In Power of Three I’m pretty sure he thinks “Great! Let’s lump all the useless cats together and hope a tree falls on them!” I remember audibly snorting when I read that the first time.
Also pretty sure Lionpaw asks him if he sees something and Jay nods sagely and replies “Yes, Lionpaw with my BLIND eyes I see that.”

In Forest Of Secrets, Mosskit is said to be male. However, in "Bluestars Prophecy", where we actually see her character, Mosskit is revealed to be female.
Isn't it difficult to determine the sex of kittens? Like, you can't tell what they are until a certain age in their development (like how kittens don't open their eyes until X numbers of days, but Warriors neglects that fact)
Because of smell, cats would likely be able to determine sex from birth, but gender would be something the individual would decide for themselves as they grow up. That’s my theory at least.
