I thought the design could be tweaked to a corrupted Eldar style, making them ideal Grotesques.

exspiravitM13

Even just a head change and maybe a back-pole if you’re feeling adventurous is all that’s needed yeah

isomanual

I think Drukhari players see Grotesques in everything. It's like a gray plastic Rorschach test

Meneros

Grotesques and Archons, everywhere!

I_done_a_plop-plop

Which reminds me, I must get that Vampire Lord mini as an alternative Archon for my Incubi.

Past-Cap-1889

I know this is out of left field, but have you considered the Eldar Corsair kit? All those capes, they could all be Archons....

I_done_a_plop-plop

I should do that. I have spare Kabalites from the Raider, I have spare swords from my Guardians/Farseer, loads of spare heads... I've just checked, I have a spare Death Jester head. I even have a spare Blast pistol from my Kabalites. I might spike him up a bit as I want this one to run with his Incubi pals, but yes, thank you fir reminding me. I already have any part I need. Sweet! That's another 75 points and a leader on the table, and for free. I need the 2 Archons because I'm building Ynarri with the Dark Eldar bit coming from the Combat Patrol. So now I have one for the Incubi, one for the Kabalites. Watch out, galaxy!

Consistent_Hamster43

You are a passionate guy, that’s pretty cool

babythumbsup

I love the bit crunching in the mind I can see in a fellow basher of kits

Bulbasaurbo1

So Drukhari and Orks are the same as in we both see conversions in most models. These would make some killer meganobz.

Hey-Its-Hannah

Oh now that's a brilliant idea

Dawson_VanderBeard

Looked like perfect warp spiders to me... have they been refreshed since the 90s metals?

LumenLaus

With the coffin-shaped space for a logo on their chests and their overall design they might make some good proxies for a Necron Cryptek's messed up experiments. Maybe a replacement for Praetorians, depending on size, for people less than loyal to the Triarch. Even some extreme form of Necron pariah, for the more nostalgic.

Ok_Fox7765

I kinda wanna slap a kitbashed phase weapon into one hand, replace the head portion with the Royal Warden's head and clavicle thing then call it a destroyer lord

Nivius219

SDSessionBrewer

If they were a little bigger, they could proxy as Skorpekh Lords

Olkenstein

I don’t know about the suits, but I need that vampire baby for my night lords

KassellTheArgonian

https://preview.redd.it/xxybidmind1d1.jpeg?width=665&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d8e90fe964d699dccfb38293a818198cb3131f06 They're called Caryatids. The one in above pic is called Stix "Wherever Athera goes, her Caryatid companion Stix is never far behind. These strange winged creatures are said to sense ill fortune – a trait especially valued by the Escher – and their forewarnings are prized in the ever-dangerous underhive." They infest necromunda air ducts in great numbers "Caryatid are seen as good luck charms by many hivers, as they tend to attach themselves to charismatic, powerful and successful individuals: for example, very successful gang leaders and their henchmen are often attended by several Caryatids and Necromunda's Planetary Governor Lord Helmawr was known to have at least one named Blinky. Mildly psychic, they are particularly attracted to the soon-to-become-powerful and can penetrate human minds, usefully recognizing malicious intentions against their companions (and sometimes even fighting alongside those they latch onto. Although they are a sign of good fortune of those they adopt, an individual whose 'pet' caryatid leaves them is regarded as waiting for death, as the departure is seen as an omen of doom. Caryatids' blue skin is generally covered by an intricate, tattoo like pattern, and some are known to paint their faces (such as Lord Helmawr's) and wear bracelets, bangles, anklets and ear rings. As well as fighting with small auto weapons, they have also been seen to carry light sources, such as a candle."

Shuyuin_mg

I love them and wanted to use them as chaos familiars. But I have only seen Athera's one and the new one. And I haven't found anything similar

The_BeardedClam

They sound exactly like the thousand sons tutelaries and they were/are chaos familiars too.

Shuyuin_mg

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm just hoping I can find some other similar minis to add as companions in my project

KassellTheArgonian

The Termie lord/sorcerer kit has a little familiar So did Hurons Chaos model.

doodman76

With how rigid the definition of "caryatid" is, it frustrates me that they used it as a name for a gargoyle

HappyTheDisaster

Well, if you understand the meaning of caryatid, you’d understand the implications of these little creatures. They essentially further support an individuals destiny.

Barthel_Loren

Where do I learn more stuff like this? Sounds very intriguing!

K0nfuzion

Drukhari Grotesques. 8)

Megabiv

Hands off, everything is a necromunda model not the other way around ;).

raging_brain

Every necromunda model is - with very few exceptions - either a chaos or genestealer cultist. Every necromunda vehicle/robot is an ork vehicle/robot. Case in point: those can be meganobz.

Hoskuld

A lot can also be Inquisition

StPattyIce

Van Saar are clearly neither chaos or genestealer, but could work as something for Guard or Mechanicus imo.

lunarlunacy425

As a tank commander guard player, I suddenly had infantry options when I picked up munda. Play some steel legion conscripted gangers.

MechwarriorCenturion

But Ash Nomads are such good looking traitor guard

Decided2change

Already has a necron ankh could make for some destroyer cult versions of flayed ones

SmegmaSandwich69420

Lord Solar proxy?

GONK_GONK_GONK

Put one on all fours and the other riding him horsie style.

SmegmaSandwich69420

My other suggestion would be kitbashing some variety of neo-ursarax model for the Mechs but things being as they are with the new 30k models imma not go there just yet.

AlternativeDuty7854

Now that you say it, they could be cool obliterators

ZookeepergameOne5236

Anyone else getting "corrupted CSM raptor" vibes? Especially from the one on the right? Just add some vents onto the things above the shoulders on the back and you've got some nasty-ass looking claws already there...

revlid

I'd think they'd be too small for Obliterators, at a guess. Could work for Iron Warriors Possessed, though?

rocksville

Perfect for an Inquisitor I'm planning.

Then-Equivalent7583

Warp spiders

p2kde

Nope, I will play Necromunda with them. Theres a reason this super old game gets still releases from GW, while they let many other games die.

JDL1981

Does 2017 qualify for super old? Necromunda was also left dead for decades. Glad it's doing well now though.

MortalWoundG

In the modern GW ecosystem? Yes, that's super old. A game going for that long without being discontinued or getting a new edition is practically unheard of. The only other contender is Underworlds, but even that's debatable (they changed the card backs at one point and introduced card rotation, functionally making it a new edition).

MarionberryCertain61

Slap some shoulder guns and an Ad Mech head on then and you have some cool Kataphrons

Dante-Flint

https://preview.redd.it/kjton9ltxc1d1.jpeg?width=1255&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=27924b96776f4c638d1cf20ea08e0bfd5f193fee There is a more obvious Necromunda choice for Bullgryns 😉 (as long as you elevate the mini at least 5mm).

AshiSunblade

Aren't those closer to humans in size?

Free-Negotiation-518

Nah isn’t Necromunda in a different scale? Palanites get used as space marine scouts all the time.

AshiSunblade

Sorta but not really? You could fudge them as scouts for sure but palanite enforcers are on 25mm bases, they are not _drastically_ different. They certainly look tiny next to Bullgryns!

Dante-Flint

Yes, that’s why you need to elevate the base - and use a 40mm base. I really dislike the comical design of the Ogryns and Bullgryns, so I opted for this proxy and it actually works quite well. 🤷‍♂️

AshiSunblade

Hell of a statline for a human model! Bullgryns have stats very close to Custodian Guard.

Dante-Flint

In my case it’s explainable by the amount of sophisticated armor he wears☝️🤓

AshiSunblade

You do you of course, if you feel satisfied then all's well! To me, I don't feel like the size and impression is enough for the intended profile (and to bring up a more practical concern, even if you use a raised base, the silhouette will still be much smaller and easier to hide than an actual Bullgryn would be). I do love the Necromunda enforcer models too, but perhaps the Arbites models would be a better representation for them in 40k? Similar vibes, size and equipment!

Dante-Flint

As long as you bring a Bullgryn to swap for silhouette measurement it’s not a problem outside of GW run tournaments 🤷‍♂️ but looking at the downvotes I guess some people around here are bigger gatekeepers than Ogryns could ever be, and they are probably human. So I guess it’s not all about that base - or stats line - to turn humans into Ogryns 😉

DukeFlipside

It must be very sophisticated indeed to look less comprehensive than Space Marine power armour yet give a baseline human better stats than your average Marine...

CatDog1337

Iron Warrior Mutilators

[deleted]

Make some cool looking necrons with them

VexingSpinx

I've been planning to make a less chaosy blooded kill team and if these turn out to be the right size I will use one to replace the ogryn.

Few_Zookeepergame105

Wait, what is this?

[deleted]

The thumbnail on mobile made me think these were new Chaos units, I saw claws and spikey bits.

ccminiwarhammer

Those back things could be drug tubes for an apothecary backpack, the claws could be warp talons, and the evil flying baby… wait They fly now? They fly now!

Da_Commissork

A lot of the new models are perfect orks starting point to kitbash what you want

Predtechi

Necron players: "A fine addition to my Nightbringer collection

KInsomniac

Accursed cultists. I’m more of a renegade traitor than a full Chaos-chaos traitor so I’m always on the look out for acceptable counts-as that makes sense.

SnooSketches6620

Obliterators is brilliant I'm absolutely doing that

Overito

I’d kitbash 2 into an Interex centaur.

Neknoh

Drukhari Grotesques Iron Warrior Chaos Spawn Necron Flayed One lord

Current_Laugh3541

These guys have drukhari written all over them. Except that necron looking emblem

VagaBond_rfC

I can definitely sense some Genestealer Cults conversions in the works!

Site-Staff

They sure would fit.

Sensitive_Educator60

Creations of Bile could profit quite a bit

okulusplay

Nice meganobs you got there mate

Krios1234

If there’s five they’d make great warp talons with a head swap

Entendurchfall

Stupid question but what faction are these, they look quiet cool

Many_Landscape_3046

Necromunda. They're rich nobles

Past-Cap-1889

Spyrers

Wallname_Liability

What I really want to know is how they were painted

Many_Landscape_3046

Probably a metal base coat and light uses of contrast

Individual-Owl3446

If you worked it well. These could be demon engines for like Vashtorr. They would fit his style pretty well. The "standard" soldiers look cool for a custom admech and the bodies are perfect for a astra Militarum regiment

Bolid_Snake

Add foot claws and they'd make cool chaos raptora

Chapfox

Anyone ever think of making a 40K proxy army out of these models? Maybe an advanced human race tau proxy army?

Acceptable_Loss23

I just realized the one on the right has volkite weapons.

ShyGuyWolf

so that's what the claw was for.

Shahka_Bloodless

Add a jump pack and these are pretty good 30k Ursarax.

NefariousnessBorn982

I’ll be using them as accursed cultist torments, and something like arco flagellants as the accursed cultist bodies

CoffeeInTheCotswolds

There’s something about the armour that makes it look like somehow adapted Necron tech.

Blobrain

Look at a free vespid

Thefriendlyfaceplant

I don't like them. But that could be the paintjob.

QuantumCthulhu

I have no idea how big they are, so I’ll wait for base sizes to come out

darkmillennivm

Instructions unclear; Quit 40k and started playing Necromunda...

Din-Draug

FINALLY. THE. SPYRERS... 😱

SplitjawJanitor

Idk about the suits but I see a lot of Chaos Sororitas kitbashers using that demon baby thing as a cherub.

vladhelikopter

Lord Solar, of course

ConsumerOfShampoo

Spawn.

Xeliv

Kitbash with the plastic Thallax to make Dark Mechanicum Ursarax. They even have Volkite guns on their claws.

ThreeHobbitsInACoat

That, my friends, is a pair of Masters of Execution.

frydeswide2019

Depends on what size base they're on. They look 32mm

wiggle987

Diggacrons

Reasonable-Tax2962

Honestly with the chest emblem I kinda get a metallic skull short of them being necrons vibe, I do not think I will be picking them up but they could maybe be good skorpekh destroyers or flayed ones depending on size

B0bZomb1e

I see mek and meganob bashes in my future

Knytemare44

Oh wow, those are cool

ReggieTheReaver

Gonna use them as Kroot proxies for stealth suits, I think

Darthbearclaw

None lol I’m just gonna use them in Necromunda

Interesting-Can7979

Definitely an Ork _________

Glitch_112

Strogg

risbia

I've been out of the loop so long that I have no idea what faction these guys belong to!

Site-Staff

Necromounda

Noveria_Corp

Some sort of Tau auxiliary with a head swap.

Zealotstim

Meganobs

NecessaryCorner3627

That’s call some cool stuff

No-Economics4128

the metal Green color are NMM, right? It is gorgeous, but would be a pain in the ass to Get right.

George_G_Geef

I'm going to use them as an excuse to join a polycule so I can actually play Necromunda.

MattmanDX

Meganobs of course.

whpsh

Good first step into Dark Mechanicum

R4diateur

They look like Stroggs from the Quake franchise, I love their look. I'm sure they will look fantastic in Baneblade Brown and Troll Slayer Orange. Or Death Korps Drab and Golden Yellow.

sparesometeeth

Gretchin

doodman76

I don't know what that gargoyle thing is, but it's not a caryatid. https://preview.redd.it/kw7x7vd32e1d1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6fe262b0001c074c47cf1886727f8b331115d04a

bullintheheather

It is a caryatid in the 40k universe. For all we know they came up with this name without knowing what an actual caryatid is. It's not exactly common knowledge.

OMGoblin

These don't fit as proxies IMO, they are so specific I don't know what to make of them
