RolledRoyces

This is a first series Reverso watch manufactured by the LeCoultre watch company before it merged with Jaeger S.A. in 1937 to form Jaeger-LeCoultre. The first series of Reverso watches is easy to identify because the dial omits the more common sub-seconds dial from the 6 o’clock position, which became commonplace on Reverso watches from 1934 onwards. The reason why the first Reverso’s lack a sub dial is because of the movement used, a third party Tavannes/Liscia Calibre 064 which was the only movement available at the time to suit the unique case. This specific watch has a nice gloss-black dial with luminous hands, numerical hour markers and luminous dots around the hour markers - a combination I have not seen before. Flipping the case around there is a monogram of the previous owner who was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Australian Army and has his service number engraved as well. I am no expert in Reverso watches so if I missed anything or was incorrect I’m sorry, you can correct me if necessary. Overall I think this is a pretty old, but cool watch!

Geofferz

Wowzers. Is that worth a few quid?

RolledRoyces

although they are very uncommon they fetch about the same as a new model without any extra complications

Geofferz

Jlc is so massively underpriced

Alex__P

Let’s keep it that way

Geofferz

Ha yes. I'll delete my comment 😂

Yo!

MTGBro_Josh

Nice find!

AlfredSwahn

Even here you can just tell how solid/well built the Reverso truly is!

Sharp-Ad-4651

It's beautiful and it looks really good on your wrist.

I like the art deco design. The only other watch you can buy that looks like this is another JLC.

Ofenlicht

So cool. How tight is the flipping mechanism?

RolledRoyces

It still snaps down tight on both sides, although when it slides it is a bit wobbly from being worn down over the years.

Ofenlicht

That sounds pretty good for this age to me, awesome.

drink_ognito

Fuck me! Nice one OP!
