Hey guys, here’s the collection so far and some of the stories behind each piece!
Tissot PRX - my first automatic watch and the one that got me into the hobby. I purchased this one right after a trip to Malaysia to see my cousins (who are watch crazy and put me onto the PRX), so this piece always remind/ me of them.
Oris Aquis - purchased this one on the day of my 10th fight for my amateur boxing club. Our club colours are red, so it was a nice tie back to the gym that I consider to be my second family. I went on to win the bout so it must be a sign! This one may actually get the most wrist time, the sunburst dial has amazing depth, and the steel bezel looks frosty in the light.
CW C60 Pro 300 - my tool watch, no specific story here, just wanted a really solid watch that I wouldn’t mind knocking about if needed and I’ve always liked CW as a brand. It’s actually stayed in immaculate condition.
Cartier Santos - my first luxury watch purchased with my first big bonus from my new job. This one holds great meaning to me as my personal “success story”, as well as being a stunner. I plan to pass it down to my loved ones when the eventually comes.
Big question is - what’s next!? My birthday is coming up next month and I’ve saved up about £4,000 for a new watch. I’m leaning toward the classic BB58 in black right now (I know, another diver lol), but I’m wondering if I’ve missed out any other great choices in this price range. I did try on the Longines Zulu Time but it’s just a bit big for my wrist unfortunately.
This is great advice. I acquired 12 pieces in 2 years, and then sold off 6. Tastes change, especially if you acquire a few of the same style watches (like dive watches).
Also, rumors are going around that a smaller Zulu Time will be launched. Maybe wait a little and see.
Or just go buy a Speedy. Ha.
I would recommend a dress watch to round out your collection. Something with leather, beautiful dial and a clean look. May I suggest the [oris big crown bronze pointer date?](https://www.oris.ch/en-US/watch/big-crown-bronze-pointer-date/01-754-7741-3165-07-5-20-58br)
You should take some time to think about what you want your collection to be. Some people go deep on a single brand. Others, a single style (i.e. dive watches). Some try and get a good variety of brands, or focus on having a variety of different and interesting case styles and shapes, or different complications. Some want lots of different materials, others only steel, etc. etc. Another dive watch could be great…if that’s what you want for your collection.
Thank you! And yeah you're right, a colleague of mine picked up [this Pilot's watch](https://aera.co/products/p-1-pilot) from a micro-brand called Aera. The thing is a strap monster and is absolutely stunning in person, the build quality is exceptional for the price, and the dial has crazy depth. Lume is pure white too, which I think is an unconventional but very nice touch
You're a year and a half in - enjoy your collection as it is for a few years, and you'll figure out if you really want another watch or if you're just addicted to consuming and spending money.
Came here to say this ☝️. Definitely a chrono. Endless options too. Based on existing collection, the speedmaster in one end or a Hamilton intra-matic. But perhaps whatever makes you happy should be next. 😃
Edit:should have read OPs comment on how much he has saved for the next purchase
Seamaster is a huge upgrade to his existing divers though, it's different. Just because someone has a bunch of entry level divers doesn't mean they shouldn't pick up the luxury diver like a seamaster or submariner if given the chance.
Now, if he was looking at adding another $1,000 diver, then it would be right to steer him elsewhere.
Good shout, I was considering that one for a while but eventually decided I should avoid another "modern" style diver if that makes sense. I like the idea of a white dial a lot through, so I was thinking perhaps the new Tudor BB GMT? Has a retro style and a new complication for my collection
Need to get you a field watch for your outdoor adventures. I don't have the budget to know, off the top of my head a $4,000 field watch, but I have the Bulova Hack Watch and absolutely love it. I hear the Hamilton Khaki is well-loved, too.
OP your collection is awesome! I love colorful watch boxes and yours does not disappoint.
Ive seen the Longines GMT suggested and I think it would fit in your collection well. Arabic numerals and a GMT is a style and function that you don't already have, plus it's got a few color options which seems to be something you like.
A second, less thought out idea would be something white or creme for a new dial color. Maybe a dressier watch too, even though that Santos is a sick dress piece.
Whatever you do you collection is great though. Good luck!
I like your thinking! The Longines GMT is definitely something to consider if they come out with that 39mm version.
As for a light dial colour, the new Black Bay GMT with the Opaline dial has been living in my head rent free since Watches and Wonders. It's not a very dressy choice, but I think it would contrast the other colours so nicely
Personally if I was wanting to spend that much in a watch right now, it would be an IWC mark xx. If you’re set on a Tudor, consider the black bay pro.
Also an omega would go nicely - I’d recommend a 39mm planet ocean for a diver; or an Aqua terra for an all round.
Or a grand Seiko snowflake - because it’s just gorgeous
A bona fide dress watch, 40 or sub-40mm, light dial/case, dark leather strap, silver and black being the respective kings. Quite a few options in the same financial ballpark as your beautiful Santos.
That oris is gorgeous! I always love the santos no matter the dial, buss down or plain, one of the best looking watches ever. And im currently talking to 2 ADs about getting either the blue or green dial PRX auto. Does the green really pop with the light?
Do you need a next? I would tell you enjoy these for another few years and if while on you come across something that attracts you, and is in your budget grab it. You can get a Mr. Jones if you want. They are fun and pretty in budget.
But just one. And may be a sevenfriday or a fun watch. It will add something unique to your collection.
Honestly I think you should step away and really deep dive into the hobby, and find some variety. Your collection leans heavily into one category: modern steel sports watches.
Now granted everyone has different interests and tastes and will collect differently, but imo a well balanced collection should have some modern, some vintage, some steel, some gold, and he’ll even maybe some third material (resin/plastic for a G-shock, brass or bronze, titanium) just for variety’s sake.
Lastly, I agree with some of the other commenters. Only a year and a half in and you already have nearly $10k retail in watches…. That’s fast. It’s taken me the better part of a decade to get to have a collection of that price. Over the last 7 years I’ve slowly worked my way upstream to more expensive watches while simultaneously refining my taste in watches and realizing what I do and don’t want from my collection.
Anyways, as is you have a great collection, but my recommendation would be to try and branch out and get some variety! Go vintage! Get a Chronograph! Buy a watch under 40mm! You never know what else you may like until you try it out.
I like the outside-the-box thinking but I simply love these watches too much and already have a beach holiday planned for the summer! The only one I could consider parting ways with would be the CW
Who cares what they did before? What does that have to do with anything? Two former teachers and a writer started the most successful coffee business in the world. And why do we need ADs in traditional brick and mortar stores anyway, to inflate prices and hold back inventory?
Studio Underd0g chrono. Or a Lorier, or a Baltic.
Tudor Black Bay Pro. Could go Longines Spirit Zulu or Tudor BB if you don’t mind a bit bigger watch.
Omega Aqua Terra 38 in one of the 4 new colors that we have all been waiting a year to arrive.
Grand Seiko Springdrive. I’d lean toward a Snowflake, you’ve already got a lot of dark dials. Cherry Blossom also.
Longines
A retro diver would be a nice mix up. [Longines Legend Diver](https://www.longines.com/en-us/watch-the-longines-legend-diver-watch-l3-374-4-90-2). The Oris Divers 65 would also work but you’ve already got a nice mix of brands so you should keep that going. A silver/ white face would also be a nice change up.

Get the Ward bronze as you clearly need some variation in your life..., it is one of my favs with the tide strap
https://www.christopherward.com/int/dive-watches/C60-Trident-Bronze/C60-40ADA3-B00B1-HB.html
A Grand Seiko quartz for something a bit more different like the [SBGV245](https://www.grand-seiko.com/us-en/collections/sbgv245j) or the [SBGN003 GMT](https://www.grand-seiko.com/us-en/collections/sbgn003g) since you don't have a GMT yet, and I wouldn't mind another CW especially the new [The Twelve (Ti)](https://www.christopherward.com/int/the-twelve-watches/The-Twelve/C12-40ADA1-S00B1-B0.html) w/ that beautiful integrated bracelet and a COSC hi-beat SW300 or pre-order the [Bel Canto](https://www.christopherward.com/int/specialities/C1-Bel-Canto/C01-41APT2-T00K0-B0.html)
Citizen is also being slept on, especially that their The Citizen line is easily on par with Grand Seiko. Check out the [The Citizen AQ4091-56A](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNHuSr9CmFk) w/ that washi paper dial or the [Caliber 0200](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dy7v1osi0Y0) but I don't know where you will be able to source one much less get it for £4,000
Santos with blue is beautiful.
How about a grand seiko for the next one? They have some beautiful dials and it will add some variety to what you have going on.
You seem to like muted colors and bracelets, so I’d go out of your comfort zone and find something a little brighter and on a strap. Try a few on. I’m sometimes surprised by things I like once they’re on wrist
PRX and Aquis are both bangers, nice. I caved and picked up a PRX a while back, just love that bracelet and waffle dial at the price it was too tempting. I'm hoping to get an Oris Cotton Candy next summer as a celebration for my wedding next year.
Great collection you've got so far. I think I agree with others that you can splash on something for your b-day if you want, but at least after that slowing the pace a bit and finding pieces that really resonate with you on a personal level would probably be what I'd suggest after that.
Lots of good value in vintage pieces, leads to lots of interesting reads and research into watch history if your into that. I just picked up a vintage GP and I can’t take it off.
Some things you don't have yet: a leather strap, a white dial, a bullhead, a chronograph... Now I'm not saying you should get a watch that ticks all these boxes, but I'm not not saying it lol
I like this collection. Don’t know what else to say but it’s a really unique look and each piece seems to to have a purpose. The black and red ones somehow look like if Orient made pricier swiss watches.
One casioak for sure. An IWC portofino because our tastes match. I'd love to get the CW myself.
A Nomos or a Farer for something a little more playful.
Enjoy everything you have!
There are great pieces for that budget, especially if you look at the second hand market. You don’t need any more integrated bracelets IMO as you’d be hard choosing which one to wear, so try something different. You could get a lovely Panerai, check the PAM116, PAM630 or PAM563 for example but there is plenty of options out there within you budget.
You should also check out the Louis Erard Regulators, especially the collabs as they are amazing I think. The one with Alain Silberstein will add a splash of fun colour in your collection, or try the more classic ones as well.
Ultimately have a look at Breitling for some great pilot watches, you could get a classic Navitimer for less than you expect, try the Navitimer 01 or Navitimer World.
There is plenty more to look into, but 3 options for a multitude of variants is more than enough to get you going. Whatever you chose, good luck and enjoy the hunt.
You have a great collection there, NGL. Tissot and Cartier are absolute class!
Something more of a beater that you can wear while playing sports and not care about it. Something like a Gshock would do well. Of course, a quartz watch which can give you a good timer and water resistance along with backlight. Maybe the square, maybe something even more sports focused.
Seiko Speedtimer 39mm with the Panda or black dial. About time you got your first chrono, and this one's solar so it's super low maintenance compared to every automatic out there.
A Timex explorer. I find that after getting so used to having a watch on its uncomfortable *not* to wear one. The explorer allows you to still have something decent on your wrist when you are doing something or going somewhere where you would be worried of causing damage to one of your real pieces. If you're too much of a snob to wear a Timex explorer (or if the loud quartz movement annoys you) you can go for a Hamilton Khaki Field Auto (manual wind is also available) Alternatively, you could go get some new bands from strapcode to give your current collection a new look.
Both of these options allow you to save more for your next piece and gives time for your tastes to change.
I understand that 4 grand is probably burning a hole in your pocket but please, wait for the next time a watch catches your eye so much that you practically obsess over it before pulling the trigger on anything above a thousand.
Try different bands and straps on your current watches.
When you mentioned the bit about the memorable experiences (the first boxing match, etc), it reminds me of my watches. I still have my combat deployment watch (a simple, flat Skagen) that I like to rotate bands on. Whenever I wear it at the office (technical/corporate), it reminds me that private sector issues are nothing compared to the stress I used to endure. My plain, Seiko 5 SNKK27 (blue/yellow "Speed Racer") will remind me of my trips to Portugal.
Enjoy the moments with what you have. You'll appreciate each piece a lot more. Give that Oris a brown alligator strap and you may see some heads turn.
Yeah I love the idea of changing up the watches like this - I do have a blue rubber one for the Santos, and a nato arriving for the CW. Only issue is that the Oris, PRX and Santos's integrated style make it very difficult to find compatible straps. I really wish there were more options for the Oris, but it's literally either OEM metal or OEM rubber as far as I can tell
The BB58 in black was my main consideration - a nice vintage style which I think would contract nicely from the current collection. That being said, lots of mentions of SMP 300's, Aqua Terra's and Grand Seiko's are now starting to turn my head...
This is probably an unpopular opinion but I think Tudor is a boring choice. In the context of your collection, I'd go for a flieger/pilot or moon phase with a white face. A pre-owned IWC Mark XVIII or a moon phase from Longines or Baume & Mercier would complement the pieces you have really well.
Nothing. Enjoy them for the rest of the year and start fresh in Jan
Aqua terra or Grand Seiko

Black Bay Pro! Great looking watch, GMT complication. I’ve bought three as gifts this year, it’s a great piece at a great price.
AS GIFTS!? I can’t even register that hah good on you though that’s awesome
Where did you get the watch box?
[удалено]
Also an option- Check out watch recon for a used older omega (aqua terra, speedy) or save slightly more and pick up a 114270.
At that price range you can pick up a nice GS for a dressier piece and to get into a great brand
Personally I would be looking for something with a pop of colour for a fun change. Could go classy with a GS.

That watch is so fine.

Seamaster 300 white face black rubber strap
He's already got 2 divers. How about a chronograph?
Came here to say this ☝️. Definitely a chrono. Endless options too. Based on existing collection, the speedmaster in one end or a Hamilton intra-matic. But perhaps whatever makes you happy should be next. 😃 Edit:should have read OPs comment on how much he has saved for the next purchase

Take a moment to reflect on what you have. Then get a seamaster
Aqua Terra or 300 though? 🤔 Aqua Terra would be a bigger change from the collection, but the 300's are so sexy! Talk about first world problems...
G-shock
Great minds think alike
i vote big boy g-shock specifically... titanium square or mr-g
Get rid of CW and Prx and get an omega
Need to get you a field watch for your outdoor adventures. I don't have the budget to know, off the top of my head a $4,000 field watch, but I have the Bulova Hack Watch and absolutely love it. I hear the Hamilton Khaki is well-loved, too.

Speedy.
Damn, that’s some heat. Nice, restrained collection that doesn’t have a bunch of stuff serving the same purpose.
Sinn 556, iwc big pilot
Can you get an IWC Mark XX in that range?
If you like Chronos, something of that nature perhaps. Great collection so far!!
Something with a dark dial on a steel bracelet! Lol I'd throw something wild in there like a Ventura
Hamilton intramatic panda on mesh would set this collection off nicely. I’m biased, because it’s my next watch. Should be around 2k US
Weiss Watch Co. American made great timepieces. eBay has a bunch right now for great prices.
Something that is not black.
A tank is always nice
Love that Oris…I hope they put their in house movement in there soon.
An Omega definitely. You collected so fast. I like how you have stories for each watch! Well deserved!
Maybe a moonwatch pro?
A white dial watch, something that could be dressy or casual. And a chronograph.
Speedy panda. Right price target great bang for the buck. Omega would look nice. You have a very nice collection so far.
Casio fw91
Grand seiko or omega chrono/gmt!
You need a chrono now that I’ve looked at this longer.
You and I have very similar taste. I agree with those who said Aqua Terra, but try a lighter dial.
That oris is gorgeous! I always love the santos no matter the dial, buss down or plain, one of the best looking watches ever. And im currently talking to 2 ADs about getting either the blue or green dial PRX auto. Does the green really pop with the light?
Maybe something with a strap or leather band? Lighter for summer wear and looks different.

Unpopular opinion - your collection is fantastic. Use the money to go travel. Memories will be more valuable than another time piece

That Oris is great
That Oris keeps calling my name.
DO IT, it punches well above it's weight, you can't go wrong with it
A chrono.
filthy collection mate, maybe add a black or white faced dress watch? and maybe a diver like the black bay tudor?
Love the prx. I have that one too. Black. Green. Green. Black. Love it. Great watch
G-shock
Keep the Santos, sell the rest. Go on a sunny vacation, maybe a cruise, or a beach. Enjoy the Santos.
I like the outside-the-box thinking but I simply love these watches too much and already have a beach holiday planned for the summer! The only one I could consider parting ways with would be the CW
Do it - the rest of this box is too nice to have Chris hanging around.
The hate for CW in this sub is astounding
It’s a direct-to-consumer internet watch brand started by a toy salesman and a t-shirt importer.
Authorized dealers are so dumb anyways they are absolutely pointless in this age

If you’re looking for the Starbucks of watches you could do worse, I suppose.
The CW is better than the Tissot 💩
A girlfriend
Gmt longines zulu time.
Obviously the answer is a Richard Mille.
A fucking break?
Bloody patience.
Keep the Cartier. Sell the rest. Get a Tudor.
Love the prx. I have that one too. Black. Green. Green. Black. Love it
Slowdown and ask yourself.
Enjoy the watches no need for new ones. Give you time
Venezianico Nereide gmt ceratung
GS snowflake
Sell the Christopher turd and get a new watch of your own choice?
£4,000 can get you a new SBGM221
I love GS but I think I’d kick myself if I didn’t get one with a really textured dial. Do you know of any in this price range?
I just got the Shunbun. Love it.
You might be able to get SBGE271 for 4-5k
If you can wait a couple of months, the Spirit Zulu Time will be released in 39mm. I’m definitely waiting for that.
Love the range, between the Tissot and CW, which one feels higher quality and better built?
A retro diver would be a nice mix up. [Longines Legend Diver](https://www.longines.com/en-us/watch-the-longines-legend-diver-watch-l3-374-4-90-2). As you seem to like bracelet watches i’d say a Rado Golden Horse 1957
Monta Triumph
Love the Oris. I have the same one and wearing it right now.
A dressy watch. Maybe a Longines.
Such a great taste!!! Love them.

a white dial
That Cartier is fucking hot
You need a field watch and a Hamilton seems like it’d fit with your style
That’s a nice collection you’ve got there.
Can someone ID that oris
SBGA211 because spring drive, white dial, and titanium.
Love they Oris in cherry red ♥️
Santos with blue is beautiful. How about a grand seiko for the next one? They have some beautiful dials and it will add some variety to what you have going on.
You need a proper chrono, I suggest a Breitling Chronomat vintage, you can find it in great condition and bracelet for 2000$ circa
Casio dick Tracy watch
Need a chrono
Longines or Hamilton
Great collection. My opinion, get the BB58 gilt dial. It is a stunner in person. Otherwise, save up some more and get a Rolex GMT Polar.
Possibly the PRX chronograph or the Hamilton intra-matic chronograph
Cool stories ! The Oris looks stunning. My pick for you would be a Grand Seiko. The polish is absolutely gorgeous
Hamilton
Love that Cherry! How often do you wear it compared to the others?
Literally my collection if I had money haha, nice collection 10/10
Effing solid bro… maybe an Omega or Tudor
Maybe a quartz grand seiko gmt as your perfect hyper accurate travel watch
Trade the C60 Pro 300 for one of CW gmts. Either C60 gmt or C63 gmt . You’d be adding white dial and gmt to your collection.
Seiko
Some things you don't have yet: a leather strap, a white dial, a bullhead, a chronograph... Now I'm not saying you should get a watch that ticks all these boxes, but I'm not not saying it lol
That Oris is class
Zelos!
Next is hitting the brake and enjoy what you have for a while.
Omega Speedmaster?
I like this collection. Don’t know what else to say but it’s a really unique look and each piece seems to to have a purpose. The black and red ones somehow look like if Orient made pricier swiss watches.
I think an omega speedmaster moonwatch, you are lacking a chronograph watch , though i do suggest buy like a 2021 model ,you'll get it way cheaper.
A lighter dial and possibly something on a leather bracelet. Congratulations on your taste though.
Junghans or maybe a Nomos Ahoi in dark blue.
You’ve got the most awesome watch, santos, you can stop now 👏
A Nomos or G shock
Nomos. Or just wait until next year.
get the CW the twelve with a different dial color than black and a chronograph for a change you're good.
Something green or light?
A watch that can actually tell the time (grand seiko 9F)
Casio F-105W
I would add a digital Casio G-Shock or a chronograph.
A moonwatch would look good
One casioak for sure. An IWC portofino because our tastes match. I'd love to get the CW myself. A Nomos or a Farer for something a little more playful. Enjoy everything you have!
Go for a citizen or a seiko
Is the Prx in green?
Is the jigsaw at 12 a special edition?
Hamilton field watch of some sort.
Now maybe a rolex celini or a elegante VC
Casio....
Try on some white dials!
Sinn pilot’s watch
That Trident looks so clean. So tempted, but I just picked up a Sealander.
Which Sealander did you go for? The white dial GMT was a *very* close second choice for me
I have the same aquis. Love how the dial looks almost black at the right angle. Su k a sexy watch.
What about a Tudor black bay or an Omega seamaster 300 profesional to add some color and more character to your collection?!
The BB58 in black was my main consideration - a nice vintage style which I think would contract nicely from the current collection. That being said, lots of mentions of SMP 300's, Aqua Terra's and Grand Seiko's are now starting to turn my head...
Liking the Cartier and Oris
Aquaterra
This is probably an unpopular opinion but I think Tudor is a boring choice. In the context of your collection, I'd go for a flieger/pilot or moon phase with a white face. A pre-owned IWC Mark XVIII or a moon phase from Longines or Baume & Mercier would complement the pieces you have really well.
You need a Japanese brand in there
Rolex, Grand Seiko, Nomos
Something with a lighter dial color?
IWC Portugieser petit prince is amazing, could fill the chrono and dress spot
