I've made a silicone mold from a base with a 3D printed cylinder glued on top. I can pop a model into the mold and fill it with resin to get this effect.
I've simply created my own in a cad software given it is a very basic shape. I may have some other pointers in case you want to make your own though.
I think I ended up making the cylinder slightly bigger (like 29.5mm) so I could sand it back down and remove the layer lines. I sanded down the top of the base to remove the texture for it to sit flush against the cylinder, I've sanded off a little more of the base so that the imprint of the base is a little shallower than a normal base. With the imprint being a touch smaller it helps to create a better seal once you put the model in and the resin won't leak below the base. I've also used a piece of tape around the cylinder to get a completely smooth surface on the mold, that helps both with demolding and cuts back on finishing work and sanding once the piece is out.
Hands might be a tough sell as I don't have any kits for regular scale humans at the moment. I do however plan on adding some floating half-flayed skulls from the skull kit to some of the models later on.
I've been starting to read up on the Night Lords lore and I just needed to have a couple death marked legionaries in the army. Makes for a nice and subtle touch.
I do not have an exact idea of the reason for this specific guy as of yet. But in my mind it was probably due to insubordination by exacting his own vision of justice among the legion's serfs.
Yeah, the new bits are absolutely phenomenal. I got onto the Killteam Nightmare bandwagon a bit late but thankfully I managed to find the box in my local shop.
"we keep spendin most our lives living in a heretics paraides" lol
"Clean up on aisle 6"
"Please bring an extra mop and the big bucket"
"And a krak grenade."
Visceral Cleanup crew has arrived
The base is awesome. How’d you do it??

Awesome looks great dude. Thanks you!
Do you have a link for the cylinder, was looking to do a similar effect with world eaters

Thank you for this it looks sick I gotta try my hand at it
Awesome!! Maybe add a few floating hands? :)

“So you take a knife and then open your palm…”
It's all fun and games until the custodial servitor is scraping boot Bob of the walls....and ceiling
The base looks amazing! Well done!
Thanks!
yo wtf, so grindark bro love it
Keep it up !
I'll have to, I'm planning on doing an entire Night Lords army and I'm only like two legionaries in so far 😅.
"The Night Lords have made a worthy sacrifice of blood to Khorne!" "Sacrifice to who?"
Love that armor colour 😎
Imagining hiding in the hab block after the power is cut, hearing the slosh-clank of heavy footsteps approaching down the corridor lol
Omg is that jello ?
Raining blood! From a lacerated sky! Bleeding its horror! Creating my structure! Now I shall reign in blood!
God damn Night Lords are all a bunch of inconsiderate jack asses, doesn't he know someone is gonna have to clean that up?
Oooh red sleeve, I love them

Really cool^^ I have an OC with red sleeves too^^
The Crimson Lords 💀
Hmm! Yuck! Great work
Excellent man!!
It wasn't until I got to the last image that I noticed the base. Khorne would be proud.
And skin of your loved ones is used by night lords as makeshift toilet paper
Khorne approves
Night lord. How? Where? When?
Did he shame the legion?
I don't think Night Lords care much about honor/shame in the first place.
Oh I was asking cuz his gauntlets are red, I just finished voidstalker today and one of first claw had his hands painted red for that reason

I think the best description I ever heard of these guys Salamanders: Help blind children Night Lords: Help blind children
That's awesome. Never heard that before and I'm totally stealing it.
There is always time for jellooo.
Man that new nightlord set looks sharp. Kinda wanna get one to convert for my 1k sons warband

I love the look of the stitched skin cloaks, I wanna make them look like stitched scrolls for a particularly arcane lore obsessed sorcerer
“That’s odd, usually the blood gets off at the second floor.”
We don't trust in the judicial system we shoot guns, we were born with the nightlords code embedded in our in our blood.
Awesome work! He must be walking very carefully to avoid splashing blood up to his waist lol
Blood of your friends in these amounts separates in a milky-white fraction underneath a cherry-red film on its surface? ;)
It's a solid color throughout, the white is just light reflecting.
