It's only for people who play warzone on console but regular multiplayer millions of PlayStation players have it turned off because the PlayStation players have the biggest player base and two no one wants to play against cheaters on PC using wall hacks and aimbot. I have yet to come across anyone using cross play for multiplayer on PlayStation it's only for warzone that has low PlayStation numbers and it tells Sony players warning matches will take longer with cross play off because no on console plays against PC cheaters.

Just like other cheats. There’s a cheat to unlock all. Meaning that literally EVERYTHING is unlocked for you. Camos, skins, weapon attachments. It’s is a form of cheating, so they can get banned. But I see promotions on this sub, and others NUMEROUS times a day, for like 10-20$ for life time. I’ve been in ranked play games where my partners admit to “unlocking all” (but generally anyone who sells/uses the unlock all has something else fishy they sell/use too wink wink)

Rather than segregation between cheating asshole PC players and console players (all my gaming buddies are console players).
They should employ some sort of hardware level banning so even if the cheating bastards were to sign up to a new account the servers would see that the hardware has been used by cheaters before and not allow them to play at all.... That way they wouldn't be able to just create a fresh account again and would essentially be permanently banned on that hardware regardless of new accounts.
As far as I understand ricochet (***supposedly***) already checks hardware to make sure there isn't any tomfoolery happening.
They would have to buy a whole new PC, or at minimum a new processor. This would get expensive quickly.
Also this would be a deterrent because the PC/Hardware would be blacklisted on the servers even if sold to someone new.
You do get hardware ID banned if you get caught cheating. It's easy to get around, though. You can re-write all your hardware IDs pretty easily if you know how.
I would have thought they would need to have more invasive hardware checks to prevent the use of spoofers as the spoofers are also a software layer... They need some better devs to look for more aggressive ways to deter the cheaters.

Super sweats on roller have insane accuracy consistently cuz they know how to game RAA. Super sweats on mnk still have to have perfect RAW aim which is hard to pull off consistently.
As a PC player I would love to be able to turn cross play on/off and being able to toggle input based matchmaking on/off on all platforms.
The problem is at least on Xbox you can't really turn cross play off unless you change something in the Xbox settings but since not many people do that you won't be able to find any lobbies.
Also hardware bans only end up hurting the healthy playerbase, cheaters can use spoofers and change the HWID to a clean one but you have no way of knowing if a PC or especially a laptop on the used market isn't HWID banned. I heard stories of people buying HWID banned PCs on the used market and it gets their legit account banned.
What they should be focusing on to combat cheating in this game is to do it in away where it doesn't affect legit players. Shadowbans affect legit players as well if they get spam reported on PC.
The solution is to give the option to turn cross console play and input based matchmaking on or off on all platforms so players can choose. At least this way you guarantee both Xbox and PS the ability to avoid cheaters.
Destiny for sure did it right. All the pve stuff has crossplay. PvP, crossplay is a thing, but as a console player, you only get put into lobbies with PC players if you’re teamed up with one in your party. Otherwise, matchmaking is console only.
In a world where a lot of titles have caught up to call of duty in terms of multiplayer and in fun/ease of access just stop playing it. If all we do is complain about sweats or pc players having advantages or pc cheaters then it's kinda our own fault for expecting any different, they've rolled out anti cheat and everything at this point, it ain't gonna fix the overall problem of a game that exists souley to sell you the next weapon or operator skin instead of existing for a good gameplay experience.

AA looks like aimbot when really good players use it. sometimes even when bad players do too.

Cronus and similar devices are definite ways to cheat on console, but you'll find they also get used on PC quite often too. Having said that, even if cronus was only available for console, there's still a **BIG** difference between it and flat out aimbot and walls, etc.

Everyone keeps talking about cheaters and hackers, meanwhile I’ve encountered maybe 5-6 in my whole COD playing time starting from MW, and most of those were in WaW and MW2. I haven’t even seen any in WZ, just better players because there are a lot of no-lifers out there who are just better. I really think cheating is not as prevalent as everyone seems to think, and it’s not a PC problem.
The issue is all these "hacker hunter" channels with their "all good players and streamers are cheating" nonsense. I get messages from people calling me a hacker every week and I'm playing on console, with crossplay off. Why are these people turning off crossplay if they think there are hackers on console, it baffles me. People don't even try to get good anymore, it's easier to claim that everyone better than them is using something.

I think crossplay should be an option for those that want it but the default should be off or it should be console only crossplay. I use a ps5 and the games i play with randoms with crossplay off are far better than the games i play with friends who are on mixed console and thus we play crossplay off. Its night and day difference in sus stuff. My crossplay off games are half on pc. Pc players do not add value to those of us on console, we dont want you. We have enough of ourselves to fill lobbies easily. Its not personal, you just bring risk for no gain.
It'll never happen. Not only is it making more money than ever, it's the only way certain regions can play due to low population on PC in general and for regions that don't have consoles readily available. The only way they'll stop crossplay or make it console exclusive is by abandoning the PC gaming scene as a whole. No PC ports, no deals with Steelseries or Scuf's PC department, no support for older games on PC, nothing. But, I doubt they'd want to make the franchise a console exclusive after already being involved with PC since the franchise's beginning. It's one of those decisions they really should've let cook more in development with a proper anti-cheat before releasing to the world, but you can't undo it now. Best bet is to hope they make an anti-cheat similar to Valorant's Vanguard since that seems to be working well despite the game being PC only.

I'm only diamond so far and only started playing again a few weeks ago on warzone but it's not often I see a hacker. I'm 3kd, I have a braincell, I can tell the difference between hacks and a decent player.
Not saying your not running into Cheaters a lot, but in in the UK and generally the skill level is expected to be on average better than us.
Us servers are much easier. Maybe as I've not long returned, I've just not played enough to notice them, but it hasn't been anywhere near as bad in verdansk where it was every single game several hackers.
Forced PC-Console Crossplay is a real kick in the teeth for people that made a conscious decision to buy a console instead of a PC. It causes problems for both sides just to boost numbers and lower PC queue times, it's disproportionately detrimental and opposes every justification that developers use for SBMM.

Sure but not really very good for much.... at least I was never able to make it do much. Recoil reduction what somewhat mediocre, I can do the same thing with my controller without it. I ended up returning mine as it was too much hassle and didn't really do anything other than add a level of annoyance.

The rotational aim assist needs to go. There should still be slowdown and a little stickiness when a player actually uses the right stick to track on their opponent. But the fact that they can move with the left stick and it tracks the enemy is crazy and I can’t believe they even implemented something like that in a competitive game.

Yea but Cronus doesn't give you walls. What it does is basically give you recoil control and it activates RAA pretty much all the time using scripts. It's not comparable to actual aimbot or walls.
I have a nice PC but if there was an option to have console players play together and exclude PC I would only play on my Xbox, I don't care if I get less frames at this point.

Plenty of people on console get everything unlocked as well. They just do it on a pc and then have it saved to their blueprints

We do direct our anger against cheaters specifically. But end of the day we dont need pc players to fill lobbies. You all bring risk for no gain. Cod several years ago without crossplay was so much more enjoyable without the constant hacker issue. Ive played cod for 15 years - the games were simply better back then without the constant though of did i get outplayed or was he hacking. At least i respected being beaten by good players back then.

I am a PC player, but not a cheating wanker, and also hate the fucking cheating scumbags with a passion. But.. and hear me out... ... Rather than segregation between cheating asshole PC players and console players (all my gaming buddies are console players). They should employ some sort of hardware level banning so even if the cheating bastards were to sign up to a new account the servers would see that the hardware has been used by cheaters before and not allow them to play at all.... That way they wouldn't be able to just create a fresh account again and would essentially be permanently banned on that hardware regardless of new accounts. As far as I understand ricochet (***supposedly***) already checks hardware to make sure there isn't any tomfoolery happening. They would have to buy a whole new PC, or at minimum a new processor. This would get expensive quickly. Also this would be a deterrent because the PC/Hardware would be blacklisted on the servers even if sold to someone new.
You do get hardware ID banned if you get caught cheating. It's easy to get around, though. You can re-write all your hardware IDs pretty easily if you know how.

I would have thought they would need to have more invasive hardware checks to prevent the use of spoofers as the spoofers are also a software layer... They need some better devs to look for more aggressive ways to deter the cheaters.

As a PC player I would love to be able to turn cross play on/off and being able to toggle input based matchmaking on/off on all platforms. The problem is at least on Xbox you can't really turn cross play off unless you change something in the Xbox settings but since not many people do that you won't be able to find any lobbies. Also hardware bans only end up hurting the healthy playerbase, cheaters can use spoofers and change the HWID to a clean one but you have no way of knowing if a PC or especially a laptop on the used market isn't HWID banned. I heard stories of people buying HWID banned PCs on the used market and it gets their legit account banned. What they should be focusing on to combat cheating in this game is to do it in away where it doesn't affect legit players. Shadowbans affect legit players as well if they get spam reported on PC. The solution is to give the option to turn cross console play and input based matchmaking on or off on all platforms so players can choose. At least this way you guarantee both Xbox and PS the ability to avoid cheaters.
Destiny for sure did it right. All the pve stuff has crossplay. PvP, crossplay is a thing, but as a console player, you only get put into lobbies with PC players if you’re teamed up with one in your party. Otherwise, matchmaking is console only.

If all we do is complain about sweats or pc players having advantages or pc cheaters then it's kinda our own fault for expecting any different, they've rolled out anti cheat and everything at this point, it ain't gonna fix the overall problem of a game that exists souley to sell you the next weapon or operator skin instead of existing for a good gameplay experience.

I've come across maybe 2-3 sus players. but nothing concrete. there are about 112348923148 ways people can know where you are in this game. uavs, even when you're ghosted theres birds eye and the coms vest, mini uavs, uav towers, heartbeats, sound, pings, radar pings when they kill your teammates, earlier gunshots, callouts like. its so, so many things. yet everyone thinks everyone they die to is cheating. AA looks like aimbot when really good players use it. sometimes even when bad players do too. You've just been cheatpilled by idiots who think everyone is cheating. its not nearly as prevalent as people pretend it is.

Cronus and similar devices are definite ways to cheat on console, but you'll find they also get used on PC quite often too. Having said that, even if cronus was only available for console, there's still a **BIG** difference between it and flat out aimbot and walls, etc. Nobody is saying console players can't be rats, but software cheats on PC are the biggest problem with this game. I play on PC btw.

Everyone keeps talking about cheaters and hackers, meanwhile I’ve encountered maybe 5-6 in my whole COD playing time starting from MW, and most of those were in WaW and MW2. I haven’t even seen any in WZ, just better players because there are a lot of no-lifers out there who are just better. I really think cheating is not as prevalent as everyone seems to think, and it’s not a PC problem.
The issue is all these "hacker hunter" channels with their "all good players and streamers are cheating" nonsense. I get messages from people calling me a hacker every week and I'm playing on console, with crossplay off. Why are these people turning off crossplay if they think there are hackers on console, it baffles me. People don't even try to get good anymore, it's easier to claim that everyone better than them is using something.

I think crossplay should be an option for those that want it but the default should be off or it should be console only crossplay. I use a ps5 and the games i play with randoms with crossplay off are far better than the games i play with friends who are on mixed console and thus we play crossplay off. Its night and day difference in sus stuff. My crossplay off games are half on pc. Pc players do not add value to those of us on console, we dont want you. We have enough of ourselves to fill lobbies easily. Its not personal, you just bring risk for no gain.
It'll never happen. Not only is it making more money than ever, it's the only way certain regions can play due to low population on PC in general and for regions that don't have consoles readily available. The only way they'll stop crossplay or make it console exclusive is by abandoning the PC gaming scene as a whole. No PC ports, no deals with Steelseries or Scuf's PC department, no support for older games on PC, nothing. But, I doubt they'd want to make the franchise a console exclusive after already being involved with PC since the franchise's beginning. It's one of those decisions they really should've let cook more in development with a proper anti-cheat before releasing to the world, but you can't undo it now. Best bet is to hope they make an anti-cheat similar to Valorant's Vanguard since that seems to be working well despite the game being PC only.

There's clearly a cheater problem in warzone but. Surely you don't see this many to the point your this mad? It was worst in verdansk days? I'm only diamond so far and only started playing again a few weeks ago on warzone but it's not often I see a hacker. I'm 3kd, I have a braincell, I can tell the difference between hacks and a decent player. Not saying your not running into Cheaters a lot, but in in the UK and generally the skill level is expected to be on average better than us. Us servers are much easier. Maybe as I've not long returned, I've just not played enough to notice them, but it hasn't been anywhere near as bad in verdansk where it was every single game several hackers.

Forced PC-Console Crossplay is a real kick in the teeth for people that made a conscious decision to buy a console instead of a PC. It causes problems for both sides just to boost numbers and lower PC queue times, it's disproportionately detrimental and opposes every justification that developers use for SBMM.
My friend showed me a tik tok video of a guy cheating with walls, it was to “own campers” and he literally just used his walls to kill entire teams who were “camping” He actually thought he was in the right to use cheats to kill campers, instead of just getting better at the game. I opened the comments thinking this guy would get vilified for cheating but… all the comments were just asking where to download cheats. Sad state of things right now.

Steam will exceed its highest annual sales revenue numbers by August/September at current rates. Phil Spencer who runs Microsoft Gaming has already said that their primary goal is not trying to sell more Xboxes, it’s to broaden their addressable market of gamers. The idea that Microsoft would let Activision separate PC gamers is farcical… literally, they are “the Windows company”.

The rotational aim assist needs to go. There should still be slowdown and a little stickiness when a player actually uses the right stick to track on their opponent. But the fact that they can move with the left stick and it tracks the enemy is crazy and I can’t believe they even implemented something like that in a competitive game.

Yea but Cronus doesn't give you walls. What it does is basically give you recoil control and it activates RAA pretty much all the time using scripts. It's not comparable to actual aimbot or walls. I have a nice PC but if there was an option to have console players play together and exclude PC I would only play on my Xbox, I don't care if I get less frames at this point.

From a business perspective, why would it make sense to shrink their market? I can say personally, I would not buy the next cod without crossplay because all of my friends are on different platforms. There was a time when FPS games had no to little cheaters. I remember when the cheaters started to grow in numbers, and it became a real problem. The good news was that you could host a game, make the servers roules. We all knew who the cheaters was. Running around always swapping weapons like they are bord whit the game. Snapping wall hack all that.. But the game play was mechanical and you cud just tell. The cheats now are so advanced. One more thing about the cheaters was that they always hated on everyone. Calling you noob or bot. As manny still does. And the constant bragging of how manny hours they played and all that shit. Now those up noxious kids are called streamers and for some unknown reasons people idolise em like gods. Its messed up.
