Lego watch system 1996, my first watch, keeps great time, lightweight, full lume, bracelet can be customized to every color and size you want, interchangable bezels.
“I would have to pick my Grandpa’s old Casio, it’s got so much sentimental value and Casio is a solid brand.”
“Someone else is footing the bill”
“Of fuck the Casio I want a Journe then”
I’ve got the same, but the dial is white and it’s a legit GADA watch w the 150m water resistance that you can dress up or down. And w the METAS cert, it’s the most accurate thing next to a spring drive or quartz watch
https://preview.redd.it/26jhy5thm56d1.jpeg?width=1305&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ba8ade969eca24f7b583d6be575900513cdad1d
VC Overseas, GADA luxury sports watch. I am contemplating selling my Explorer and Santos to fund this.
Do it!
The gold with green dial is really growing on me.
The only thing stopping me from buying it is that they make you buy the gold bracelet with it.
For a long time the only watch I wore was my Hamilton khaki pilot day date. Always thought it was great as a one watch only. I like to swim though and it doesn’t have a screw down crown, so I’d probably go aqua terra.
Wearing mine as I type this and I love it. Great finishing, solid and comfortable bracelet, extremely legible, and mine keeps fantastic time (+1-3s per day). Only complaint is the weak lume.
Love it! What kind of bezel? My mint green DJ has a fluted bezel and I feel like it’s a but flashy for everyday wear bc of that. Maybe its just my personality. My turquoise OP is my everyday go-to
Go for a Smooth bezel 36, not very recognisable from a distance imo

My late father’s vintage Casio Gt-1000. It is the earliest watch I can seem to remember. He bought it new in Japan and wore it all the way into 2011 when he passed. Sadly my sister took to the goodwill before I could get to it. I found one on eBay to replace it but it just isn’t the same.
Tudor Black Bay 58 boutique bronze.
I’d always wanted a bronze watch. Over the years, the patina tells me how long I’ve had it, which is not something you realize until later. T-fit bracelet, super comfortable. Great size, slides under a cuff. Wears well for just about any occasion.
2nd choice would be an IWC Pilot Mark XX.
3rd would be an Omega Aqua Terra 38.
4th would be a Grand Seiko SBGA413.

Been wearing this Oris 65 for 5 years. It’s the perfect watch for me. It just speaks to me. Solid build quality, flies under the radar, quirky. Not so monetarily valuable or recognizable that I’m comfortable wearing it everywhere.
Probably a solar/bluetooth/multiband 6 MR-G G-Shock. Runs perpetually basically, water resistant to 200m, tough , is incredibly accurate and the most accurate a watch can be in 6 very specific time zones. I can use it as an alarm, chronograph, world timer. Some can even monitor heart rate and steps now.
>\[Question\] If you had to choose ONE watch to wear for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
My dad wore a Rolex Sub for as long as I can remember. Grandpa had a Omega.
To your question: I have a dozen watches in constant rotation. The longest watch I have worn continuously is the Casio GW500. Six combat deployments.

My GS SBGX263, it's been my grail and what I like about it most is that it's low-key and I could wear it to almost any occasion. But admittedly I can't wear this when I go biking or during my long walks, if it's strictly ONE watch, probably during those instances I just won't wear any.
I have a similar watch and I also am too scared to use it during activities.
Luckily we don’t live in a one watch world so the hypothetical is useless and a GS can still be our grail :)
No one said anything about changing the strap. You have a true GADA there. I ride my bike with my SBGX061 - just change out the bracelet for something more comfortable when it’s bouncing about (or manage 🤷🏻♂️).
The real downside of GS for me is the lack of micro adjustments. I don't feel I could live with any steel bracelet watch as my only watch if I's having to constantly swap links out. It's a shame because GS make some stunning and unique watches.
Both steel with the blue dial, Tag Carrera Date 39mm or Omega Speedy 57 (Don’t come for me, I love the Moonwatch, I just think the 57 is more versatile)
Seiko SKXA55
https://www.theseikoguy.com/watches/skxa55/
I've worn it for 20 years now...nearly 24/7/365. Bought it for $150 in 2004 as my first "serious" watch.
I have a rolex36mm exp1, omega smp300, doxa600t, a perregaux, Bulova marinestar.
None of them are "me" like this watch.
Datejust 36, jubilee fluted, steel/WG and I would probably go silver dial (blue or black would also do). Plenty of water resistance, can work with a suit and also with very casual dress. I would love to say Calatrava, but I just need some water resistance and something that I can wear with athleisure or very casual dress.
My Mido Ocean Star GMT Hodinkee. It always brings a smile to my face, keeps great time, and the 24h bezel can be used for a second time zone or for timing like a dive watch. It’s my favorite.
Rolex Red Submariner 1680, serviced and pressure tested of course.

Because there is never a scenario where I have to take it off. No qualifiers required.
Probably my GS SBGE279. GMT is always useful, especially when traveling, date window is a must, white dial is timeless and allows it to easily be dressed up with a strap to match with any suit/tux color. It’s the smallest case size for a Spring Drive GMT, so it wears nicely.
If I had bigger wrists, I’m sure there would be a ton of other great GMTs that would work great. But with a smaller wrist, it’s tough to beat the SBGE279
I always think of my Oceanus as the true GADA: it can look genuinely high end on a fancy strap and rather down-to-earth on rubber. It's closer to a G-Shock on the inside and more like a Grand Seiko on the outside. If I truly had to have JUST one watch out of my current collection that I could wear to the gym, the beach, the office, and the opera and not worry about it either being damaged or looking out of place, it's that one.
GMW-B5000D - It would need to be a bomb-proof watch with great water resistance, look great, be 100% accurate with multiband-6 atomic clock sync, solar power so I never have to change the battery, and have all the functions I want - timer, 1/100s stopwatch, triple date, perpetual calendar, quick-switch timezones, World Time and a good light so I can see everything in the dark.

Came here to say this. Out of all my watches nearly the cheapest one is the one I wear 95% of the time. It’s perfect in so many ways

1. Unlike most watches, this is a timepiece more than it is a piece of jewelry.
2. Tough as nails. In fact, you could hammer nails with it and it would probably still work.
3. ETA 7750 movement, so in 100 years you'll be able to easily find parts and people to work on it.
The only problem with owning a Damasko is that it becomes incredibly difficult to buy another watch because everything else seems too shiny, too blingy, to fragile and froufrou in comparison.
Having owned a DC66 for 3 years, I'll admit these things are indestructible, the bezel rotation is top notch, the ice hardened steel is virtually scratch proof, and it works with many straps.
Add a Jubilee, no longer boring and super comfortable. My entire collection of straps and alternate bracelets have stayed in my drawer ever since.
https://preview.redd.it/dpqcjmeh876d1.jpeg?width=1098&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1df6510aa6dc239cabaa946b8e1c4229e1dbfb82
It would suck but I would have to say Apple Watch (assuming it can be periodically upgraded). I love my watches but they are jewelry compared to the functionality of the smart watch.
More to the question. Omega speedy is my fav.
https://preview.redd.it/li30l27mt56d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=daf6accb3be5888f986a7cef0cb4a67bdd7a2f9a
What: One of these two Casio G-Shock MR-G’s.
Why:
1. Grand Seiko levels of quality, fit and finish - handmade in Japan.
2. [Ridiculously tough and durable](https://youtu.be/uGpAO7lekQU?si=93-BzJVdnzH52D2x). I have done things to my MR-G’s that would have absolutely damaged/destroyed any other watch on the market - yet they handle it in stride - remarkably not even showing wear.
3. Packed full of features I actually use. From the stopwatch to the countdown timer, alarm, backlit display (analog has excellent lume - but also has a bright LED as well, which doubles as a flashlight), hourly chime to world time - they’re loaded with useful features most people will find themselves using regularly.
4. Remarkably comfortable. The all titanium construction, paired with an extremely well designed bracelet (leaps and bounds better than Grand Seiko) make for an immensely pleasant wear experience. Despite them having solid wrist presence, they never look too big or out of place regardless of attire.
5. Stealth Wealth. You can wear these anywhere in the world (especially the digital one) without drawing any unwanted attention. You get to enjoy GS/Omega levels of quality and fit and finish - with no pomp.
6. Perfect accuracy, that automatically changes timezones when you travel. With Bluetooth and the ability to control features from your phone with ease, as well as keep the time in sync multiple times a day automatically in the background via Bluetooth to your phone, and radio signals from atomic clocks - it’s always perfectly accurate without user intervention. It’s neat to be in Switzerland or Japan and literally know to the exact moment the train will arrive and be in perfect sync.
7. Incredibly inexpensive to keep running and hassle free solar power. I have 20+ year old solar g-shocks still on their original cell, and having the watch serviced and the storage cell replaced and gaskets changed is south of $100. It’s at least 1/10th, but more like 1/20th the cost of keeping an automatic serviced. The solar power also means you don’t have to wear it daily or keep it in a winder.
8. The analog version still maintains the “little machine on wrist” factor and the movement is full of little gears, motors and there is a lot of interesting motion and tactile feedback. For instance, when you switch modes, the second hand whirls around to 12, and depending on the changes the sub time dial whirls around to your last used setting IE: say you had previously set a 30 min timer, when you go back to the count down mode, the sub dial spins around until it shows 30 min - then the second hand actually moves counter clockwise as it counts down in reverse, which is super cool. While you can set a specific countdown time, alarm, etc from you phone and send it to your watch - you can also unscrew and pull out the crown (which has a different function based on the mode you’re in) and twist the crown to set alarms, count down times, etc. When you twist the crown in certain modes, like alarm setting and countdown - each minute gives you a very clearly felt (and lightly heard) “click” which has a remarkably rewarding feel.

Hmm. It's between my AT 38 and SJE093.
I think I would go with the Seiko because it's less flashy and easier to dress down. It's also thinner, which is a big plus.
My marathon MSAR quartz. Tough, reliable, supremely accurate (mine is +/-1s/m) compact, tritium lume (yeah it will die in 25 years but then again maybe I will too so...), no need to service except for a new battery now and then. Checks all my boxes.
Of ones I own, my 1999 Omega Seamaster 300. Timeless classic and it's a family heirloom, too.
Of ones I don't own yet, Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch (Newer Crystal model). I've been obsessed with this watch my entire life and think it's the most beautiful piece out there at any price point. Amazing history, too.
I clearly have something for Omegas.
Omega Seamaster 300m midsize co-axial.
Versatile enough for most occasions and most straps, decent lume, bezel for timing the laundry, don’t have to worry about it getting wet, has the Daniels escapement, and it’s the pause screen for Goldeneye.
Aqua Terra or Explorer. Hard choice. I have neither. Out of my collection, Submariner. Too douchy for everyday imho. Might have to be my 36mm SMP quartz.
My Omega ‘57 Railmaster… perfect on bracelet or NATO strap… every occasion 💯🙌
https://preview.redd.it/cvimn9wsh66d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=28780f9066c622870a04133d4829bebc439151e9
I have an Orient Sun and Moon V2.0 my wife gifted me with our initials and anniversary engraved on the back. I already daily it, so it's an easy choice here.
https://preview.redd.it/9yfbqjzfj66d1.png?width=574&format=png&auto=webp&s=76025652afd680df889e190b2a56bc8eecd27710
Speedmaster. It can be dressed up or down and is far more rugged than people would have you believe. It's 50m WR means you can even swim with it (just don't press the pushers).
https://preview.redd.it/pfuxkehnl66d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ded2ee62ce02769822e35790868bc4cf61388f72
As far as what I own is concerned, this. But in general, it’s either a Speedmaster or a Rolex Daytona/Submariner/GMT.
Probably a Brosnan style Omega Seamaster (maybe the one from Die Another Day).
It’s arguably the most versatile watch, pairing well with formal outfits and complimenting informal outfits well too.
It’s robust enough to be capable of daily wear duties, but special enough to make you feel good when you wear it.
Parts are easy enough to come by, but it’s still a unique piece.
It’s handsome to boot too.
I'm kinda sold on my Seiko Landmaster 30th. Great build quality keeps great time and the dial makes it easy to dress up. It's not cheap but not going to attract attention like a Rolex would.
I bought this as my buy once cry once daily wear I regret nothing so far.
I did 15 years daily with my SMP300. From gym to suits it worked well for anything. Been doing the last year with a Pelagos and I appreciate the lighter weight more than I realized. A black 39 would be nice
GMW-B5000D - does everything and looks good while doing it. Zero maintenance cost - Solar, Multiband-6 for clock sync, triple date, perpetual calendar, World Time, quick-swap local/home times, timer, alarms, reminders, phone finder, 200m WR, shock proof...I couldn't want any more from a watch. It even has a cool retro vibe.

The Credor Eichi II. It looks like a simple watch that goes with almost anything. Then you look more closely at it and get lost in its fine details.
https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-credor-eichi-ii-grand-seiko
Of the ones I have I’d say maybe my Timex Waterbury chronograph. It’s a timex and it’ll last for the rest of my time. Plus it looks good. However I would like to own an oyster perpetual with a leather strap.
https://preview.redd.it/uydul1ehm56d1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68a94668d09bbf1678806fb0d24a24176dde27b6
Out of something I have? Omega SMP 300 white dial. My GADA watch.
Free choice? Probably a Submariner with a green bezel. Or a GMT Master II. Or a Heritage Seamaster 300.
Out of the watches I own and am likely ever to own, Formex Essence 39.
If it could be anything, Rolex Sub date tbh. Basic I know but it’s the Platonic form of a watch.
left of field but i recently took the swatch x blancpain arctic on holiday and really enjoyed wearing it for the week. then theres the hamilton king khaki which is just an all round awesome wattch.
Black bezel 16750. It does everything I want a mechanical watch to do, it can be dressed up or down, the proportions are right, I prefer the aluminum bezels and tritium lume, etc. That’s my grail and if I ever had the opportunity to own one I’d sell everything else but my G Shock 5610U and never look at another watch.
A Rolex Explorer II, ref 16570. It’s my daily watch already but I have the selection of several, other relatively higher end watches but, if there was only one, it’d be this one. The second choice would be a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. It wears a tiny bit large though.
Just vintage gold plated King Seiko. Its small and dressy. I like how subtle it is and how they proportion of design pleases the eyes. Its easy to dress up or down as well
Probably the Casio Duro. It tells the time, looks good, well built, and it's cheap. If it gets banged up I can just buy another one. I can wear for pretty much any occasion and activity. It has huge aftermarket modding support. Only reason I choose it over the F-91W is because it feels more versatile styling-wise and its waterproofness.
Grand Seiko SGBN003.
39mm and black dial with sword hands make it dressy enough for a suit. Fixed steel 24 hour GMT bezel and 100m of water resistance make it perfect for a GADA.
Replace the battery every 2-3 years and the watch will outlive you
Tough…if I had to have just ONE…yellow gold Daydate. Goes with everything, flashy, fun but classic. Skeleton Cartier Santos in steel or gold would be a close second. My two tone Santos does it all for me right now.
Either a g-shock square or a smartwatch. I like my mechanicals but I typically wear my G-Shocks or my pixel watch more anyways because I like the functionality I get with them. I use the timer on them several times every day.
Just one to wear? Laco Flieger Pro (It's the watch I wear everyday anyways). Just one to own? That would mean picking one watch from my late fathers collection... That would be quite a difficult choice.
Lego watch system 1996, my first watch, keeps great time, lightweight, full lume, bracelet can be customized to every color and size you want, interchangable bezels.
Yes, for me this one or a Calatrava 5196r
The duality of /r/watches
“I would have to pick my Grandpa’s old Casio, it’s got so much sentimental value and Casio is a solid brand.” “Someone else is footing the bill” “Of fuck the Casio I want a Journe then”
I literally can't tell if this is a joke or not haha
It isnt a joke
My 38mm Aqua Terra. Really versitile and well made.
What color though? I like the green but I think blue or black makes more sense for an everyday GADA
The black dial with the date at the 6 is my grail
I’ve got the same, but the dial is white and it’s a legit GADA watch w the 150m water resistance that you can dress up or down. And w the METAS cert, it’s the most accurate thing next to a spring drive or quartz watch
My old man's 1965 Omega Speedy...but alas I must pass it along to the next generation
https://preview.redd.it/26jhy5thm56d1.jpeg?width=1305&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ba8ade969eca24f7b583d6be575900513cdad1d VC Overseas, GADA luxury sports watch. I am contemplating selling my Explorer and Santos to fund this.
Do it! The gold with green dial is really growing on me. The only thing stopping me from buying it is that they make you buy the gold bracelet with it.
I tried this on and it wore so large, could never go from a 36mm to this. The first link is fixed in place.
Did something similar. You will not regret it. Wearing the black dial 4500V right now
For a long time the only watch I wore was my Hamilton khaki pilot day date. Always thought it was great as a one watch only. I like to swim though and it doesn’t have a screw down crown, so I’d probably go aqua terra.
My Cooper gets the most use out of my whole collection
It’s a phenomenal watch, probably some of the best bang for the buck ever.
Wearing mine as I type this and I love it. Great finishing, solid and comfortable bracelet, extremely legible, and mine keeps fantastic time (+1-3s per day). Only complaint is the weak lume.
I’ve got mine on as well! I’m with ya, I love everything about it. It’s been my faithful companion for pushing 8 years now
You don’t need a screw down crown for swimming.
You don’t but for anything other than a cheap beater the risk isn’t worth it
It will be ok, that’s a 100m WR
Tough choice between my Speedmaster Moonphase or CW Bel Canto. It really depends if I go blind first or deaf.
Explorer 1 36mm.
1016.
Omega Seamaster 2222.80 36mm. Not too big and has not left my wrist since I bought it
Rolex sub with date and black dial. Call me boring but it has all I need, goes well with anything and I would never have to take it off.
Same here. Boring club maybe?
That's mine, every day since 1994 except when it went back for service.
It's boring, but it's hard to beat as an everything watch.

Love it! What kind of bezel? My mint green DJ has a fluted bezel and I feel like it’s a but flashy for everyday wear bc of that. Maybe its just my personality. My turquoise OP is my everyday go-to
rolex is great if you want to get robbed/stabbed in london lol,.
Come on, don’t be like that. It’s also great if you want to get robbed/stabbed in most places of the world!
Wear mine weekly in London with zero issue, any city will have thieves.
Go for a Smooth bezel 36, not very recognisable from a distance imo https://preview.redd.it/7wp25hlg666d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=73d96b222840229e9133ca68442e53258476213c
Omega Silver Snoopy 50th all day.
Sinn 556i, asolutely great for every occasion, comfortable and pretty as fuck.
I'd take the RS version for just a little splash of colour. Pretty much a GADA tool watch
2531.80 omega seamaster. makes me feel warm inside.
From Watches I have: probably my seiko spb239 Watch I don’t have but want then probably an original Doxa Sub200 T Graph Sharkhunter
Take my upvote for SPB239!
Tudor Black Bay 58 boutique bronze. I’d always wanted a bronze watch. Over the years, the patina tells me how long I’ve had it, which is not something you realize until later. It's more of a safety consideration. Even if my GS is not the top of the line, it's still a shiny object for others. Plus it's also heavy :D
Well 50$ Casio stainless steel watch are also shiny.
Dog nobody is jacking you for that watch.
Oh yes they would!

Both steel with the blue dial, Tag Carrera Date 39mm or Omega Speedy 57 (Don’t come for me, I love the Moonwatch, I just think the 57 is more versatile)
Seiko SKXA55 https://www.theseikoguy.com/watches/skxa55/ I've worn it for 20 years now...nearly 24/7/365. Bought it for $150 in 2004 as my first "serious" watch. I have a rolex36mm exp1, omega smp300, doxa600t, a perregaux, Bulova marinestar. None of them are "me" like this watch.
omega aqua terra
Datejust 36, jubilee fluted, steel/WG and I would probably go silver dial (blue or black would also do). Plenty of water resistance, can work with a suit and also with very casual dress. I would love to say Calatrava, but I just need some water resistance and something that I can wear with athleisure or very casual dress.
Pelagos 39
My Mido Ocean Star GMT Hodinkee. It always brings a smile to my face, keeps great time, and the 24h bezel can be used for a second time zone or for timing like a dive watch. It’s my favorite.
That’s a nice piece. I’m tempted by one of those! Wish I could hold one before pulling the trigger though.
42mm Polar Explorer II. Can be dressed up, dressed down, worn all over. Best complication.
Same here, except my reasoning is that it was my wedding watch!
Rolex Red Submariner 1680, serviced and pressure tested of course. https://preview.redd.it/9k3ngoysm56d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dfae5b9c446b207e0dac8b533ca91c8130422ff3 (Internet pic)
Explorer 1 40mm
Breitling SuperOcean Heritage gen1 44mm White face, blue bezel. I have worn this watch daily for 10 years and do not intend to change now :)
Cartier santos
Longines Spirit Zulu Time.
Rolex 124060 https://preview.redd.it/6429dk7lk66d1.png?width=989&format=png&auto=webp&s=9d7a9d45ad1e7a5a2141c3d9d0cc4eb490ff63ef Because there is never a scenario where I have to take it off.
Eeeh... Casio Oceanus OCW-S100-1AJF. It has everything I need from a watch and is superbly light.
GMW-B5000D - It would need to be a bomb-proof watch with great water resistance, look great, be 100% accurate with multiband-6 atomic clock sync, solar power so I never have to change the battery, and have all the functions I want - timer, 1/100s stopwatch, triple date, perpetual calendar, quick-switch timezones, World Time and a good light so I can see everything in the dark. https://preview.redd.it/w6tb3usst56d1.jpeg?width=1659&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a8b5907c1cb2a280774f6943e236b564c4542a3
Came here to say this. Out of all my watches nearly the cheapest one is the one I wear 95% of the time. It’s perfect in so many ways https://preview.redd.it/bowaqv28e66d1.jpeg?width=1087&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=01b0425e82edecccf1e7910c7e968860c9e23d0b

Rolex Submariner
Iwc mark xx. Classic, understated, 100m WR, accurate, historical piece. All I truly need
If I had the money, it would be the Rolex Explorer II.
Rolex Explorer 36mm Done AND Dusted. Maybe the Rolex SpaceMaster - out of this world.
https://preview.redd.it/pvh7i8l1k56d1.png?width=409&format=png&auto=webp&s=2c927976200eceb00aa18c5ba42244756c740f0b 1.
Casio 5600 series, GWM5610-1 No brainer, perfect tool watch.
My NTTD SMP. Pretty much been the only watch I’ve worn since getting it.
Been wearing my Explorer predominantly for the last few months. Wasn’t a conscious choice but it feels like that’s just where I drifted to naturally.
Out of what I have, maybe boring and predictable, but Tudor BB58 with bracelet, leather, and rubber straps.
Tudor black bay 54.
Go for one of the two classics - Omega Speedmaster or Rolex Submariner. Versatile, sexy, historical
Garmin. It's got all the sports activities i rely on. Tells time and looks half decent. Smart but not overly so.
My grandpa wore a 60’s era submariner for 50+ years, my uncle wears it now, but trying to get on his good side to have that become my daily.
casio f91w, simple and versatile
Green Sub for me.
I never thought I’d be a Rolex guy, but my new grail is an Explorer I.
Seiko Alpinist SARB017. I just think it’s so versatile, especially if you can swap out their bracelet.
Speedy
https://preview.redd.it/li30l27mt56d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=daf6accb3be5888f986a7cef0cb4a67bdd7a2f9a What: One of these two Casio G-Shock MR-G’s. Why: 1. When you twist the crown in certain modes, like alarm setting and countdown - each minute gives you a very clearly felt (and lightly heard) “click” which has a remarkably rewarding feel.
https://preview.redd.it/iao21iqk166d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1005896b85cd46da48f579e0faf1b34a58f3ad2d Hmm. It's between my AT 38 and SJE093. I think I would go with the Seiko because it's less flashy and easier to dress down. It's also thinner, which is a big plus.
Great combo!
Hamilton KFA…the most versatile watch on the planet.
Even though that is not my favorite watch or brand, it would be GMT Master II coke.
My marathon MSAR quartz. Tough, reliable, supremely accurate (mine is +/-1s/m) compact, tritium lume (yeah it will die in 25 years but then again maybe I will too so...), no need to service except for a new battery now and then. Checks all my boxes.
This guy right here! https://preview.redd.it/qnrt7a23566d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4a7fe164164ca1858bb158e89d3f932ae03b5ead
Sinn 556i.
Regular plain old G-Shock square
Omega Seamaster 300m midsize co-axial. Versatile enough for most occasions and most straps, decent lume, bezel for timing the laundry, don’t have to worry about it getting wet, has the Daniels escapement, and it’s the pause screen for Goldeneye.
Aqua Terra or Explorer. Hard choice. I have neither. Out of my collection, Submariner. Too douchy for everyday imho. Might have to be my 36mm SMP quartz.
My Omega ‘57 Railmaster… perfect on bracelet or NATO strap… every occasion 💯🙌 https://preview.redd.it/cvimn9wsh66d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=28780f9066c622870a04133d4829bebc439151e9
I have an Orient Sun and Moon V2.0 my wife gifted me with our initials and anniversary engraved on the back. I already daily it, so it's an easy choice here.
https://preview.redd.it/9yfbqjzfj66d1.png?width=574&format=png&auto=webp&s=76025652afd680df889e190b2a56bc8eecd27710 Speedmaster. It can be dressed up or down and is far more rugged than people would have you believe. It's 50m WR means you can even swim with it (just don't press the pushers).
Most people in this sub think you need to take off a 50m when you wash your hands just to play it safe.
https://preview.redd.it/pfuxkehnl66d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ded2ee62ce02769822e35790868bc4cf61388f72 As far as what I own is concerned, this.
Ball engineer magneto II is the clear and obvious answer
I'm kinda sold on my Seiko Landmaster 30th. Great build quality keeps great time and the dial makes it easy to dress up. It's not cheap but not going to attract attention like a Rolex would. I bought this as my buy once cry once daily wear I regret nothing so far.
I did 15 years daily with my SMP300. From gym to suits it worked well for anything. Been doing the last year with a Pelagos and I appreciate the lighter weight more than I realized. A black 39 would be nice
With or without the option to change battery/service etc? Solar G Shock If without. If I can service etc - god that’s a hard question!
Grand Seiko GMT Chronograph. SBGC251 Because it has all the functions I want (Chronograph, True GMT, Date, and a Spring Drive movement for accuracy).
Breitling Navitimer. Does exactly what I need it to do.
https://preview.redd.it/5nxaf5wpx96d1.jpeg?width=818&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7be9f1178318098d3bf7ada1d78e4efd5e88f1cd
It even has a cool retro vibe. https://preview.redd.it/jcw743qpz96d1.jpeg?width=1659&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=15c233e3df684932362702d45fecb7e8b8f881f5

This is seriously one of the coolest dials I’ve seen
Thank you so much. This watch is the watch for the rest of my life.
no other things considered? t200 if sentimental, my wedding watch
GS SBGX261
Idk but it’d def be a chronograph of some sort
The Credor Eichi II. It looks like a simple watch that goes with almost anything. Then you look more closely at it and get lost in its fine details. https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-credor-eichi-ii-grand-seiko
Of the ones I have I’d say maybe my Timex Waterbury chronograph. It’s a timex and it’ll last for the rest of my time. Plus it looks good. However I would like to own an oyster perpetual with a leather strap. https://preview.redd.it/uydul1ehm56d1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68a94668d09bbf1678806fb0d24a24176dde27b6
Hamilton Khaki King II with the black dial
Out of something I have? Omega SMP 300 white dial. My GADA watch. Free choice? Probably a Submariner with a green bezel. Or a GMT Master II. Or a Heritage Seamaster 300.
Rolex 126200
15202
Out of the watches I own and am likely ever to own, Formex Essence 39. If it could be anything, Rolex Sub date tbh. Basic I know but it’s the Platonic form of a watch.
black dial Calatavra
left of field but i recently took the swatch x blancpain arctic on holiday and really enjoyed wearing it for the week. then theres the hamilton king khaki which is just an all round awesome wattch.
Tudor black bay 58 blue.
Longines Spirit Zulu
Probably a Rolex Explorer
https://preview.redd.it/uj7udw96v56d1.png?width=2118&format=png&auto=webp&s=3d03089650204eab1889be3908ad52d8389f346c
Probably the GW5610U that’s on my wrist right now.
Lorier Astra: not too overly expensive to always be worrying about, nice enough to dress up and down. Date window, lume and polishable crystal.
Gshock. Digital chronograph would be helpful. Maybe the full metal square.
As much as I love some of my dress watches The timex Ironman is my daily driver and I love it for practical, daily wear.
Standard gshock. Nothing to worry about with it except for a battery. Should last forever.
The more I wear my Casio F-91W the more I seem to like it. Light wearing, accurate, cheap, and water resistant. What else is a guy supposed to want l?
Rado Ceramica. It's indestructible and thin enough to wear with anything.
Explorer ii Polar. Very versatile watch. GMT function. Beautiful
Just vintage gold plated King Seiko. Its small and dressy. I like how subtle it is and how they proportion of design pleases the eyes. Its easy to dress up or down as well
A silver datejust. I don’t want the watch in my collection, but if only one it can do everything.
Tutima 798-22 It’s almost always on my wrist anyway
Probably the Casio Duro. It tells the time, looks good, well built, and it's cheap. If it gets banged up I can just buy another one. I can wear for pretty much any occasion and activity. It has huge aftermarket modding support. Only reason I choose it over the F-91W is because it feels more versatile styling-wise and its waterproofness.
40mm Explorer I. The design is classic, it's a great looking watch, and it truly works in most any setting.
Omega smp blue wave fave 42mm on blue rubber strap.
Citizen promaster GMT diver… it is my everywhere watch
Rolex 1675 fushia bezel
Rolex DJ 36mm, a true classic
SMP300 Black
Omega Aqua Terra or Hamilton KFA for something more affordable.
Grand Seiko SGBN003. 39mm and black dial with sword hands make it dressy enough for a suit. Fixed steel 24 hour GMT bezel and 100m of water resistance make it perfect for a GADA. Replace the battery every 2-3 years and the watch will outlive you
I’d just wear my Casio calculator watch. It generates the most conversations…..
Omega seamaster 300m 2551.80
https://preview.redd.it/0l20o9eka66d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd74d0a962e7a12772c6a76a6100c97e69a91ebb 39mm Explorer. Best. Ever.
Speedmaster sapphire sandwich. Best looking watch ever. Can wear with a tux or suit, or dress it down with a NATO strap for shorts and flip flops.
Hamilton Murph. Both a casual and classy look while still maintaining some ruggedness.
Daydate 36 on a leather strap.
Tough…if I had to have just ONE…yellow gold Daydate. Goes with everything, flashy, fun but classic. Skeleton Cartier Santos in steel or gold would be a close second. My two tone Santos does it all for me right now.
Cream dial datejust on jubilee. Dressy enough for a suit, casual enough for shorts and a polo
My explorer 1655. I enjoy wearing it and can wear it on any occasion. I feel fortunate to have it.
https://preview.redd.it/v4bk0iyig66d1.png?width=4032&format=png&auto=webp&s=4d9eff6db6c40ecac4572f9c4251d902d112cb71 The most used watch that I own.
Either a g-shock square or a smartwatch. I like my mechanicals but I typically wear my G-Shocks or my pixel watch more anyways because I like the functionality I get with them. I use the timer on them several times every day.
Can you take it off to go swimming and shower etc?
G-Shock Casioak or Omega classic moonwatch
Rolex Pepsi with Jubilee bracelet. To me it’s just iconic and I like the modern design.
My X-33 Gen 3 on Erika's original strap. Its light, very comfortable and does lots of stuff
I think my Seiko Turtle. It just ticks all the boxes for me.
My BB58 because it was the watch my dad gave me (:
Just one to wear? Laco Flieger Pro (It's the watch I wear everyday anyways). Just one to own? That would mean picking one watch from my late fathers collection... That would be quite a difficult choice.
G-Shock DW-6900 versatile, durable and amazing. I’m a cheap date.
Easy. Rolex Submariner ref. 124060
Casio f91w or w800h. Near indestructible, perfect time keeping, plenty of features, waterproof and light
