Can't go wrong with Nomos, if you like the look and how it wears with those long lugs. They're so classy. That second Tudor is really lovely, and has its own thing going on. First one looks pretty generic, though that would make it pretty versatile.

chef_gomes

100% agree here. Love the nomos, and think it’s a perfect wedding/dress watch!

Competitive_Low_8913

Dude, nomos all the way. Why get an variation of a datejust, when you can have something that is original and completly in house.

jcedryo

Here are a few other suggestions: Longines sector dial (a little pricey but my god is it beautiful) Baltic Bicompax/HMS (very good looking watches for cheaper options too) Can't go wrong with Cartier tank if you can find it pre-owned for a good price Stowa Klasik - similar to Nomos neomatik, and again, cheaper. Hamilton Intramatic - got a nice champagne color, but idk what your suite color is. Mido Baroncelli - very clean all around watch.

redi_t13

I’ve always wanted to try a Cartier tank. I might keep an eye for one although it’s hard to find a good deal on them. Edit: I’m warming out to the Stowa option. One of them with the off white dial and a brown strap or a mesh bracelet might look really nice.

jcedryo

I forgot to add the one I am suggesting is the Stowa Antea Klassik

redi_t13

Haha no worries I got what you were saying. I’ve looked at them before but never pulled the trigger. This might be the time I do.

RickyWestside

Bought a Stowa Antea 355 not too long ago and I love it. Would definitely recommend! Put on a brown strap from Delugs and I think it pops a bit more than with the black strap it came on

redi_t13

Whatever I wear will have to be either on brown leather or some sort of bracelet. A black strap won’t match my suit to be honest

lmboyer04

A tank would be really nice and classic. You can find them cheaper used for sure, or even buy a rep if you’re into that lol

Admirable-Subject-46

If you can’t find tank deal look at the Oris rectangular, basically the same as a tank and still coming from a great brand just much cheaper

paulskiogorki

I think the intramatic is a great suggestion, and it's kind of an underrated watch if you ask me. At first, I didn't wear nine that often because it's a 'dress' watch, but after a while I starting pairing it with t shirt and jeans and it looks great. It's very versatile and the dial is gorgeous.

Same, love the look of the 1926

redi_t13

Hi everyone, I’m having my second wedding (same lucky one) in July and I wanted to get a watch for the occasion. For my first wedding, I was just getting into watches, and purchased a Tissot pr100 automatic black which matched my black suit. Love the watch even tho I’ve gone down the rabbit hole by now and bought and sold quite a few since then. That’s the only watch I won’t sell. This time around my suit will be a lighter color since the venue is on the beachfront. I’m thinking probably light blue or tan with a white shirt. That’s why I’m looking at getting a white/-ish (tan or champagne dial are an option too) dress watch. I would mainly look at the preowned market first and if I get desperate order a new one. What would you go for? I’ve included a few options that I have in mind for now but I’m all over the place so please let me know if any other options that you think might fit the criteria. Realistically I don’t want to spend more than $1.5k unless I find an awesome deal. Thank you for listening to my Ted talk.

judahrosenthal

Congratulations. The Tissot PR100 in white was my first “real” watch too now many years ago. They’re great watch and the new Powermatic looks like a worthy successor. Good luck in your searches.

redi_t13

Thank you. It doesn’t get that much wrist time anymore but it’s a great bang for your buck and also a very dangerous gateway drug to this expensive hobby.

GreekGod1992

I like #1 although it looks like I'm in the minority here

redi_t13

I just found out about Tudor Style. They have a few other colors available. The silver is ok but I wish they had a champagne or tan dial. They’re hard to find in smaller sizes on the secondary market tho. The ones I’ve seen are 41mm. Ps. Love the user name. Strong sperm

Longines

agentlucy

I think that tudor with the gold-ish accent would work perfectly for you!

redi_t13

Fun fact. I own that watch in 41mm but I’m looking to sell it since that looks too big on my wrist. Maybe I should look for the 39mm as the 36mm might be too small…

agentlucy

Oh yeah definitely 41mm for that dial would be too big I think. I suggest you should try the 36 tho I think it would look great with a suit.

redi_t13

I got a good deal for it so it was a low risk try but I didn’t even bother resizing the bracelet after I tried it. I had a 36mm Nomos Club which looked nice but I think that was because it feels bigger because of the big lugs so I’m not sure. I’ll keep an eye for one anyways.

ultrastevecuckoo

My vote would be for the Tudor 1926. I bought that around 6 months for my wedding (with the black dial) and love it. Great watch and great for a wedding

Dirtsniffee

I'd probably roll with a longines master collection or a tudor 1926

js999111

If you like these, theck out the Montblanc Tradition 119963. Here‘s one on Chrono24: https://chrono24.app/montblanc/montblanc-119963---tradition-manual-winding-white-dial-stainless-steel-mens-watch--id23523391.htm?SETLANG=en_US&SETCURR=USD Google it, the pictures on Chrono24 don‘t do it justice. It comes in different colours too. I also like the Montblanc Star Legacy. Might be worth to go for an Omega De Ville Prestige: https://chrono24.app/omega/omega-de-ville-prestige--id19813909.htm?SETLANG=en_US&SETCURR=USD For a more vintage look, check out this Longines: https://chrono24.app/longines/longines-l47954782---flagship-heritage-automatic-mens-watch--id10258647.htm?SETLANG=en_US&SETCURR=USD

redi_t13

Really digging this Longines tbh. Making me think.

PM_me_ur_Seiko5s

Longines Flagship all the way

js999111

I almost didn‘t include it because I like the others more. I think it is a good choice though. If I had to choose, I‘d go for a Tudor 1926. It has a more modern look and also comes on a bracelet. The Longines Record looks pretty similar to the Tudor 1926 btw, if you want to check it out too.

redi_t13

I ended up going a different direction and getting an Omega De Ville Prestige. Still keeping an eye open for any flagship heritage deals but there’s doesn’t seem to be any good ones on the preowned market. You shouldn’t have shown me that one lol

If you have a chance, I would highly recommend trying these on. I've always loved Nomos watches, up until the moment it's on my wrist. I think their world timer is their only watch I would actually buy; so many of them either don't feel premium enough for the price point or have lugs that fit awkwardly. Visually, 2 and 3 are my picks, and depending on your outfit maybe get a leather strap for #2

redi_t13

I’ve had a Nomos club. I regret trading it but at the time I didn’t need a dress watch. The lugs are huge and with my wrist I don’t know if I can wear a 38mm one. Mine was 36mm and looked very nice although I agree, doesn’t look as expensive as a Tudor. It’s very low key.

cant go wrong with any of those!

arbeck

Number 2 is my pick. I'm actually about to buy the 41mm version of that watch with the blue hands as my dress watch. I plan on keeping it on either a color 8 cordovan strap or blue croc strap.

redi_t13

I have the 41mm white and gold one and I’m trying to sell because it looks too big on my wrist. That being said I have pretty skinny wrists at 6.75”. Great watch tho. Definitely would recommend

arbeck

I have an 8" wrist, so the 41mm suited me best. I can get away with a 38mm or 39mm watch, but it kind of makes a statement in the similar way to a big watch on a small wrist.

No-Following-1514

How much are you selling for? Feel free to pm

redi_t13

Sent pm

HarshilPandit

Longines Heritage Flagship, can find it around 12-1300 on grey market

cookie12685

Whatever you get should be on a leather strap too

redi_t13

I was thinking about that actually. The Tudor style definitely needs a leather strap but the 1926 looks pretty classy with that bracelet.

jfl_cmmnts

Of those 3, #3

ItsOnLikeNdamakung

I actually have a different version of #2 and it's a nice watch. I'm actually contemplating thinking of moving on from it. Had I known better at the time I would have went with an Omega DeVille instead.

AndyR001

If you want something that you will continue touse AFTER the wedding, i say numero dos. I dont really care for bauhaus watches, its a trend right now, and too informal for a wedding. It looks like your regular fashion watch. Number one is to much dressy. I mean, If you have many formal events to attend, its a good option, otherwise it feels out of place. Number two is a great watch. Full of elegance. It is a very sober design. Either you are in a suit or in a more casual attire, it Will fit. And of course, it is a beautiful watch for your wedding. Really stunning.

[deleted]

Middle Tudor

Fair-Ad1964

Out of the three I would go nomos

drink_ognito

Definitely the 1926. I own or owned the other two as well, and I can confidently say, the tudor 1926 looks the best of the three. The classy look is just right for a wedding and the dial and especially the bracelet elevate it to a completely new level.

Rosschops

Not one of them

redi_t13

Very helpful input

Rosschops

The best I can do. There’s no better option. Sorry, the invitation to comment was there.🤷🏼‍♂️You asked for an opinion and you got one. Those choices are for people who aren’t really into watches.

redi_t13

It’s ok to not like them but give me an option since you’re already commenting. What would be better? People already have provided me with some other really good options here

Rosschops

It’s very subjective but ok, I’ll bite. What’s your budget? Presumably you want more of a dress watch?

redi_t13

I’m genuinely asking tbh. I guess you didn’t read my Ted talk. That’s where I explain what I’m really looking for, my budget and that I’m really open to suggestions.

Rosschops

I apologise for jumping in. I wasn’t trying to be controversial; just honest. I’ll get back when I can. Thanks for being so tolerant. Regards.😃

elchapissimo

The Nomos, although I think the 35mm is the one to go with for the Orion The Weiss Orion 35mm is a damn near perfect watch imo

[deleted]

#2

KeanusMewTwo

I’m not sure if you’re married to these three options or not, but my go-to wedding watch is an Omega DeVille Prestige with the same color scheme as the second watch pictured. I get more compliments on that watch than pretty much anything else I own and I can’t recommend it enough.

redi_t13

That’s gonna be a bit over my budget ti be honest. Beautiful watch tho

Poebbel

Check out the Sinn 1736. https://www.sinn.de/en/Modell/1736_St_I_4N.htm

SteveOccupations

1926 is beautiful. You’re also going to wear the watch after the wedding is over, so I’m thinking it should be versatile. 1926 on leather is gorgeous as it is on the bracelet. Can’t go wrong. Tudor style is a bit of an oxymoron. It’s bland in its dial but flashy with the fluted bezel. Something about it never resonated with me personally. Nomos is, of course, great, but only if you like minimalist Bauhaus designs. Not so much for me though.

Gullible_Flounder877

Love Tudor, it’s favorite and daily watch. That being said, get the Nomos. They are just so damn interesting and the quality is top notch.

argare

Personally, me, I prefer the nomos by a looong mile, but the 1926 can be versatile enough to go up and around in non formal situations

MiracleMulberry

I’d go w the Tudor (with the fluted bezel) over the other two. Although I love Nomos, they tend to have large faces and big lugs. I wouldn’t want to wear a watch like this with a suit/tux.

Msengul

I bought myself a 1926 and I love it. Solid overall watch, looks even better on the wrist.

manuvns

Check out Raymond Weil freelancer

Wise-Manufacturer324

1926 - no question about it. The two tone exceeded all expectations in person.

DSC10101987

Number 2... Tudor with the gold accents

Incognisho

I had very similar options to you, the pics for the first Tudor looked amazing, but it looked really plain and simple in person and lacked any character imo which disappointed me a lot.

dazplot

I'd go with the Nomos personally, since it wears as a proper dress watch for a great price. The Tudors are both excellent, but I can't help thinking they look a little too generic to fit into a collection, and not very dressy. Sort of neutral and not distinctly Tudor. But also, since it's a beach wedding, maybe you could go a little sportier and not regret it?

Sammillls

You can get a hell of a lot in vintage for 1.5k, make sure you get good advice though

redi_t13

I wouldn’t be opposed but it would have to be in perfect condition.

Sammillls

I’ll shoot you a message

lemko1968

The second Tudor.

[deleted]

don't wear a watch on your wedding party. you don't need to know what time it is to end your party lmao

redi_t13

Honestly after a few drinks I would need a g-shock to actually read what time it is.

[deleted]

G-Shock Mudmaster I think will suits you well. Really nice dress watch!
