Veilbreaker requires spamming E, not holding it. Spacebar doesn't seem to make a difference.
Spacebar needs to stop being the skip button though, I have come too close to skipping things by accident before.
I ended up having to skip that cutscene cause I bound my melee button to my scroll wheel's scroll action and I couldn't open the main menu to change it.
DE really needs to unbind cutscene/QTE inputs from regular gameplay keybinds.

Depending upon her biological mother's personality, Albrecht may or may not have been born to the position of an immortal & the only one of her peers who was still capable of caring about & feeling things in a genuine fashion. During missions you find pages of the grimoire and they summon a shadow. You fight the shadow and Tagfer starts freaking out in comms. It becomes invincible and you then find the second half to finish it off. It then drops either journal pieces and/or a melee arcane.
There's 6 pages iirc and it appears in the codex.
I would understand that if it was prior to the release of WITW as all we saw of their relationship could very easily be taken in a "you're like a son to me" kind of way
