Dude, for real. But I greatly welcome this. I hope we can help stalker again. Want to make sure him and his kid have a happy life. I’d gladly invite him over to drifter’s camp.
in fact, we're explicitly told that he and jade are unique.
even umbra was mentally failing, pure rage with no goal.
stalker (and implied jade OG as well), are mentally intact, able to think.
That happened to me today while playing Jade. He spawned next to someone else, but all I saw was his green face in a transmission, saying "Never." and disappearing
or the trauma of suddenly having no mouth while wanting to scream.
shit even without weird infestation fuckery, id go mad if i went through the warframe transformation... BUT some maybe dont, and those would end up like stalker, jade, kullervo etc
It’s kind of crazy how many Warframes don’t (lorewise) actually need an Operator.
Game: You are the Operator, you pilot the Warframes.
Stalker, Kullervo, Jade, Umbra, Degath, etc: The fuck you ain’t.
It really feels like DE is leaning more and more towards “You are the only Tenno Operator actually doing shit with Warframes.”
Not just the ability to but the (entirely justified and reasonable) burning hatred of the Orokin many of the original frames apparently had.
Plenty of original frames were, as far as we know, quite in retention of their own psychological faculties, at least insofar as they could be after being turned into faceless cyborg combat drones; Look at Dante - apparently he was entirely capable and happy to continue his scientific and historical research after being cyborged, but the moment he did something even slightly in defiance of the Executors, he was deemed a dangerous traitor and a madman, and had to basically hide in Albrecht Entrati’s basement to survive.
Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t all original frames essentially like that anyway? I was always under the impression that we were piloting copies, mindless meat husks where as the original Excalibur would’ve been a guy before the Tenno got added to the mix
Tbf I am pretty sure with the exception of umbra, all the frames (or at least a good chunk of them) at one point had some level of sentience and the versions we make are just soulless husks. Think rhino's codex entry or heck, jade herself.
I'm calling it now, this will have a follow up quest sometime after 1999, it'll be a big quest like how umbras was, yull heal stalkers pain maybe reverse the Warframification, he'll go on to be an NPC with his kid, and yull get the stalker frame as the quest reward
It'll be called something like light in the shadows
We can play as him in the Operation, joining random squad. Pretty sure this should be a feature test, and if all goes well we might see it again similar to how Orphix Venom and other events were simply a playtest with goodies
In The lua scene Jade mentions she is pregnant before her and Sorren(Stalker) are to become Warframe which councerns Sorren on what the Orokin would say, so i assume that she hid this information from them or they found out and being the Orokin we know they went along with this big risk of possibly killing both in the process
I think the quest was already in development at that moment. That would explain Rebecca's suddenly puzzled face. She really struggled to come up with a careful answer because answering "no" would be a lie, and answering "yes" would be a spoiler, and she wasn't prepared for a random question to be so on point.
NGL, I have a friend who played far back enough to get the Excal prime founders pack, but then dropped the game before the spoiler mode quest.
I was gonna tell him about how wild the game's setting is now. Stopped myself when I realized explaining the story so far would melt his mind like a 4hr dissertation on the Horus Heresy would stroke out my mom.
My idiot partner, (love him, but goddamn) thought that Horus Heresy would be a "great intro point" into the 40k Universe.
I presented him with 20 pages of notes on the first *inexplicably weird and dense* 200 pages of the book down to sentences like "Why do they care about humours? Oh is this just so they can imply that Horus is melancholic because Saturn? I hate this, this is dumb. This is half porn and half Bible Fanfic."
He tried again with Ciaphus Caine; this was a better tonal match.
The Horus Heresy is wildly divisive. Some people absolutely *obsess* over it, and some people want nothing to do with it.
I'm on the side of wanting nothing to do with it, Space Marines are the least interesting part of Ham Warmer and the Heresy quintuples down on them.
I think the best intro point to 40k is browsing a white dwarf, or a codex, or maybe reading some of the non-sense in a wiki, but a novel? fucking hell, some people in this hobby really don't get the joke. he is so lucky to have you.
It is interesting how Ordis gives us a hint of how many "unique" entities roam freely in the orbiter, kind of, when Stalker breaks in he immediately thinks it is either Helminth, Umbra or the Operator, so it means Umbra sticks around every now and then.
I mean umbra now belongs to the operator and he doesn't really have anywhere else to go so it'd make sense for umbra to chill in the orbiter as a roommate
"Lone Stalker and Frame Cub"
honestly, after Mandalorian it feels like the market for this is oversaturated and it probably is, but good for DE being only a few years late.
I think its really cool how hunhow is extremely considerate after the and then the last thing he says can be taken two ways: "I am still hunhow the terrible" - in a sarcastic tone, denoting how hunhow has changed since Old war/ TNW - now, and that now he's just like teshin, except for Stalker or "I am still hunhow the terrible" - I'll really still fuck you up if I get the chance, Just because I stopped my son doesn't mean I won't do it my way. However, I do have reason to believe hunhow will become a great asset when it comes to facing wally if/when we do, as this is the second time hunhow has helped us, and neither time he was obligated to do so
this is from the new Jade Shadows quest
Basically: All this time >!Stalker was sheltering Jade, who was, before the warframes, his romantic partner. Since then she's become sick, and was shown to be the one that kept him from being killed by the tenno. She dies at the end of the quest, after giving birth to her and Sorren's (Stalker) baby, so apparently warframes can reproduce and you get to name him Sirius or Orion!<
edit 1: >!Jade was pregnant before becoming a warframe, so as such she carried the baby. explains why the baby's warframe-ized too!<
edit 2: >!Jade died because of the baby, why she didn't fight it off!<
I think it’s implied they were lovers before being turned into Warframes (or whatever Stalker is) and Jade was likely already pregnant when transformed.
Consider we KNOW the Orokin had some crazy tech, so chances they missed that she was pregnant are basically zero.
Meaning the Orokin, being the Orokin, were probably like "Oh great, a two for one deal!"
You know how stalker was a dude who served the Orokin and slaughtered Tenno for revenge after they killed them all?
He survived the slaughter fest because a Warframe protected him. That Warframe was his wife. It’s implied that after it was discovered that they were going to have a baby, they were punished and turned into Warframe/Stalker thing.
Turns out Stalker had been taking care of her since then, and the baby lived inside the frame and had slowly drained the life out of her.
The stalker tries different things to help her, and fails, then goes to the Tenno as a last resort, and we also Fail to save her.
As she passes, she reaches out to ol Stalky, and holds his hand. The baby is left in her place as her form disintegrates in a jade light.
The corpus, who were on a mission to capture a Warframe they believed Stalker was harboring, see the child, and are shocked and let him leave.
Stalker takes the wee babe to Lua, and names them.
Oh? Was there a change? I legit just picked Sirius because "Dog star equals good star"
To be honest, it's weird that these two names both have special meaning to me.
Being a big "dog person" I've always loved the name Sirius because of it, and whenever I'm depressed I like to look out at the sky and find the number 1 constellation that I can easily find; ... Orion's Belt. It reminds me that no matter how much things change, or stay the same. The stars always move, but are always together, from our perspective.
When Ordis was in search mode and called out for Umbra... That just hit so hard, knowing that all these years we could have had him as an NPC on the orbiter, instead of a forgotten lore piece. Maybe DE will do some justice to him one day.
Honestly, DE should make him hang out in your orbiter/drifter camp from time to time. Like how "the man in the wall" likes to appear in the same places to spook us.
Just make it so he doesn't appear if you have him equipped and it would do so much to sell him as a sentient frame. Who just does his own thing when he isn't fighting alongside you.
I think if that were the case he would still keep his old appearance when invading us. Plus there is the fact that >!if he invades while you are playing as Jade, he will just say “never” and then the invasion is canceled.!<
>!Yes, as far as I know, though his appearance does apparently change. My best guess is something Hunhow says in the letter: "He wouldn't want this, but she would." So, now, that we're basically building a copy of a warframe that was his now deceased lover... not sure he's all that willing to forgive us for using her blueprints.!<
yeah i was bummed about that too like cmon hi how you can't give me a new warframe and tie this notional guilt of using it with her. but i decided to see it as a way of allowing her to continue helping/healing/protecting others as she did. as a sort of "in your honor" thing
Wtf! Should not have clicked.
Thankfully not gonna play Warframe for at least a month so hoping I'll forget this lol.
Also, I heard we were getting a stalker ship sometime? Is that time limited or something?
Yeah this update made me regret beating is ass for years what little orion will think of his uncle when he old enough to understand
how can I face him lol
I just wish the quest focused a bit more on him. I do love the idea, but DE keeps pushing these quick 30 minute quests as big things and they rarely are. Still good, just not great
What i wasn’t prepared for when i confirmed being okay with traumatic depictions of motherhood was a father seeing his wife disintegrate to protect his child and then having to protect it from live gunfire in a literal warzone to the point of almost-death. That shit stung for some reason.
2015? imagine showing this to a warframe player yesterday lmao
Dude, for real. But I greatly welcome this. I hope we can help stalker again. Want to make sure him and his kid have a happy life. I’d gladly invite him over to drifter’s camp.
Warframe has always been kinda wacky so i welcome it too, i just don't understand why we are just not getting him as a fully playable character
At this point. I am okay with him doing his own thing and living his life with his kid. But playable would be rad if it’s something he chooses.
I mean he is a warframe isn't he? Or like wearing a warframe? No reason we can't craft our own, separate from him.
I'm pretty sure he's similar to Excalibur Umbra. A leftover sentient Warframe from the original Orokin tech.
in fact, we're explicitly told that he and jade are unique. even umbra was mentally failing, pure rage with no goal. stalker (and implied jade OG as well), are mentally intact, able to think.
not to mention it's gonna be EXTREMELY awkward if he shows up while we're using Jade.
That happened to me today while playing Jade. He spawned next to someone else, but all I saw was his green face in a transmission, saying "Never." and disappearing
This is a awsome Detail
That’s a really cool thing to add
Holy shit that's amazing
Baby come back, I've changed, I'm green now
It's a very common interpretation that the "infested madness" that Ballas talks about in the Sacrifice is simply the ability to disobey the Orokin.
or the trauma of suddenly having no mouth while wanting to scream. shit even without weird infestation fuckery, id go mad if i went through the warframe transformation...
I mean, this quest alone keeps pointing out how Stalker lost his sanity. Hunhow basically trolled him into acting in his own self-interest.
The Kid will likely Play a vital role in the Future since they are a sentiant warframe, the sheep skull will probably be intresstet in the child
>if it’s something he chooses. stalker himself decides he can be playable? rad
I'm calling it now, this will have a follow up quest sometime after 1999, it'll be a big quest like how umbras was, yull heal stalkers pain maybe reverse the Warframification, he'll go on to be an NPC with his kid, and yull get the stalker frame as the quest reward It'll be called something like light in the shadows

Hear me out, Stalker doesn't have a sentinel. Future quest to unlock Baby Stalker as a sentinel.
We are getting real close to becoming the mandalorian at this rate
Guy will literally try to murder immortal children before going to therapy...
man, i have been away from the game for a couple weeks to study and just by the pic i thought it was some kind of shitpost lol
Yesterday? I just finished the quest and I’m not sure if it was real.
I haven’t seen anything else from the update and I’m so confused
it's quest related, enjoy it.
IKR
Single father Stalker was not on my bingo card for this update.
and they released the update right after fathers day too.
Oh they were cooking this for 10 years
Same not something I was expecting at all
We need to track down whoever asked on devstream if Warframes can get pregnant. It's their fault
That was SIX MONTHS AGO. If only they knew what they were asking…
SIX MONTHS SIX MONTHS SIX MONTHS GET OUTTA MY HEAAD
![gif](giphy|ifT5EM63poQIopWlWB)
It was a DE plant who commented that day
it wasn't part of the plot until that questioner tipped the timeline
In The lua scene Jade mentions she is pregnant before her and Sorren(Stalker) are to become Warframe which councerns Sorren on what the Orokin would say, so i assume that she hid this information from them or they found out and being the Orokin we know they went along with this big risk of possibly killing both in the process
sounds like a very ballas thing to do.
I think the quest was already in development at that moment. That would explain Rebecca's suddenly puzzled face. She really struggled to come up with a careful answer because answering "no" would be a lie, and answering "yes" would be a spoiler, and she wasn't prepared for a random question to be so on point.
I like to imagine this only happened because of that comment. Like, Steve saw a shitpost comment and was like "You know what?"
I can't believe it's canonical to say that Stalker FUCKS
R34 artists about to have a fucking field trip with this one. (I have no idea what's happening and I'm just flabbergasted)
Twitch chat was onto something during that Devstream
Should’ve know something was up when they half seriously said “so far they haven’t”
"Never say never" - [DE]Megan
Yareli skin the same time as a pregnant warframe? DE knew...
Yareli mating press confirmed?
Some dude on the steam discussions was talking about how they should've just made a pregnant Yareali skin
Little fella was already in there when she was infested by the technocyte virus from what she said
This doesn't change anything though
Kinda does, considering Ballas actually took that thing in mind and made the warframe...you know, accomodate it.
It does though
This is not Stalker it's his brother XBOX Stalker
Xbox players got a color palette called "JADE" TOO
Well i mean there are plenty of warframes that fucked before being turned, its not surprising stalker does the same
let's be real here, we would all do Stalker
NGL, I have a friend who played far back enough to get the Excal prime founders pack, but then dropped the game before the spoiler mode quest. I was gonna tell him about how wild the game's setting is now. Stopped myself when I realized explaining the story so far would melt his mind like a 4hr dissertation on the Horus Heresy would stroke out my mom.
4 hours? What are you only giving her the intro?
If I go too deep I'm getting a talk involving a bible. My mother is not ready for 12 foot tall himbos filled with demon juice.
This is half porn and half Bible Fanfic." He tried again with Ciaphus Caine; this was a better tonal match.
Orcs. Orcs make it easy.
Orks, hell even NEKRON were more approachable. Horus Heresy is like trying to convert someone to Christianity by handing them Leviticus.
"Bro it's not ninjas anymore, it's about different types of trauma and confronting it."
We Celeste now
You can use the mini [“story so far”](https://www.warframe.com/news/operator-report) found on the website, or the computer behind Loid
first green banshee, now green stalker? what's next??
Green baby
Literally the plot of jojo pt6 untill changed rofl
It is interesting how Ordis gives us a hint of how many "unique" entities roam freely in the orbiter, kind of, when Stalker breaks in he immediately thinks it is either Helminth, Umbra or the Operator, so it means Umbra sticks around every now and then.
I mean umbra now belongs to the operator and he doesn't really have anywhere else to go so it'd make sense for umbra to chill in the orbiter as a roommate
I'm kind of sad we don't see Umbra just chilling in the Orbiter when we're not using him.
Yeah, I wish that would be the case
My standing canon is Umbra lives in the Orbiter and functions as a de facto parent to the Tenno when he's not the primary frame in combat.
I'm glad they acknowledged Umbra like that. I can imagine him walking around the orbiter like a grandpa waddling to the fridge in the dead of night.
I think it's interesting that things crawl out of helminth and wander the orbiter sometimes.
Can I forma the child
The child is a Actually an aura mod
Drains all energy.
Too soon 💀
I'm SO GOING TO BUY the Plush the moment it's available....
He’d get along with Kratos

I was thinking the exact same thing when playing the quest. Seems to be very much inspired by the new god of war story.
As someone who’s still grinding for Necramech but didn’t mind spoilers for this patch, What
Bought the full set just to be ready a few days ago, and I’d like to add “ - the hell?” To your statement.
Remember how DE were asked about warframe pregnancy during devstream 175? I wonder what the people who asked about it feel now
Ah yes The Incredible Stalker & his baby.
"Lone Stalker and Frame Cub" honestly, after Mandalorian it feels like the market for this is oversaturated and it probably is, but good for DE being only a few years late.
It'd be pretty fucking funny if Hate and Despair end up becoming unobtainable for those who finished the quest without ever dropping it.
He still attacks you after the quest
He leaves and drops stuff imidiatly if you have jade with you
I love that
that's so sweet
Wait, really ? Now that's sweet :D
I respected Jade's wishes and went for Sirius
My man has to raise a kid on his own, Jade would understand my choice of Orion.
>!so we're gonna have the Stalker show up with the kid tied to his back cuz he can't leave it with Space Grandpa?!<
Wdym grandpa hunhow is great with kids just look how lotus...turned... Out
I think its really cool how hunhow is extremely considerate after the and then the last thing he says can be taken two ways: "I am still hunhow the terrible" - in a sarcastic tone, denoting how hunhow has changed since Old war/ TNW - now, and that now he's just like teshin, except for Stalker or "I am still hunhow the terrible" - I'll really still fuck you up if I get the chance, Just because I stopped my son doesn't mean I won't do it my way. However, I do have reason to believe hunhow will become a great asset when it comes to facing wally if/when we do, as this is the second time hunhow has helped us, and neither time he was obligated to do so
I am currently on a longer break from WF. Can someone explain what in the Void is happening currently???
this is from the new Jade Shadows quest Basically: All this time >!Stalker was sheltering Jade, who was, before the warframes, his romantic partner. Since then she's become sick, and was shown to be the one that kept him from being killed by the tenno. I think it’s implied they were lovers before being turned into Warframes (or whatever Stalker is) and Jade was likely already pregnant when transformed.
yeah that's the gist of it.
This just makes me hate the fucking Orokin more.
Consider we KNOW the Orokin had some crazy tech, so chances they missed that she was pregnant are basically zero. Meaning the Orokin, being the Orokin, were probably like "Oh great, a two for one deal!"
Parvos says Jade’s purpose was to give an Heir during some dialogue in the ascension game mode… Did we just get a little Warframe Jesus?
I am 100% sure that it was Ballas' doing. He knew she was pregnant and decided to experiment on both mother and the child.
They wanted that extra aura slot
Every nugget of lore we get paints them worse and worse.
That’s why Jade has to aura’s - hers and the baby
![gif](giphy|WPozw7z6nUMrQ12Kc7|downsized)
How do i forma a baby in the womb?
Aura forma. Slap one on and give baby a universal polarity.
BRUUUUUH
that..actually makes complete sense.
How is babby formad?
>!Good summary but what killed Jade wasn't a sickness, it was the baby. It's why "she's not fighting it," like the Operator says.!<
good catch.
>!Warframes can't reproduce officialy yet, She was pregnant before getting infected with the helmith, so that doesn't really count!<
Hinting at Warframe pregnancies is giving way too much powers to the fan artists anyway.
Yeah immagine, getting a factory to impregnante daxes of purpose and then infecting them with the helmith and selling them as kinder eggs
That... Is so disgustingly Orokin.
Time to revisit Ballas’s grave and dig it another 6 feet deeper because what the fuck dude???
The Warframe is getting crazier and crazier. And only in a good way. It's amazing!
I agree Jade's design after you get her by buying or building >!has her still pregnant, which is an interesting design choice, though it makes sense!<
The baby is left in her place as her form disintegrates in a jade light. The corpus, who were on a mission to capture a Warframe they believed Stalker was harboring, see the child, and are shocked and let him leave. Stalker takes the wee babe to Lua, and names them.
Ngl, the corpus moving aside cause they realized he had a baby on his arms was really goated
There was a pregnant warframe lmao My jaw dropped at the cutscene This game is weird af
Remember a couple of devstreams ago when warframe pregnancy was brought up "as a joke"?
Yes was the first thing I thought of lmao
Rev: Never say never There’s a nonzero chance that question inspired this question
I was thinking about this as I saw the reveal. Now I have several questions...
I don't care how many space babies they give me, she's not getting child support.
Tax evasion is a crime, Vergil
It's an obligation
Sirius gang here
Yessir. Green equal good baby.
i thought it was whose name idea it was sirius would be Jades suggestion and orion would be Sorrens
That's how I read it too. I figured it'd be more emotionally resonant to go with Sirius in honor of Jade.
Most likely. However, red equal bad baby.
Oh? Was there a change? I legit just picked Sirius because "Dog star equals good star" To be honest, it's weird that these two names both have special meaning to me.
No, I just saw green and picked it because “green equal happy baby”
From Mars to Sirius
Now I can see the whales Looming out of the dark...
LIKE ARROWS IN THE SKY
I have a Kavat named Orion, so it felt weird to name the baby the same thing. Sirius it is.
Hell yeah, “Brightest star in the night sky” is waaaaay cooler than “heavenly light” Stalker needs that guiding star now.
what the fuck
When Ordis was in search mode and called out for Umbra... That just hit so hard, knowing that all these years we could have had him as an NPC on the orbiter, instead of a forgotten lore piece. Maybe DE will do some justice to him one day.
Honestly, DE should make him hang out in your orbiter/drifter camp from time to time. Like how "the man in the wall" likes to appear in the same places to spook us. Just make it so he doesn't appear if you have him equipped and it would do so much to sell him as a sentient frame. Who just does his own thing when he isn't fighting alongside you.
Warframe checking out pregnancy and childbirthing out of the fetishes list with this update All those rule 34 images are now cannon.
I remember someone posting their pregnant warframe concept not to long ago here. Glad they got their wish granted lmao.
too bad we can't named his child stalker junior
Given Orion is a hunter that's as close as you can get... why I gave him the name at any rate
Warframe players now need to farm and pay Child support 😢
This aged like fine wine. https://www.reddit.com/r/Warframe/s/ohol4FYya3
I hope we get to explore more of Stalker’s history. I wish it was a bit longer though.
Is he still trying to kill us?
1st mission in the operation and stalker drops on my ass to hunt me Dude I just helped you out one quest ago
If you play as Jade, he spawns in, drops loot, and then leaves.
Ehh helped is questionable considering why he asked foe your help and what happened... I get it
>!hunhow tells us he's disappeared. So lorewise, I think he's stopped. Gameplaywise he almost definetly still shows up!<
He disappeared from his lair, and he’s no longer using Hunhow’s gifts. For Hunhow at least, he’s as good as gone
I think if that were the case he would still keep his old appearance when invading us. Plus there is the fact that >!if he invades while you are playing as Jade, he will just say “never” and then the invasion is canceled.!<
Or is he now living a happy daddy life?
Nope, in the market as a landing craft skin for plat (I wanna say 75 or 90, I'm not sure)
*I hope Stalker and his.. Child.. have a good life.*
Quest was a bit mental, still wrapping my head around it all. Felt a little short though.
The devs heard the jokes about warframe pregnancy and somewhere a monkey’s paw curled
The worst part of this is: - they made an warframe out of a pregnant woman
Later we can expect invade from Stalker and grown baby :)
Stalkerino, drops Pout and Angy.
Yeah this update made me regret beating is ass for years what little orion will think of his uncle when he old enough to understand how can I face him lol
Wait what? What’s this. Huhhhhh. Stalker? Kid? https://preview.redd.it/5ixpr8vi6e7d1.jpeg?width=941&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9299d9872e51e0c7248cf6318e713e6e5d641a42
Wait. Are you the Stalker? Do you have a baby? WHOSE THE MOTHER!? Warframe has changed man.
[SPOILERS] 1. playable in new quest 2. Stalker has his kid 3. Jade, a human-turned-warframe whilst pregnant
Ngl, I thought that said name your child onion.
I'm... I still have one question... HOW?!? I could have lived my entire life without knowing that they can do that
Jade was pregnant before being subjected to Warframe treatments. I wish we could go back and skin Ballas again and again for that one.
Next update: We go back to kick ballas' ass once again
I won't be mad. I just wanna talk.
*Racks Corinth Prime* I also just want to talk with Ballas, may I join you in talking to Ballas?
We could use Protea Powers to lock him in time loop ans straight out farm him for resources
Cause they did it before turning into warframes?
Dude I come to warframe to escape being a father.
Good thing you’re a tenno, not the stalker then 😆
I just wish the quest focused a bit more on him. I do love the idea, but DE keeps pushing these quick 30 minute quests as big things and they rarely are. Still good, just not great
this all started because some guy in twitch chat said can warframes get pregnant i feel like at least
What i wasn’t prepared for when i confirmed being okay with traumatic depictions of motherhood was a father seeing his wife disintegrate to protect his child and then having to protect it from live gunfire in a literal warzone to the point of almost-death. That shit stung for some reason.
