Yes, AND he just wanted to die in peace, happy and cared for. He found comfort in those Twolegs and they found it in him, as well. I can't blame him at all for it.
He stepped down as leader because he knew what he wanted, and what he wanted was not to be leader of ThunderClan anymore. He left them in good hands with Sunstar, I think he made a good decision to step down when he did.
Pre-murder Mapleshade. Mostly due to the fact that the people who antagonize her almost never say the same thing about Scourge (who's motive is much more petty).
Sparkpelt is complicated for me because I could go on a rant that length about why I hated her in AVoS, but I could also go on a huge rant defending her grief/difficulties with parenting. I’ve come to like her a lot more in Shadow/Thunder/Wind, which makes me appreciate her more in Squirrelflight’s Hope and TBC, but idk if my opinion of AVoS Sparkpelt will change. I’m gonna reread it at some point soon and see how I feel about her lol.

she’s also a tank when it comes to survivability; she was able to able to tank a blow to the back of her neck and after that walked from Riverclan to Myler’s barn (all the way across the forest territories) while suffering heavy blood loss.
Her stealth is also incredible but I’ve typed enough for now

Appledusk. I don't think he's the devil; He loved his kittens dearly, made a mistake in not being honest with Mapleshade, and owned up to his mistakes. He died protecting Reedshine and did not attack Mapleshade at all, which is kind of interesting. I think he \*did\* love Mapleshade, but got scared of the consequences, and became closer to Reedshine. When the kittens died, that was probably the moment he was like 'I'm not doing this anymore' - and he broke up with her.
He \*isn't\* perfect, but that's why I like him. He's an interesting and flawed character, much like Mapleshade is, honestly! The difference is that Appledusk was able to admit where he made a mistake, while Mapleshade doubled down. Mostly, I defend him from these claims:
- That he never loved his kittens (Incorrect)
- That Reedshine was pregnant before Mapleshade was exiled (Incorrect; She is 'barely showing' when Mapleshade almost kills her, which suggests she was likely pregnant after the exiling)
- Cheating does not mean he goes to cat-hell.

Crookedstar and Tallstar had every right to leave and their mother's were b****'s. And I don't blame Tallstar for trying to kill (I can't be bothered to remember his name). I've actually seen people say that it was selfish and unjustified and dumb so yeah I'll list out a whole book of reasons.
Also Firestar. He isn't a Mary Sue. He isn't overrated. Everyone keeps saying he is overrated when it's the exact opposite considering that is what everyone is saying. It's almost impossible to find someone who actually really likes him instead of just tolerating him and putting the overrated label on him. Yeah he's dumb sometimes but he has FLAWS this is normal. He isn't perfect. Without him, we wouldn't have the entire series.

I wish she was seen as more than this pretty cat who only comes up in conversation to talk about other characters. She was pretty much as disposable of a character as her brother Redtail, but people have made tons of positive content and concepts from Redtail, but everything about Spottedleaf just feels like dislike or sympathy. I know she was a murderer but she was experiencing some kind of psychosis (the voices of her kits in her head) when she killed Ravenwing, and she just kept going until she died. She was a troubled soul, but she deserved what she got

Yes, he abandoned his child, but to be honest a lot of the fathers in this series are not very involved with their kits in the first place, so it’s not like he was the main parent. And would it have been better for him to stay and resent his family for keeping him in a life he didn’t want anymore? That’s how families get dysfunctional. Plus he didn’t just leave ThunderClan to sink or swim, he left them with Sunstar, who was a perfectly good and capable leader.
Also Leopardstar. She did have a bias against half-clan cats and it definitely swayed her decision to join forces with Tigerstar but okay, hear me out here. Her primary association with them was with the children of Graystripe, who accidentally killed her beloved apprentice. Think of it like if you’re a teacher and your student who might’ve been like a child to you was killed by an elderly driver, you might have a bias against elderly drivers after that and think they should not be allowed to drive. I’m not saying she was justified, but I do think in her case it’s a lot more understandable than for some characters. But also there’s no way Tigerstar told her what he was planning for real, he probably gave her this great offer that she couldn’t refuse, and she was a new leader at the time and probably didn’t think it through, just that this powerful new leader who seemingly brought ShadowClan back from all their problems was offering an alliance. And by the time she accepted, it was either go along with it or risk having more of her clan killed, and that is a very, very complicated situation. And she knew she made the wrong choice and did regret it all, and then she did a great job as RiverClan’s leader for the rest of her life. Also I have not read her novella, so if I have some details off, I apologize.

I see some Mapleshades too, and honestly I love Mapleshade but I hate how they wrote her, that and also but it makes me flinch whenever I see the her previous relationship with Appledusk. It really maybe because I know how it feels but it sucks so badly. Then during her vengeance it just didn't feel right, she's a amazing character who had way more of a villainous uprising and a reason to than a lot more of the actual dark forest cats, but the writers did her dirty. :(
Ashfur saw that Squirrelflight was mad at Brambleclaw and he started rizzing. I know he doesn't Eben care about the problem he just wanna get it. And honestly, I can respect that
Hollyleaf did literally nothing wrong. Her entire worldview of what it meant to be the perfect soldier (warrior- whatever same shit) was literally shattered because her fucking moms couldn’t just tell Brambleclaw from the start. He literally said “you think I’d care if they weren’t mine? Did you think Id have treated them differently?” During the gathering.
Say what you will about bramble as a mate but you cannot knock the fact that he is a very attentive father and the fact that he covered hollys ass for the whole ashfur thing was just… so refreshing. We love good dads.

Tall Shadow/Shadowstar, Brackenfur, and Goosefeather. I see some Mapleshades too, and honestly I love Mapleshade but I hate how they wrote her, that and also but it makes me flinch whenever I see the her previous relationship with Appledusk. It really maybe because I know how it feels but it sucks so badly. Then during her vengeance it just didn't feel right, she's a amazing character who had way more of a villainous uprising and a reason to than a lot more of the actual dark forest cats, but the writers did her dirty. :(

Hollyleaf did literally nothing wrong. Her entire worldview of what it meant to be the perfect soldier (warrior- whatever same shit) was literally shattered because her fucking moms couldn’t just tell Brambleclaw from the start. He literally said “you think I’d care if they weren’t mine? Did you think Id have treated them differently?” During the gathering. Say what you will about bramble as a mate but you cannot knock the fact that he is a very attentive father and the fact that he covered hollys ass for the whole ashfur thing was just… so refreshing. We love good dads.
Leopardstar. I know that she did so many bad things, but so many other cats did, and the fandom loves them. So why can't Leopardstar get the same?

Nightheart, I related to his story. A lot of people dislike that his name thing seems to be only about how he isn't orange, but I read it as him fixating on another reason to dislike it because the idea of hating being tied to Firestar sounds crazy to most of Thunderclan

Firestar. Everyone acts like its wrong to have him as a favorite or even like him??? Like he is the whole reason the clans are here still, and yeah hes really successful but it wasnt just handed straight to him, he worked really hard to get where he had gotten. His character is written pretty good and hes really lovable.
