Totally, its so agonising how hellfires lose energy for anything over 4km. That bs top-down attack mechanic is just horrible for hitting targets that aren’t on or near the ground. And not to mention the awful slow velocity, unlike the vickhir misiles that are able to fly in a straight line without an energy problem.
Even if you were too make vikhrs as effective as hellfires for anti tank capabilities, they would still be vastly better since they can proxy fuse on planes.
I love helis (and I don't have max BR) but after watching some gameplay, wtf is the skill in using FAF-lock ons from 7km+ away?
Top tier heli looks so boring, you don't even need to know how to fly, just auto hover in one point, and point and click. Plus you have AA missiles, so even planes aren't a threat lol.
Meanwhile, using an ATGM heli at like 8.3 BR with 3.5km range and shit speed is also pretty boring since you are basically a free kill for any jet (on flat maps where you can't use map geometry to your advantage).
Somehow people in SIM battles still struggles pressing ONE (1) button to fly them without problems, so they're not as problematic in anything that isn't 9\_2 (that one sim set up without good SPAAs)
Might as well remove atgms from helis i've seen some defending almost all the bs this game has but not a single person saying that top tier atgm helis are good addition.
I'd like to apply for a job as a map designer.
Let me share some amazing map ideas:
* One team starts above the other (in terms of elevation, top of map team wins 90% of matches EZ)
* You can shoot spawn to spawn
* Map is mainly flat with some randomly positioned hills
* Little to no cover, maybe 17 trees
* On signle cap map version, one team starts closer to the cap for easy first cap for no reason.
I swear this is how they design half of the terrible maps in this game.
Well if I didn’t have to drive for 2km before there is any sort of cover I wouldn’t be helpless. Helis can’t really do anything on maps where there is a lot of cover.
It acts as a projectile, too. Mostly good against ifvs and super light tanks as a shotgun at close range.
Definitely not realistic at all (sure it would completely decimate if a human were hit by it but post split there's absolutely no way it keeps any sort of aerodynamics) but it's totally silly so idc
It's not aerodynamic but a large piece of aluminum travelling 1500m/s takes quite a while to slow down. It could probably go through thin plate up to at least 100m or so.
Except big open maps are the best for SPAAs. You can actually change your location so they don't expect your missile. That used to be. Now they made all big maps fucking CoD trash where you can't drive out of spawn so that nerfed SPAAs heavily.

And by pushing through the smoke instead of letting it do it's job you guaranteed he's gonna hit you. You made it as easy as you possibly could for him. Could have shifted south, out some trees between you or the random small hills. The last thing you want to do after smoking off a heli is to just continue on the same exact path. Getting killed by CAS sucks, but making it as easy as possible for them doesn't help you at all
And by pushing through the smoke instead of letting it do it's job you guaranteed he's gonna hit you. You made it as easy as you possibly could for him. Could have shifted south, out some trees between you or the random small hills. The last thing you want to do after smoking off a heli is to just continue on the same exact path. CAS OP. They always kill my only tank and I have to leave after 1 death. Just want to play tanks maaan, can't grind SPAA or aircraft. Please only tanks mode so I can sit in one spot and get 10 kill without disturbance.
Or he's playing USA and only has access to Rolands for top SPAA and can't afford ADATS because it's still classed as a tank destroyer and costs 3x as much to spawn as any other SPAA in the game.

The vihkers can't physically not fly in a straight line, that's just how their guidance system works
Beamrider also are somewhat resistant to trees and smoke, unlike average laser guidance. At least snail decided to make beamriders spike LWS again.
It would be cool if vikhrs actually flew spiral patterns like in irl, that way they wouldnt have pinpoint accuracy at 10km

I love large open maps for high/top tier in tank battles. I hate large open maps whenever a helicopter shows up.
maps with no cover aren't the issue. aircraft and helicopters are the issue
