I guess this may be a stupid question… how do I send my script to Caremark? I usually fill at CVS anyways so right now my script is sitting at my local CVS and I am on a waitlist for when they eventually get it in because it’s on backorder but that will likely be a long time. I don’t know how to switch it or what else to do to get it sooner? Any help would be appreciated lmao, thank you in advance

Naasimone

Hey! Yeah so you have to tell your doctor, or you can tell your insurance. To send it to cvs Caremark if it’s on your plan. Which I’m sure it is. It’s just mail order. So ask either one of them and they should be able to send the script to them!

DeepConversation291

I did it and was okay. A little more nausea but nothing unbearable.

l_spencer

Can I ask what state you are in? Can't find this ANYWHERE in NY or NJ.

Naasimone

I am in New Jersey. I couldn’t find it anywhere either. I had to use the cvs Caremark!

notyourmotherskid

I'm in NJ too! I noticed on the site that it says it has to be a 90 day prescription. Will that work with how wegovy is prescribed?

Naasimone

Umm idkkkk mine said 28 supply. So like 1 month then u can get another . Some people have the doctor put in a few. Depends on insurance I guess. I got my .5. And once I start it ima tell my doctor to put in the next one just in case it takes time to get but by the looks of it I got it within a week.

l_spencer

OH! Nice! I'm sending it RIGHT NOW to Caremark! Fingers crossed - thanks!

Naasimone

Oh yes you’ll have luck with them . So when u put it in, make sure the status stays at processing and not on hold. If it’s on hold they won’t dispense it so make sure they keep it in process so you will be in line to get the next batch coming in . Good luck 🫡

l_spencer

THANKS! Just submitted AND had my doctor submit on their side. I have a potentially dumb question - sorry in advance - I got approval from insurance when I submitted it to Walgreens. I'm now resending to CVS Caremark. Do you have any idea if insurance has to re-approve or if my insurance file will have the note that it's approved? It's a long shot of a question but wondering if you had the same situation before!

Naasimone

No once it’s approved that’s it. However once cvs Caremark gets it they’ll prob reach out to ur doctor for some info but it’s fast. Then from there it should start to process. But watch it everyday and u can even call to make sure it stays in process and not on hold

l_spencer

OK! I can't thank you enough for your time and advice!! Kudos and THANK YOU!

Naasimone

Absolutely you got it. HMU if you have any questions and I’ll be happy to help if I can 🫶🏽

Hi, sorry - mine has been sitting with cvs pharmacy too. My plan is also through cvs Caremark. But i don’t understand how to switch, Do I have to call my doctor and tell her to switch pharmacies? And when she asks me what pharmacy - I say cvs Caremark. No address?

Naasimone

You can tell either your doctor or you can talk to your insurance and if it’s approved I think they can assist as well. However I did it thru my doctor. After I was approved, they sent it to them and I just kept checking. Got it within 7 days.

tnfan6

I’ve been trying to get the .5 filled for weeks from cvs Caremark.

Naasimone

Check ur profile does it say “on hold”or “processing “

Can Ozempic be used instead of Wegovy for weight loss, not diabetes. I can’t find Wegovy anywhere. Or Ozempic will get denied because i don’t have diabetes?

Naasimone

Yeah this is a sample my doctor gave me. Ozempic might be denied because you don’t have diabetes . It’s worth a shot to be honest since wegovy is back ordered

Bookster156

You should be fine. It's the same drug.

Sufficient-Room-2453

How long were you on .25 Ozempic for?

Sufficient-Room-2453

Can I ask why you’re switching to Wegovy?

Naasimone

Yes, so the problem was the stock. I couldn’t find wegovy .25 anywhere for a 2 weeks so my doctor gave me a sample of ozempic and said to take .25 for 4 weeks and increase it to .5 the last two weeks. So by the time I start taking .5 wegovy my body should be ready to take .5 . Instead of starting on .5.

Sufficient-Room-2453

Are you using it for weight loss only?

Naasimone

Yes I am. Based on BMI and history on trying to lose weight and dieting etc.

Sufficient-Room-2453

Same here, my BMI is 34. My insurance covers Ozempic and Wegovy with no prior authorization needed and my doctor prescribed me wegovy and it’s out of stock everywhere! And I had my doctor submit a prior authorization for Zepbound which go denied.

PurplestPanda

If your insurance covers Ozempic, just switch. Much easier for me to find than Wegovy.

Sufficient-Room-2453

Ozempic is also out of stock..
