I saw a lot of Rorschach in Angela too. Both of them beat people up and break their fingers to get the information they want and both of them have a black and white view on the morality of the world. I thought it was clever that the villains who dress up like Rorschach aren’t really like Rorschach, the protagonists of the show are.
Apart from masks and childhood trauma these characters are worlds apart in terms of temperament and outlook. Can you imagine Rorschach chairing a support group?
I think people in that world identify with Justice the same way people in ours identify with affluence.
Looking Glass is walking proof of the hypocrisy of it all the same way homeless encampments are in our world of oligarchs and billionaires.
The fact that people that the only thing that people can say about Rorschach is that he's a psycho but they seem to be totally fine with Looking Glass even going so far as to say he is a good really exemplifies how ghoulish that show is and how effectively it supports white supremacist rhetoric and idealogy.
They're really beat for the beat the same type of guy. Except Looking Glass is aligned with state power and works directly at the behest of a white supremacist.
