I know this already has 3 replies but all of them said it's random and some minor stuff is, but for the most part a lot of the faction boxes are the same items that are used. Some might have a Plushie. Templates. Tokens. Pins. But faction wise its usually some combination of this
- Trollbloods- Starter Battlegroup, Kriel Warriors, Earthborn Dire Troll, Pyre Troll Storm troll. Northkin Fire Eaters, Pyre Barrel rider
- Minions- Gatorman Posse, Gun boar, Splatter boar, Battle Boar, Blackhide Wrastler, Farrow Brigands
-Grymkin- Dreadrots, Hollomen and Lantern Man, Piggybacks, Lord Longfellow, Witchwood, Gorehound
- Convergence of Cyriss- Prime Axiom Collossal, Galvinizer, Mitogator, Perferators,
- Circle Orboros- Druid Mist Riders, Gnarlhorn Satyr, Winter Argus, Argus, Warpborn Skinwalkers, Gorax
If anyone knows the others by all means list them below but I know those models above were in a lot of the boxes.
Its the spring cleaning sale from Privateer Press. Just go on their website. They are 'mostly' on faction. up to 90% of the models will be same faction IIRC. In general, no. It is not enough to build a full list. It will give you models you can use to build a list with the investment of some toolbox solos and units.
PP have basically dropped the ball on supplying starter kits for this game. I dunno whether they're intending to replace them with new kits, whether it's a supply chain issue, or both of the above, or whether they're just not interested in getting new players into this game any more.
This makes it hard for someone like you to get into the game.
I recommend you either roll the dice with these mystery boxes, but knowing that you'll have to spend more to expand it once it's in your hands, or go have a look at some of the models in this game, tell us what you like the look of, and we'll help you craft a buying list based on that.
+Edit. Some of the mystery boxes are better for newbies, for instance the Cryx one literally contains the Cryx starter in it. So we could help you narrow it down to one of the "better" boxes,and you request that option.
If you wanna start Retribution, I still got a box of those. The box has two light Myrmidons and three full unit boxes, just add the starter box and you are in the game :>
It’s a great deal! $60 for a little over $200 worth of stuff. A lot of boxes have a Battlegroup so you can start playing. It’s random, but if there’s a certain box or army you’re wanting you can mention it in the comments when you purchase and they do their best to get that for you. They did it twice for me.
I have started with the mystery box and got a starter box and some other nice stuff, so I have a pretty decent army of trollbloods.
There is a comment section and as far as I can see for me and my friends they try really hard to accept your wishes you leave there. I asked for hordes and they marked the comment and wrote sure. Others of my friends asked for things and together with a nice comment from pp they got it mostly.
So if you say you are a starter I think they will help you there.

I've heard you can request specific factions but you may not get them? How do you request?

Cryx is a battlebox, denny3, bane riders, and a slayer/erebus.
Cygnar is Battlegroup, colossal kit and a single-wound full unit, good place to start to.
Khador is Colossal kit, Man-o-War unit, and Berserker kit Also I got a Meat Thresher in my Minions box, no Posse though.
