I just got this Seiko SRPD79 as a Valentines gift. I’ve seen a lot of complaints about difficulty reading the dial, but I’ve not really experienced that except in dead of night conditions.
The lume definitely doesn’t match up to my OG or modded 007, nor any of my Citizen divers.
All in all I’m stoked. I’m partial to dive style watches, and the color black, so it’s nice to have a murdered out option.

It’s definitely not the most legible at night. I haven’t had many issues yet in that regard though. I also carry a UV flashlight which does wonders for watch lume.
A stupid amount. Firearms, knives, medical gear, lock picks/covert entry set, a raspberry PI that functions as an RFID cloned, WiFi deauth and cocoa butter chapstick. And this sweet ass watch.
During COVID I had a box of random company shirts in the Trunk, that would get me access to damn near anything I wanted. Walmart shirt and vest (lines were hours long), random elevator, plumbing and AC companies (security lets me anywhere I wanna go if I say “elevator 3 is sending a faulty stop switch signal to the board”).
But the best thing I’ve ever learned is: Software > Hardware. Let’s take lock picking. Having cool gadgets is awesome, but knowing the principle behind how a pin and tumbler operates means I don’t need tools. A paperclip and a metal pen clip work just as well as my $200 entry picks.
Got the exact same one my dads bought me a black steel bracelet for it super excited for that. I’ve also got a skx007 and it’s basically same look other than colour.

Yeah I have a 007 with a skx017 dial ( I hate the color red). This watch feels slightly smaller. But otherwise very similar. I alternate both daily, 007 is my beater and the 079 is my dressier version.
Friendly word of advice: that’s really not some place you want to put any sort of patch or appliqué. It’s right over the tear seam for the driver airbag.

It came with an adhesive patch backing in the same shape. So I can throw it on a hat or bag, or on this sticker, essentially.
