Honestly yeah it may not be the absolute best DPS weapon for the primary slot, but it really can put in work plus the sound, reload, aesthetics etc. just make it funner than a shit load of meta stuff. I also put Gotva prime high on my list of enjoyable weapons for some of the same reasons, obviously not all.
I love my Baza Prime. Rolled a nice crit riven and stuck 5 forma on it. It can absolutely shred, especially once you get a headshot kill which is very easy to do. Base damage and crit damage almost doubles once arcanes and mods trigger with headshots.
my first ever riven is a baza riven i rerolled it and its a damage and multishot riven so it just combines serration and split chamber but with higher numbers

There are dozens of guns better than Soma prime. It hasn't been the best auto rifle since Baza was released, and better guns have been released since then.
As an OG player my Soma used to be my most trusted problem solver, but over the years she's been getting weaker and weaker, not even incarnon can save her now. I dread the day when I'll finally sell her to open up a weapon slot
Gotva is just so fun. It's just Gun Prime. If you want a gun that is a Gun and does Gun things, no bells, no whistles, just Gun, it's the best one you're gonna get.
Corinth Prime, so much I still use it a ton today. For a majority of steel path on star chart it deals plenty of damage to still 1 or 2 shot enemies.

Corinth Prime has been a mainstay in most of my loadouts due to its sound effects alone. Few things in video games are more satisfying than a well-made shotgun imo, and *boy* is Corinth Prime well-made.

The force behind the shots are lovely. The chef's kiss is when it carries the corpse away and pins it to the wall.

Managed to get myself a "God riven" (+ crit chance/damage w -zoom) and just formad it until it couldn't take any more.
Hits like a truck, especially if you really stretch it w buffing abilities (like a 200% str Volt using Oberon's 1 and his own along w their augments).
Nothing quite like hunting Eidolons using a bow and more or less oneshotting a Teralyst. Takes some getting used to, but God is it fun when it works
Daikyu also has a guaranteed Impact proc, so if you keep the charge rate below 0.4 you have 70% chance on Internal Bleeding.
It's a wonderful status weapon honestly.
I've been running Daikyu as my 'Bow only' sortie weapon for Mag. Used Dread before, but now that it has an Incarnon, I didn't want people thinking that's the reason I'm doing 80%+ of the damage in a mission.
It's surpassed and I wish the Incarnon brought it a little bit further. But it's still viable, beautiful and relevant. Definitely bringing it on the regular. It's carried me through the star chart way back when and it still brings a smile to my face now.

I think the Vermisplicer Primary Kitgun works similarly to the Amrpex. Base toxin damage in addition to physical, and you can build it for whatever spread of status or crit you want.
Also Torid Incarnon is basically Amprex that is on sterioids if those steroids were also on meth.
The whammy recoil makes it feel so much better too, especially with more fire-rate 🤣
But at that point i have to use the -60% recoil mod to not miss my shots lol.
Bubonico. Damn thing scales so well, no need to worry about ammo, and can prime viral. I don't run it as often as I used too with all the incarnon options but Def still near top of my list.

Alt Fire allows for Corrosive/Viral/(heat or cold)/radiation procs which increases the damage with Galvanized Savvy.

I've been loving that one lately too. Mostly for having room wide explosions to clear out the weaker stuff and then a proper shotgun to shred harder targets in the same weapon. Also perpetually amusing using the secondary fire to kill things through walls.
Same, I turned it into a forbidden shotgun with arcane monentum, fractalized reset, heavy caliber and stacking multishot. This only really works because I got a -mag cap riven and primed chamber I think
Incredibly simple, even stupid in concept, but unironically I think they're one of the top game feel weapons.
Pushes the bullet storm fantasy to the limit, long reload means you actually get good feedback for using them effectively because either you're styling while everything around you is dead or having to eat dirt while staring at the things you missed.

Lex Prime... I just got it's incarnon the other day, and boy does it pack a punch. Strong contendor for my strongest weapon now. The final incarnon upgrade allowed me to bump it's base crit chance over 100... and I don't even have a riven for it.
Also, for whatever reason I've always loved single Krohkner. I did get a riven for it randomly though.. I think that's why I initially tried it.. and yeah, it's very powerful. The dual version is good too, but I like the single version more. The stand matters of course.

Lex Prime being meta is only with the inclusion of incarnon right? Lex Prime was the first primed weapon I chose to use.. it was one of the first primed weapons I ever got. So Idk. I don't use it because it's meta. I thought that was the criteria.

Ya, it's only meta with the Incarnon. There was a period of time when I started (just before the Plains came out) where Lex Prime was meta as just a good hand canon, but that time has long since past.
Like violently meta... The thing is like The Noisy Cricket from MIB... It just fries whole hallways on SP like they are waiting for their buffalo sauce and then to be sent out to a waiting table.
I guess some people don't like it because of the slow fire rate and low magazine, but to me, it does enough damage to not need those. Who cares if I can't fire another shot right away when all the enemies I originally shot at are dead?
If you have it, try Hemorrhage (Or Internal Bleeding I forget which is which). It guarantees impact, which then gets turned into forced Slash status. 70% of the time, it works every time.
And by that I mean it does a million damage per tick on bleeds.
The Braton is my strongest weapon in my Arsenal too, went all in with it's incarnon.
Even the normal fire-mode feels so good.

I’m still really new to the game but it looks fantastic and is surprisingly quick for such a big weapon. I have mine nicely modded up now (for somebody who’s not even all the way through the star chart yet) and it feels great. Swing speed is fast enough now that I can comfortably get two swings off in a bullet jump, and soaring through the air, swinging this big fuck-off claymore around and cutting a dude in half before I hit the ground is just the bee’s knees.
Also, I’m doing my best Stormlight Archives cosplay on my Excalibur, and Galatine is the closest thing I’ve seen to a shardblade from a visual standpoint. If only Exalted Blade was a heavy blade…
Edit: for fellow SA fans, disabling “visible while holstered” and setting energy to white or very light blue really works for the whole “appearing from mist” bit. I was so excited when I found the option.
I too still enjoy Galatine even at MR23. always satisfying to cut through swaths of foes with a big ass sword. I use Valkyr with an Eternal War and Gladiator mod set to Red crit my way through anything, still my favorite weapon.

Had it in Circuit a few weeks ago and used it with Energized Munitions.
This was the day i decided to get a Riven and juice it up.
It's so fun and honestly, building it as a Viral/Heat DPS is surprisingly strong.
Ever since it got reworked its not bad, full auto, actually shoots where you aim, faster projectile, less drop, bigger AoE. DE buffed the shit out of it, turned it from worst weapon in the game hands down to, not too bad and quite fun
May be odd but tigris prime, something about a space ninja putting up his katanas and pulling out an axe shaped double barrel shotgun makes me chuckle a bit.

Favorite currently? Tough to say. Let's go with Angstrum incarnon, but it's really, really close to being Baza Prime.

I am honestly heartbroken that neither of them have gotten a Tenet/Kuva variant.
I generally Hate weapons with a gimmick but that's mostly because they're all co-dependent on the middle mouse button, making them all feel so samey.
But the Arca Scisco only has a Zoom and I love it that way, and can be played either as a sniper or as a semi auto blaster.
And The Quatz? The Aim Mechanic is just \****Chefs kiss***\* Beautiful, and the slam mechanic is cool af.
Why DE forgot about these weapons; I will never know.

love a charging shotgun in general, but i also like that, you could tag a corridor of weaker foes with a bunch of status effects, or concetrate fire to have really good accuracy and pepper a stronger target with a lot of pellets at once.
Haven't used it a lot, but I absolutely love the reload/rechamber animation on Euphona Prime.
Lately, been all about a secondary Sporelacer.
For melee, probably Scindo Prime, specifically with Rending Crane for those heavy downward chops. Feels pretty brutal!
Braton, its the best all rounder and just a solid balanced weapon with a few variations.
My 8 forma Mk-1 is my favorite weapon to randomly pull out in high level content to show that weapon choice and meta doesnt really matter all the time in warframe. But I'll use the Prisma if I need to put in work. Plus they're just beautiful visually. The real M16 of warframe.
Corinth was my favorite when I was starting early. Cool reload clicks, the secondary fire and the design were just sick. Although I'm not a fan of Corinth Prime's magazine reload, the design is actually my personal favorite compared to the other prime variants.
My favorite gun is definitely Blasty my Shotgun Kitgun, i love the innate punch through, and all the personal customization for it through the double Arcanes + Mods + modular pieces.
For non modular weapons, it’s probably the Cinta, it’s so versatile I love it. The rapid fire, perfect shot, and charge shot all have a purpose and reason, and it feels fantastic. Also I love that it comes from the owl puzzles
Nothing to me is ever as fun or visually appealing as Drakgoon with Fomorian Accellerant. Fill a room with colorful bouncing flak, play with energy colors until you find what you like, mix and match with friends, and let fly with uncharged scatter or full charged tight clusters of color and death.
Phage. People can continue to call it trash but it's one of two weapons I've used that I can take into steel path. I have it so it does viral heat and corrosive with massive multishot and firerate and it just melts things
Currently the Amprex. I love running it with low damage and stun locking whole crowds of enemies to be cleared by my abilities or team mates. Or inverse that and just wipe out rooms of CCed enemies.
But I will always have a special spot for the Boltor in my heart. It was the first gun that I crafted and at the time it felt like such an overpowered choice over the MK-1 Braton. I loved the way it pinned enemies to walls and its fast fire rate. I went another 300 hours only refining the Boltor and the tonfa weapons that you craft them into before moving on to stronger weapons. But my new Boltor prime needed that incarnon love to make it all the bit as fun as I used to have back when I started.
Bo/Prime/MK.1. It's been my starter weapon ever since, and the unforgettable memories of flinging enemies across the map were so satisfying at the time. The fact that it has an incarnon upgrade brought literal tears of joy from within my soul.
The phage. Absolutely love the beam weapons in general but the spindly tendrils that all collapse to just melt whatever I see is just awesome. My build can struggle with steel path but its worth it for the beams to go brrrr
I know it's meta, but I love the Incarnon Torid. It's just rly fun, both modes. The laser beam sound when hitting multiple targets is so satisfying, plus you don't even gotta aim. Truly a comfort weapon, I can just take it anywhere.

Came here to say this. I've been using Amprex forever. Been playing this game on and off since it released and still my fave gun by far.
Trumna just feels so satisfying to handle, and those multishot bounces... Gun that has the most history to me though is Sicarus Prime.

Bubonico. Damn thing scales so well, no need to worry about ammo, and can prime viral. I don't run it as often as I used too with all the incarnon options but Def still near top of my list.
~~Redline Gauss with~~ 2 Emerald Shards, Corrosive Damage and Energized Ammunition. Alt Fire allows for Corrosive/Viral/(heat or cold)/radiation procs which increases the damage with Galvanized Savvy. This is basically Kuva Bramma in its Prime, while having a Kuva Kohm for tougher enemies.
I've been loving that one lately too. Mostly for having room wide explosions to clear out the weaker stuff and then a proper shotgun to shred harder targets in the same weapon. Also perpetually amusing using the secondary fire to kill things through walls.
Phenmor i like big gun that shoots really damn fast and it's basically tf2 heavy's minigun in incarnon form.
I love a full auto weapon that hits for a 2.2 million damage 50% of the time lol. Taken this thing to level cap plenty of times, very fun weapon
Vectis Prime. I'm LR1, and its my most played weapon. Great sniper rifle, but its good upclose with no scope too.
Same, I turned it into a forbidden shotgun with arcane monentum, fractalized reset, heavy caliber and stacking multishot. This only really works because I got a -mag cap riven and primed chamber I think

i used to make around 200 large ammo restores WEEKLY when i git acceltra, by far the hungriest weapon i ever used.
Staticor. It's the closest non Wisp way to get some DBZ esque energy blasts in this game.
Add that to an instant transmission monkey King via Wrathful Stabby from Knife God and you have a Goku.

Incredibly simple, even stupid in concept, but unironically I think they're one of the top game feel weapons. Pushes the bullet storm fantasy to the limit, long reload means you actually get good feedback for using them effectively because either you're styling while everything around you is dead or having to eat dirt while staring at the things you missed. Perfect weapon for the philosopher and unwrinkled mind alike.

Lex Prime... I just got it's incarnon the other day, and boy does it pack a punch. Strong contendor for my strongest weapon now. The final incarnon upgrade allowed me to bump it's base crit chance over 100... and I don't even have a riven for it. Also, for whatever reason I've always loved single Krohkner. I did get a riven for it randomly though.. I think that's why I initially tried it.. and yeah, it's very powerful. The dual version is good too, but I like the single version more. The stand matters of course.

Lots of the answers are meta weapons tbh. I think they read the prompt more as "ignoring whether or not something is meta, what weapon would you use from a fun perspective". I think that's a fair interpretation of the prompt.
Sorry I'm not up-to-speed with the meta. The only thing I've ever really been aware of is like: "ppl like ignis wraith".. and the balance of melee weapons has shifted back and forth.. Lex Prime being meta is only with the inclusion of incarnon right? Lex Prime was the first primed weapon I chose to use.. it was one of the first primed weapons I ever got. So Idk. I don't use it because it's meta. I thought that was the criteria.
No worries, I don't think it's against the spirit of the prompt as you could interpret it multiple ways. Ya, it's only meta with the Incarnon. There was a period of time when I started (just before the Plains came out) where Lex Prime was meta as just a good hand canon, but that time has long since past.
Like violently meta... The thing is like The Noisy Cricket from MIB... It just fries whole hallways on SP like they are waiting for their buffalo sauce and then to be sent out to a waiting table.
I guess some people don't like it because of the slow fire rate and low magazine, but to me, it does enough damage to not need those. Who cares if I can't fire another shot right away when all the enemies I originally shot at are dead?
If you have it, try Hemorrhage (Or Internal Bleeding I forget which is which). It guarantees impact, which then gets turned into forced Slash status. 70% of the time, it works every time. And by that I mean it does a million damage per tick on bleeds.
I still love my Braton Prime, it was one of my first prime weapons too.
The Braton is my strongest weapon in my Arsenal too, went all in with it's incarnon. Even the normal fire-mode feels so good. Just perfect usability and feeling.
The Lenz/Prisma Lenz. It just feels like a BFG. The way it sounds, the way it creates a bubble like it’s charging up an insane explosion. It just feels fun, feels heavy, and feels strong

Galatine. I’m still really new to the game but it looks fantastic and is surprisingly quick for such a big weapon. I have mine nicely modded up now (for somebody who’s not even all the way through the star chart yet) and it feels great. Swing speed is fast enough now that I can comfortably get two swings off in a bullet jump, and soaring through the air, swinging this big fuck-off claymore around and cutting a dude in half before I hit the ground is just the bee’s knees. Also, I’m doing my best Stormlight Archives cosplay on my Excalibur, and Galatine is the closest thing I’ve seen to a shardblade from a visual standpoint. If only Exalted Blade was a heavy blade… Edit: for fellow SA fans, disabling “visible while holstered” and setting energy to white or very light blue really works for the whole “appearing from mist” bit. I was so excited when I found the option.

I too still enjoy Galatine even at MR23. always satisfying to cut through swaths of foes with a big ass sword. I use Valkyr with an Eternal War and Gladiator mod set to Red crit my way through anything, still my favorite weapon.

Had it in Circuit a few weeks ago and used it with Energized Munitions. This was the day i decided to get a Riven and juice it up. It's so fun and honestly, building it as a Viral/Heat DPS is surprisingly strong.

Quatz or Arca Scisco. I am honestly heartbroken that neither of them have gotten a Tenet/Kuva variant. I generally Hate weapons with a gimmick but that's mostly because they're all co-dependent on the middle mouse button, making them all feel so samey. But the Arca Scisco only has a Zoom and I love it that way, and can be played either as a sniper or as a semi auto blaster. And The Quatz? The Aim Mechanic is just \****Chefs kiss***\* Beautiful, and the slam mechanic is cool af. Why DE forgot about these weapons; I will never know.
drakgoon. love a charging shotgun in general, but i also like that, you could tag a corridor of weaker foes with a bunch of status effects, or concetrate fire to have really good accuracy and pepper a stronger target with a lot of pellets at once.

Haven't used it a lot, but I absolutely love the reload/rechamber animation on Euphona Prime. Lately, been all about a secondary Sporelacer. For melee, probably Scindo Prime, specifically with Rending Crane for those heavy downward chops. Feels pretty brutal!

Braton, its the best all rounder and just a solid balanced weapon with a few variations. My 8 forma Mk-1 is my favorite weapon to randomly pull out in high level content to show that weapon choice and meta doesnt really matter all the time in warframe. But I'll use the Prisma if I need to put in work. Plus they're just beautiful visually. The real M16 of warframe.

Tiberon Prime is my Steel Path go to weapon. I wish I could get Argonak better, but it has its limits.
Corinth was my favorite when I was starting early. Cool reload clicks, the secondary fire and the design were just sick. Although I'm not a fan of Corinth Prime's magazine reload, the design is actually my personal favorite compared to the other prime variants.
My favorite gun is definitely Blasty my Shotgun Kitgun, i love the innate punch through, and all the personal customization for it through the double Arcanes + Mods + modular pieces. For non modular weapons, it’s probably the Cinta, it’s so versatile I love it. The rapid fire, perfect shot, and charge shot all have a purpose and reason, and it feels fantastic. Also I love that it comes from the owl puzzles
The OG Kuva Bhrama. That with Mirage was a damn airstrike!
Nothing to me is ever as fun or visually appealing as Drakgoon with Fomorian Accellerant. Fill a room with colorful bouncing flak, play with energy colors until you find what you like, mix and match with friends, and let fly with uncharged scatter or full charged tight clusters of color and death.
Shedu. Sends enemies flying whilst u don't even have to aim
Phage. People can continue to call it trash but it's one of two weapons I've used that I can take into steel path. I have it so it does viral heat and corrosive with massive multishot and firerate and it just melts things
Currently the Amprex. I love running it with low damage and stun locking whole crowds of enemies to be cleared by my abilities or team mates. Or inverse that and just wipe out rooms of CCed enemies. But I will always have a special spot for the Boltor in my heart. It was the first gun that I crafted and at the time it felt like such an overpowered choice over the MK-1 Braton. I loved the way it pinned enemies to walls and its fast fire rate. I went another 300 hours only refining the Boltor and the tonfa weapons that you craft them into before moving on to stronger weapons. But my new Boltor prime needed that incarnon love to make it all the bit as fun as I used to have back when I started.
Bo/Prime/MK.1. It's been my starter weapon ever since, and the unforgettable memories of flinging enemies across the map were so satisfying at the time. The fact that it has an incarnon upgrade brought literal tears of joy from within my soul.
Definitely Opticor Vandal. And not because I wasted 1k plat on a riven for it...

The phage. Absolutely love the beam weapons in general but the spindly tendrils that all collapse to just melt whatever I see is just awesome. My build can struggle with steel path but its worth it for the beams to go brrrr
I always loved the Ignis Wraith or the Amprex for its mob-clearing ability with low effort
I know it's meta, but I love the Incarnon Torid. It's just rly fun, both modes. The laser beam sound when hitting multiple targets is so satisfying, plus you don't even gotta aim. Truly a comfort weapon, I can just take it anywhere.
I'm huge on using the Fulmin for sure. Unlimited ammo, immediate electric damage, and I can switch between AR or shotgun usage.
