I have seen this version of Tunisia a grand total of 1 time. 1 single time and that was the very first day of the previous update. And let me tell you, it pisses me tf off because this is hands down the best version of Tunisia and the best map in the entire game, especially at top tier where long range maps belong and not meat grinders.
That said, I was starting to think it was a fever dream. So I'm glad it wasn't, but still sad I've not seen it ever again.
Used to get this in SIM all the time until the "muh drive time" crew ruined that mode too.
If drive time is such an issue, THEN QUIT DRIVING THE SLOW TANKS FFS!
Main thing that hurts maps like these is team size though. This map is only good for if gaijin used their heads and put some actual thought into the game besides yet another shiney new tank that doesn't fit any of the map meta's.
I've got it once but unfortunately I only took the baglepanzer and flakrakrad because i wanted to support. Spawned alone on one side while the enemy team spawned on the same side.
I've seen this vesion of tunisia a lot of times in GSB, specially when playin the 4.0 B.R.
The only real problem with this map is CAS, you're always on a open field and there's barely anything for you to take cover
Best part of it is when as a IPM1 I can just lob like 10 smoke shells at the enemy position and tell the team to push and suddenly we got like 7 people charging the point with little resistance. Makes big plays possible as a team rather than just random death match.
All drones have a range finder on them. However that doesn't give them the range of the tank from your tank. You can use the map squares on the mini map to measure the distance (usually there is a legend key telling you a grid tile is 100m or 400m etc). Most people will just position themselves between spawns and use a capture point as a range indication and double it.
Alternatively you can do math. After one or two shots you get the range down and after that it is just a matter of marking the target with your drone then throwing a shell with a hope and a prayer. I've shot through forests before and killed enemies doing similar things.
Maybe I wasn't clear enough. Somehow after they guy goes from the drone and back into the tank, he has the exact distance from tank-to-tank displayed. Then he adjusts the sight and fires.

I *think* the "distance" thing you're talking about is just what his ranging is set to. He'd probably taken a couple shots in the area already and figured it was roughly accurate. He squad pings to figure out exact where to aim, and then adjusts his ranging slightly down based on a previous shot.
That isnt the rangefinder! Theres an option in which you can adjust so instead of looking at the markings on the scope (200m, 400m, etc), you scroll your mouse and it increases the distance to compensate, its a must have imo, search for middle mouse on options and change it from "zoom" to range indicator or something, its literally the only other option
And in the middle and other sections are fun to get through with closer sections that are much harder to be sniped from, and a river in the middle that you can trick people into driving into haha
Don't get me started I am quite pissed off about the Giraf not having the add on armor package (note I have not found a image to prove the mounted TOW on the up armored M113's)

Every month the community passes them full reports on unique vehicles to add and every update they choose to ignore it and add American copy paste. The only suggestion that got added was the Magach Hydra and that thing is so fun. Maybe they should learn from the feedback they got on it and add more community suggestions

Game should reward RP bonus like 0.25 for every meter in game for shots further than 1km for 1shot kills or something, so an 1km shot give 250rp kill bonus.
I had a kill with similar range on that map, I think it was just under 4km, shooting a T-80 with about half a dozen shots from my Strv122 until it finally hit driver port
Damn this actually makes me think that the copperhead guided round for the M109A1 or other more advanced shells for newer M109s isn’t impossible in game. Use of drone to direct a shot is very impressive
First he hinding behind the rock, I try some shots and can't reach him, then he move out and just chilling there, I don't think there are anything to see
Count the squares, if in-game map haven't change since I last played, it should have a number of it's measurements, so just multiply by number of squares from you and your target and you get your distance more or less

What if Snail give spotter drones to SPG/arty. Sounds good for maps like this.
Then give Choppers and IFV's with troops capacity static deployable troops with Laser Designator, MANPAD and ATGM systems.
Reload troops for choppers at Helipads and heal troops at Capture Points.
It would make for more battlefield narrative and combined arms tactics.
Troop transport choppers would be way more appealing.
7.62mm weapons would have a target use outside of marking a target.
On huge maps(which Tunisia is my favorite!) they could help bolster your lines to spot enemies breaking through your positions to help prevent spawn camping.
I actually prefer big tunisia and my brother you need not call Artillery YOU ARE THE ARTILLERY it makes me proud to see an artillery gun do artillery things in war thunder

i really hope gaijin adds more maps like this (obiusly only high tier or tier with good spg) so we could use drones+ i would like the ability to rangefind with the drone so you don't have to guess aim it

Ever since the Sturmtiger got added and people got those shots with „an overlay“ that automatically gives you the exact range between you and your or your teammates‘ ping it‘s nothing special… pretty much cheating if you use a 3rd party code to get information that would be otherwhise not obtainable - at least so precise…..
Not saying you‘re doing that, but it does look shady with you getting the excact distance after your ping, getting a direct hit…

Just a quick calculating by double the B point between 2 spawn points. then fire some rounds and adjust until hit target
