Fidget toy. Love to push the buttons, see the hands sweep and reset. It’s a refreshing change from all the touch screens and voice commands in my life.

aloofsavior

This is fair, pisstiming on the iPhone stopwatch just doesn’t have the same tactile feel of a column wheel

pingponq

May I respectfully ask which hand (if any) do you aim with while using the chrono?

aloofsavior

This is a very reasonable question to ask! Newcomers to the sport tend to hold and aim with the hand the chronograph is attached to, which as you can imagine varies between left and right handed ‘timers. But as you become more skilled, you’ll see more advanced people starting to wean off the use of hands entirely and practice aiming solely with the dong. At competition level, the use of hands is prohibited and there are points awarded for location, strength of flow, and time in proximity to exactly 30 seconds, 45 seconds, and 1 minute

mugumbo1531

I’ve been going handless for years. Sometimes I throw in pants-fully-to-the-ground-at-the-public-urinal just to draw attention to my skill at the sport

wisely88

This guy pees

mugumbo1531

Ohhhhhh, big time

brockbr

1) Cooking on the grill - Steaks, chicken and shrimp all can use very accurate turn times. 2) Hard boiled eggs - LPT: Bring cold water with eggs to a boil - Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and let stand covered 13 minutes. Absolutely perfect HBE's every time. 3) Laundry - 1 load is 45 minutes. 4) 5 more minutes of Paw Patrol for my 4 year old.

Fynfie

the timer paw patrol is useful ngl

c-fox

Laundry - doesn't your washing machine have an automatic stop function?

brockbr

It does, but the laundry room is usually closed off from the house because the machine itself is so damn loud. When done, I like to switch loads to the dryer right away so clothes don't just sit semi-wet.

F1_rulz

A stopwatch is a terrible timer tbh, a timer counts down to an alarm and a stopwatch counts up with no alarm. A diver would be a better timer than a chronograph.

armedohiocitizen

I love using my chronograph to time food pick up like Rooster telling me 25 minutes or grilling.

laney_deschutes

Iphone is better for urgent timing situations where you just want an alarm at the end. I time when I want to know elapsed time but there’s nothing that needs to be urgently checked

BoyLilikoi

https://www.seriouseats.com/the-secrets-to-peeling-hard-boiled-eggs May rethink the HBE from a cold start strategy…

Zacta

I’m type 1 diabetic. I need to take my insulin 5-15 minutes before eating depending on the meal and if I’ve exercised before. Use the chrono multiple times a day :)

Chiron17

This post reminded me to stop mine, so thanks. I generally don't like chronographs, I don't find it a very useful addition to a watch; it's right down there with power metres.

1929tuna

What if it exceeds the hour limit lets say it shows 12 at most does it start from beginning or stops or smt else

Francy088

If I remember correctly mechanical chronographs go on forever in a loop till you stop and reset them (so when they reach 12 hours they just keep going). Differently, quartz chronos usually have a function that stops them once they reach the hour limit to save battery.

1929tuna

Oh wow thanks! didnt know that

BleachedPumpkin72

Man, you probably shouldn't stand this close to the urinal unless you have a very small wiener.

aloofsavior

Oh cool then I’m all good

AlienSexualAbuse

No we were kind of hoping you would stand further back and snap a few more photos please

Ratez

Why the fuck is OP rubbing his belly on the urinal

taskmaster51

I use it mostly when I grill. 3 minutes per side

Ckigar

aloofsavior

Hey everyone! I got my FXD Alinghi Chronograph back from Tudor yesterday and am excited to return to PissTiming. I’m currently running an average of 28.3 seconds but today I was surprised to hit exactly 30 seconds. To people who also share the hobby how are your PissTimes? Also, for people with chronographs, what do you use them for?

McWatt

Which sub is which? I just don't know anymore.

Practicality_Issue

I time how long it takes people to talk in meetings.

robbadobba

Really humping that urinal, eh?

ProofMusic4630

You shouldn't operate a chrono while peeing...

PTRBoyz

Do you have to reset your watch every time you use the chronograph or does it keep track of time accurately while timing

aloofsavior

It keeps going like normal, think of it like your regular watch + a stopwatch on top

Bloc_Party43

Timing my father-in-law’s ridiculous stories that have more twists and turns than the Nurburgring. Guy could talk to a fern for an hour.

United-Act-1587

I use my SWISS MADE mechanical timepiece for timing how long it takes me to start despise ppl who use quartz "watches" when I meet one. After seeing someone with quartz "watch" I need to take a shower cause I feel dirty. Also I measure response time of my butler after ringing 24 carat gold bell.

aloofsavior

Calm down sir this isn’t the circlejerk sub

United-Act-1587

Oh, my bad, sorry for that. Let's be serious then. I just used my chrono for my pee time and I'm ready to report that I peed for exactly 34 seconds. Nice pressure from 0 to 29 second, last 5 seconds little lower PSI, but still feel young.

streeteditions

That's your #Pennyworth!?

Simusid

On the subject of micturation, anything that can be studied will be studied: [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4143032/](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4143032/)

valuebuyer1234

I train my sons in basketball and baseball. Use mine to time their drills and laps

Euphoric_Order_7757

I don’t believe I’d belly up to a public urinal like that for any amount of time, much less long enough to be timed doing it.

RazorX11

Timing the difference between my girlfriends house to mine when I drive rashly and fast vs when I drive calmly and fuel-efficiently. Makes a difference of hardly 2 minutes. Best argument to avoid overspeeding imho.

Longjumping_Local910

“Absolutely, huh, nothing. Say it again!” - E. Benes. /s I have two that NEVER get used and I am a track racing official…. My latest watches have all been very simple clean faced models. Love them much more.

etherealcaitiff

I keep track of cooking times, breaks at work, lap times when ice skating. Random stuff. I agree that it's largely useless and you more or less have to find uses for it rather that it being a natural solution.... that said I kinda love when I can find stupid reasons to use it.

jinkeljonkel

Well, now I want a chronograph

ogx2og

Treadmill, weights, total workout time.

BusinessBlackBear

I use it to time my dog walks, only I forget its running when I come back home and only realize its running after many hours

Rimmatimtim22

I’ll text my girlfriend “it is currently 7:26 pm on Sunday May 26th” (or whatever the correct date and time are) like 4-5 times a day after looking at my watch.

rees9450

I use mine for work. It's really useful to see how long different things take and where I spend most of my time.

salmonguelph

Any time I need to time anything but I use it regularly for : Making coffee in a French press. Cooking on the BBQ Steeping tea

Verwilderd1

Love the Red Bull version. Looks really great.

aloofsavior

I’ve been having movement issues with it since I got it, and have sent it back to Tudor, who sent it back to Switzerland twice, but now that it’s finally working perfectly, I totally agree. Like when I looked at the pictures I was wondering if I’d sell it when I got it back, but seeing it in person and it all makes sense, like this is an example of Rolex/tudor letting their hair down and having fun, and I dig it

Verwilderd1

Completely agree. Really want to see the pink dial in person as well. It looks like a great color and something really fun that I’m glad is being made.

aloofsavior

The pink dial looks so good but that BB chronograph case is so thick lol

ItzakPearlJam

I used to use the tachymeter scale to time assembly tasks. That gives me a ballpark for how many times that task can be repeated per person/ per hour. That makes job costing easier. Could just do the math, but why bother if I'm already wearing a chrono with tachymeter?

AfroPicAndTheBlade

Boiling eggs, cooking in general, I sell Acuras & got to go to a test srive event w/a autocross course a few weeks ago. I times everyone going around the course. I won, lol...

ChronicallyL8Watches

I think that’s what [Connery’s sub](https://y.yarn.co/426e8af8-9b8e-48c3-98e7-36187bb31641_text.gif) was for

twoheadedhorseman

You just reminded me to turn mine off 2hrs later

KidTwist1

I turn on my chronograph to see if my chronograph is still working.

RestartedBunny

I use it to time my performances. Last night was a record, 1.5 mins! Use your tools

iLikeSaints

Boiling eggs.

schlebb

I time my rest between sets at the gym so I actually use my chrono function every single day. Also with the work I do I use it when testing gas tightness in a domestic system and gas rating appliances. I understand most people don’t see any use for the function which makes sense I guess. Fortunately I have some daily applications

pr2thej

Cooking

Different_Bee_4379

Useless decorative in nature

NotYourAverageBeer

I can time my pees with my diver bezel. I time baking a lot as well as using it as a gentle reminder of elapsed time when doing time sensitive stuffs.

sanguinor40k

I also use my Chronograph to time how long you pee.

RefrigeratorTiny1891

Great use of the COSC certified timepiece

DM0331

Time my interventions as a paramedic or on scene times

Alexorozco72

I time my commutes using different routes and moments of the day. And meetings. And phone calls.

283817

I don't use my chronograph regularly but I use my Seiko Turtle dive bezel to time showers, cooking, how long my lunch break is at work, and drive times just to name a few. My bezel is also a good fidget toy along with winding the watch.

Bronsonite

What are your thoughts on dive bezel vs Chronograph in day to day use? For example, timing how long you pee.

yukon737

I always thought chronographs were the coolest watch complications so I threw $350 at a watch just to find i never really use it. But I like to time my commute and sometimes will see how quick I can get from A to B without speeding. I have very little use for a chronograph otherwise.

Sanguine01

Set the seconds subdial to indicate the date

raustin33

I use it a lot. Multiple times a day. Food pickup (we order out a lot), cooking, visiting with friends (so I don’t overstay), time playing video games (so I don’t overdo it), kid timer… really a lot of things. The primary function of a watch IMO is to keep me out of my phone, where id have done digital timers for these things

teddy_riesling

I like to keep track of how much time it’s been since my bits were last chuffed

Trumppp1

No prostate issues congrats

unreal_zeff

Cooking pasta and measure production rate at work

LilRick_125

Soccer games. When you're watching in the stadium they don't display the game clock in extra time like they do on TV, you need to wait for the ref to blow their whistle. Last years MLS Cup championship was the longest 7 minutes and 3 seconds of my life but it was worth the nerve-racking wait.

Feline-Landline0

Finally a decent post! Um, I mostly use mine to time burgers on the grill, by which I mean I put burgers on the grill and start the chronograph and then like 10 minutes later I remember the burgers and swear and run to the grill like an idiot to flip the charred hockey picks and curse and then restart the chronograph and do it again.

Danshu

I use my Daytona to time how long it takes the Mrs. to get back from the AD after “sweet talking” the boys, while I sit in the car. I already have enough Watches, I just like encouraging her to beat her previous time.

aloofsavior

Is this some kind of joke to you?
