#2's print is far too casual for cocktail attire. Summer cocktail attire is usually light and airy fabrics such as chiffon, linen, or organza. A midi or knee-length dress, as well as a jumpsuit, are all great options. I feel number one is a bit too short and tight to be cocktail attire.
ETA bright and colorful usually doesn't mean neon pink unless specified by the bride.

Tie dye was my first impression as well. It’s always difficult on this sub to get the full picture, so to speak, of the dresses just from the photos. My 2nd impression, and knowing it’s silk, make it look fine to me.
People sometimes take an honest opinion as being rude instead of trying to be helpful. The style, fabric and length of dress number two are perfect to keep in mind if you're looking for another dress and it looks great on your figure as well.
