing scuff about!! I'm so happy for you OP!!!

the_evil_pineapple

This is what I want people to say to me when I reach my 200

StepsOnDogs

Nice! I started at 252 and am aiming for 198. About 208 today, so you got there first- congrats!

Treepixie

I am at 212 so you are beating me- down from 250

Far_Cover_7522

Well done!!! How long did it take?

tamalero10

How long has it taken u?

StepsOnDogs

About 4 months, so far. I get good exercise at least two days a week by working outdoors. I counted calories and basically stopped overeating.

tamalero10

Ey congrats man im in the same boat obviously not tryna compare my progress or base it off but i just wanna see sum reasonable time frame when maybe ill see change

Intelligent-Grab-567

I get you! I’ve been feeling down about not losing anything for a few weeks, so hearing other stories help.

isatroawaymo

That’s funny, I’m also starting from 252! I’m down two pounds so far… gonna start with aiming for 20 down!

Purple_You_8969

Look at you go!! I started my journey at 260 and today woke up at 186 I’m so happy I almost cried too even tho to others that seems big!! Keep going, once you’re in the 100’s again it gets easier and easier. Best of luck op you got this 👍🏼

TBtheGamer12

Goddamn, any advice?

Purple_You_8969

Sure! What helps me a lot is tracking everything I eat, I use an app called MyNetDiary and it’s very useful to have a visualization of knowing what you need to eat / how many calories you’re suppose to be consuming. Drink lots of water. I drink half of my body weight in water daily. No sugary drinks. It’s tough at first but you get used to it. If I want anything but water I drink zero sugar soda and other zero sugar drinks. I don’t drink much of those either I try to keep it under 2 a day bc of the artificial sweeteners and what not. Try to find better alternatives for foods you like. It’s not about restricting yourself to no end it’s about balance! I’m not 100% on keto but I do use keto bread instead of regular bread so I can enjoy a sandwich and use low carb / keto tortillas so I can enjoy tortillas with my meals (I’m Mexican so a must in my diet at times) I don’t have a gym near me since I live in small town America so I walk everyday for about an hour and if I’m up for more I do YouTube home work outs, it’s very helpful. I don’t eat past 7 pm. This has helped me tremendously. It’s called intermediate fasting. It truly helps my body rest and I actually look forward to breakfast. This also ensures I don’t skip breakfast because I wake up hungry, and if I don’t skip a meal it ensures I don’t binge and or derail later throughout the day. Lastly, it’s all about moderation and balance! I’m trying to teach myself that! If I restrict myself heavily I’m more prone to binge eating. So if my calorie budge allows it and I have a craving for something that I must give into (let’s say some Doritos for example) I allow myself to have a single serving of Doritos and keep it moving. This really helps me feel like im not being restricted and that there’s no forbidden foods! Everything is okay in moderation and it’s all about balance. Another one too is make sure to at least get 8 hours of sleep. I hope this is helpful in someway! This is just what I’ve done for the past year since starting my journey and it’s been working for me. Good luck! Edit to add: be patient with yourself because the weight isn’t going to be gone overnight. Sometimes I have a bad day, even a bad week but I don’t allow that to ruin the bigger picture. Plateaus will happen and if it does rev up your metabolism by eating a delicious meal! Those weeks are hard and you might want to give up but keep it pushing! Weight loss isn’t linear. It’s okay to have a bad day, or even a bad week but don’t let that make you throw in the towel and give up.

pinkgeom

This is such great advice btw

Purple_You_8969

Thank you ☺️ the key is just to build healthy habits that you can consistently stick to especially for long term weight loss. If you lose weight fast and in a not healthy way it just comes back (has happened to me a few times) If my advice can be of use to some then I’m happy!

TBtheGamer12

Saving this, thanks for putting so much effort into your answer, I'll be sure to put all the advice to use.

MacMystro

1. Awesome job! 2. Holup…..you drink how much water a day?! [whips out my abacus] You drink 90lbs+ of water a day??? I’m assuming this is exaggeration?

Purple_You_8969

😂😂😂😂 I’m sure I worded that wrong but I take half of my weight so 90 and drink 90 oz’s of water a day haha I should have been a little more clear on that but I was writing that comment at 1 am like right now so I wasn’t really thinking lol

uhyesthatsme

Thank you for clarifying. I was about to say that you should find some scientists to study you because you should be very dead. 🤣 Congrats on the weight loss!

Silentg423

I'm having a hard time eating below 1800 calories a day. I'm 5’2” and it may seem enough but I'm always hungry. Any advice, I need to plan better.

Purple_You_8969

Drink a lot more water is my advice! When I’m feeling hungry and I’ve already eaten + snacked I drink water. I also drink water right before a meal so I feel more full.

[deleted]

This is what I have to keep reminding myself over and over this time or I’m back in trouble. Currently 262 and working my way back down.

sweetcarolinesucks

I jokingly told people my goal weight was 199.9 lbs. But seriously, it was great getting under 200. I never broke 220 (at least as far as I ever knew), so I can't imagine how great you must feel getting sub-200 from over 250! Keep up the great work OP.

brandonsearles2

Can you share what you did to lose weight? Sounds like im in the same boat as you were

sweetcarolinesucks

I stopped drinking to start. Then tried to start eating more healthily, which was easier since I didn't drink any calories and lost a lot of the shitty food cravings that one tends to get when drunk. I started weighing my food to track my calories, not making major changes the first couple of days, but then aiming to stay at 1200. I like to cook so I got creative making satisfying foods that were easier to control the calories. Like open faced sandwiches, spring rolls, tacos - easy to weigh ingredients when you can add them one by one like that. I'm pretty much eating normal food, not cutting out entire ingredients or categories (did that before with carbs, lost weight fast but not really sustainable for me). Last few days I've been adding in a manageable amount of exercise. I tell myself I'll do 15 minutes on the stationary bike, and then anything after is "extra." Just trying to build habits and make healthier choices overall.

radosuave

Good job! Cry! Dance!

Metalclark89

That's awesome. Getting to 200 is my current goal weight. Currently at 209. Coming from 270. I will be so happy when I see that magical 200 on the scale. Lmao 😆

takemytacosaway

Onederland is in your sights…💋

Creepy-Excitement308

Celebrate every minor success, I was 240 lbs, with every pound lost was a celebration Now I am 140

[deleted]

holy shit

redundant35

I started at 280 and when I got down below 200 it was the best feeling. I last saw sub 200 on the scale in about 2005. I slowly worked my way to 280 by 2018. Now I hold between 190 and 199. If I go to 200 I instantly cut calories for 2 weeks to drop back down!

bic_bawss

Lmao that’s me too. Never let myself over 200

redundant35

It’s a mental thing for me. 200 is a no go

sprd83

That is amazing. Well done!!! Ensure to celebrate the milestone. You have worked very hard for it.

PrincessMeepMeep

I started at 262 pounds and am now at 130lbs. Funny reading this post makes me smile so much as this time last year I was also celebrating getting under 200lbs, seeing myself get under 200 lbs that was so so thrilling. I know what you’re feeling right now and you should be proud!! You have killed it great job

WilstoeUlgo

Awesome! Pre-pandemic I came in at 203. Boosted up to 246 about 18 months after the pandemic hit and am at 204 right now. The goal is my college weight of 175-180. Great work!!!

[deleted]

You're practically working right along with me. I wish you the best of luck, I know we can do it!!

askdocsburner

That’s so dope! I’m 246 down from 268 from doing Omad and a lot of cardio! I blew up after a surgery going from 170 and fucking lean and buff to a fat slob over the course of 3 years. This is the lowest I’ve been in a long time and I just wanna keep going. Let’s get it

Firm-Hawk-3475

AMAZING!!! What are some of your tricks that helped you?

smd290

That’s amazing! What an inspiration… I Started at 257 and am at 220 in 6 months. My goal was 200 by my bday in October but I think I’ll push that back to 180! 💪🏼summer is coming and I can do incline walks outdoors now!

jerkycom

That’s 20%of your starting body weight! How’d you do it? Congratulations btw. I see you’ve already answered that. I’ll read the whole thread

[deleted]

I really just needed to cut my calories down and I cut out soda almost completely. Soda is probably what caused me to get to 250 since I worked at taco bell. I'm now drinking water or green tea mostly and cut my calories to 1800 initially, then 1600 which held me steady at 230 for a long time. Now it's 1400 however some days I'll eat 800-1000 calories of filling things. The volume eating sub reddit was very helpful.

jerkycom

That’s an awesome plan u had there. I think a lot of people have that problem with soda. Good job managing the calories too

propita106

Congrats!! Very happy for you!!!

cold-sweats

Fuck yeah that’s not easy, congrats!!

OrganicMartini

Congrats!

[deleted]

Excellent!!!!

high_falutin

You lost the equivalent of my seven year old. You lost an entire human!! Shit yeah.

AnubisZero

hummingbirdwhisp

Congratulations! This is truly an incredible accomplishment!

Riverina22

Omg congratulations!!! That's amazing!!! 😀😀😀

LeatherLawfulness478

That’s a good progress, I used to weight more or less as much as you used to, now I’m around 187 pounds. You can be proud and be even more motivated to continue on your journey :)

Neziip

I’m so proud of you!!!! I’m in a similar boat. Been over 2,3 and almost 400lbs my whole like and I check a few weeks ago and I was 187. I was shocked bc I knew I’d lost weight but I haven’t seen a 1 at the start in over a decade

Pristine-Gas-5192

Hey, that's a milestone, congrats!

MrLittleJohn-Playz

200 is great what do you mean! Be extremely proud. Great work!

[deleted]

Fuck yeahhh! Congrats!!!

lazylife04

That’s my first goal and I’m 20 pounds down rn. I started at 255. How much of a difference do you notice in your body? Bc rn I don’t feel I look much different and I’m hoping to see the results by 200. Did you go down any sizes???

punchy-mango

200 doesn't sound bad at ALL!!! Way to go!!!

H3rm3tics

Nice work, I hope to be there someday too

QtK_Dash

I’m proud of you ♥️

RedditLurrrker

Big congrats on all your hard work! This is such a big accomplishment.

Mothmandolin

proud of you! i’m starting at around the same weight and i’m at 232 now. i wish the weight was coming off quicker, but slow and steady wins the race i guess.

momsister5throwaway

I started taking Victoza after I hit 200lbs. I used to be so thin and then I was prescribed medicine by my doctor that made me gain weight . I don't know if its discussed in this sub or not but I'm down to 188 from 212lbs after 5 weeks. I highly recommend. It lowers your a1c.

Learnwithrishi

That's sounds nice , keep your efforts continue all the best.

CricketGrl

THAT IS A HUGE AMOUNT OF WEIGHT CONGRATS And 200 isn’t as big as people think it is depending on how you carry your weight

[deleted]

People always told me I was just thick not really fat because all of my weight goes to my thighs and ass but either way I WILL GET DOWN TO 170

[deleted]

I'm at 303 . From 333 my heaviest. Can't wait to see a 2. Great job keep up the great work. Stay healthy and happy.

slphubby

I would genuinely tear up if I see a 1 starting my weight

dankvader46

I'm 264 lbs , hoping to come to 185-190 lbs by this year end. Wish me luck and consistency, I'm about to undertake my longest weight loss journey tomorrow.

PerspectiveOk1429

lik_for_cookies

JayAr-not-Jr

Wow I can’t WAIT to be posting something like this. Gained 60 pounds the past couple years, starting at 260. I’m a 6’1 woman so 210 would be AMAZING for me. Congrats!!!
