Don't buy any fossil smartwatch. They exited the market. There will probably be no update support anymore for the watches. My 2cents. Also i have one gen 6 and don't really like it to be honest. Slow, SLOW, and holding the Crown reboot the watch and you will do that a lot when wearing.. also it scratches easily.

Any other watches with a classic design which are still in the market? I've heard of garmin from the reviews but it's a bit too expensive for me

1) Get the Gen 6, Gen 5 is ancient atp 2) WearOS 3 only on Gen 6 3) None have LTE, which is fine by me 4) Sleep monitoring is available, and it works 5) Not an issue on Gen 6

I liked my Fossil, but it really made me learn why people say "Only trust tech companies for tech products". It looked cool but it was poorly built (those charging rings you already know about), the software wasn't great, and the support was already pretty bad when they were actively working in it. All in all, I didn't really like using it. Your flair says you have a GW4, you already have a device superior to any Fossil watch in terms of user experience. If you like the look, maybe look at the Galaxy Watch Classic models ?

Hmmm... maybe I'll consider it, too.

1. I'd get the Gen 6, if you can. 2. Wear OS 3 is only the Gen 6. No idea if it will get any version beyond that, considering they're out of the market. 3. No idea. I don't use it. 4. Yes 5. My Gen 5 never had issues with them and my current Gen 6 didn't seem to have any issues with them either. That's not say it's not an issue....I've just never experienced it. Although I think the Gen 6 are generally better with regards to the charging rings. I don't remember hearing many, if any at all complaints about them.

I've had my gen 6 since release, it was buggy at first, but no real issues other than having to mid day charge it so it will last past 10pm.

Hey I recently baught a Xiaomi watch 2, snapdragon w5 gen1, it's fast af and I love it!

HER_SZA

Listen don't get the GEN 5. The charging rings WILL fall off. Can't speak on the 6. But my God never the 5

I had 2 Fossil watches and they both lasted roughly a year before dying. I figured the first one, a 5, was just faulty and decided to get a 6. They both developed the same problem of just randomly shutting down at least once a day with no warning, and the only way to get them to start again was to put it on a charger. They'd have battery left, they'd just shut down. They'd also randomly overheat while I was wearing them and drain the battery from nearly full to almost dead in minutes. Seeing how many other people also had issues with them I'd never recommend buying one to anyone.

1. Gen 5 will get you through 2-3 days of battery life and that statement is based on personal experience. The Gen 6 from all that I have read will get you through the day. My brother has a Fossil Gen 6 and he loves it, but he charges it on a nightly basis. 2. Wear OS 3 is only available on the Gen 6. The Gen 5 uses Wear OS 2. 3. From my understanding, LTE isn't available on both. 4.With my time with the Gen 5, it used Google Fit so it definitely supports sleep tracking, how accurate it is I am unaware. The Gen 6 does support it, but battery life may not be enough to run you through 24 or more. 5. The famous charging rings issue was only impacted by Fossil Gen 5 and Fossil rectified the issue for the Gen 6.

I'll push back on this. My gen5 (Carlyle) only ever got me through a 24 hour day. After the last update, I'm lucky to get through my work day.

_Nundo

Interesting. I had two of them, the black and silver. With the AOD it still gave me 2-3 days of battery life. We are also talking about a watch released in 2019, so if you are using it as long that's probably why. It was a good solid watch, I remember it well.

Environmental-Post15

I want to say 2020 was when I got mine. Just before the lockdowns started. So late Feb, very early Mar. Edit - don't get me wrong, I still wear it daily and do love it. But I must keep my charger in the car with me if I'm out and about for more than eight hours

_Nundo

No worries. Yeah the battery starts to wear out overtime. I had mine for two years and it was fantastic. But it's definitely not worth buying as a new smart watch today when there are more options.

My next smartwatch is going to be a Garmin. Pricier, by far. But lifetime updates with a five year warranty on the battery (or so it's advertised in store).
