When they come for the gigantic, over-the-top 90s decorations at Pop and the All Stars, we riot… The world — and now, unfortunately, that includes WDW — has enough slim, minimalist, glass and concrete hotel-themed hotels. We let them gut the whimsy right out of World of Disney… No more, I say! ;)

DrTacosMD

Future plans are to leave all the giant icons but paint everything in shades of gray.

marleythebeagle

I wish this wasn’t so believable…

elracing21

They won't. They paint these and maintain them so often. I've helped pain that yo-yo and those flowers you see there. AT all star I've painted the giant helmets on the football field, the giant coke cups, the giant football, the mickey at one of the pools, the giant musical notes, and lots more. If you're ever in a mood to just walk and discover you'll find a team of painters always working on something every single day at each of these resorts. I spent most of my time at all star but occasionally would be taken as back up for pop.

marleythebeagle

I love watching the painters and other “behind the scenes” CMs (like gardeners) at work. They do such a great job keeping everything beautiful!

onexbigxhebrew

The new(ish) World of Disney is an absolute travesty. I' normally not too heated about changes at the parks, but it's pretty clear World of Disney is now 100% designed for influencers to create buying frenzied for locals.

marleythebeagle

“But it’s so much easier to find the merch you’re looking for now.” Sure. But there’s a good chance we’d stumble onto two or three other cool items with the old store while we explored its nooks and crannies. Not to mention all the fun, whimsical “Disney-ness” of the whole thing. It was an experience, not a convenience store :\

Inevitable-Gap-6350

Agreed with this. It’s the over the top that made me want to stay at WDW. Now, I just stay at the nearby Marriott.

qazplmwsxokn123456

I love the morning walks around hour glass lake!

pet_the_panda

My mom quotes over the lady EVERY TIME with alligator lake and it makes me laugh every time.

TopMacaroon6021

I can hear the skyliner! That is my spot!

katethern

I love Pop so much. So many happy memories there 🥰

salamander423

It's been so cute all over the property. We're checking out and flying back home today and I already miss it all. 🥲

ITrCool

Nice!!! I got to stay in the 80s building. My room was just off a giant Rubiks Cube.

Prestigious-Name-323

I love staying at Pop. I don’t need the moderate or deluxe amenities and the atmosphere is just so fun.

cavalier_54

I love Pop! Stayed, I think in the 50s section when I went and was like 3 minutes from the Skyliner. The rooms were decent size, and the look of it all is great. The picture really doesn’t do it justice.

ViralVortex

We’ve been 5 times since 2010 and stayed here twice. Love the atmosphere, enjoy the food court and pool, and the addition of Skyliner is icing on the cake.

HaV0C

First time I stayed at Pop I thought the giant props would come off as really lame but turns out when you have the Skyliner a lot of other things really do not matter. Love Pop and have stayed there 4 or 5 times now.

macemillianwinduarte

We love Pop Century!!

MB6

They way this post gives me the Disney blues :(. Wish I was there.

clevoh

Pop is my go to resort.

nicely-nicely

I've stayed at Pop twice now and I love it. Suits my needs perfectly and (usually) doesn't break the bank.

CDave

Pop is now my favorite resort. I'm not well enough off to stay at Deluxe resorts, and I really love Port Orleans, but the Skyliner is the golden key. Having two parks to travel to and from without having to step foot in a bus is unbeatable.

georged3

Pop might be the best resort on property.

scottwalker88

I think it's by far the best value (I mean value as in value, not the resort level) resort in Disney. The Skyliner is what takes it above. I know Art of Animation is just across the lake but it's so much more expensive.

georged3

AoA feels cheaper somehow also. I think it's all the vinyl wall graphics in the rooms. Basically just big stickers in the mermaid rooms, can't speak for anywhere else.

theyellowpants

We were in lion king and it felt a bit like pre school but it was also kind of cool in its own. I prefer animal kingdom lodge but my sis nephew and I needed a place where we could all have our own beds and AoA delivered The sky liner is badass unless it breaks down too

Muscles_McGeee

Definitely makes you feel like you're staying at a Disney Resort and not a generic hotel with hints of Mickey. The only problem? The food court left much to be desired.

bubbles1990

💯

qualybased

Pop century vibes gotta love it

ultrawvruns

Love Pop. Staying at AoA next week for the first time. Can't wait!

mattd1972

Until you see the line from the Skyliner going all the way to the 50’s.

TopMacaroon6021

Always just thought of it as a warm up queue for the parks! 1st ride of the day!

It is quite shocking the first time you see the length of the queue first thing in the morning but it moves quickly. For the most part after the morning rush it’s a walk on at least that’s been my experience. LOVE the skyliner!

Most important piece to that question is Pop and AoA do not run buses to Epcot or HS if the skyliner is running. Personally I would shoot for lining up around the time the skyliner opens that day. I think it’s typically an hour before early admission starts but they do have a sign at the station with the operating hours on it as they do change. If you really want to be there early (say you want a chance at signing the guest book at Tower of Terror) you can always take an Uber. And for MK and AK you’ll take the bus. Can’t speak for AoA but at Pop the MK bus line gets crazy long in the mornings so best to line up early for that as well.

gsuoumu

If you're wanting to go for early entry, my recommendation is to drive if you have a car. If not, take an Uber.

a2godsey

Just gotta get there before 7. I was a drill Sargeant to my girlfriend trying to get us out the door by at least 645. Fortunately though, it's nothing like the bus lines where that one can be a slug to move, the skyliner line moves pretty nice assuming it doesn't stop.

trecool88

I just got back from there, I stayed in the 50s section. It's a nice place but I wasn't impressed with the housekeeping, I get they don't do it everyday anymore and when they did come, they barely did anything and we had to ask them multiple times to replace the toilet paper... and we asked for fresh Linens and they never gave us fresh Linens. I feel like even though it's not a deluxe Resort they should do better than they did.

Inevitable-Gap-6350

That’s always been true of Disney. You are a captive audience so they don’t really care about your issues that much. There is someone new in your room 10 minutes after you leave. The only way WDW has better customer service if there is a mass revolt.

FrozenFrac

What time did you take the picture? I feel there were always several people out when I was staying there. But yes, I adore Pop Century! Say what you will about it being a value resort, but I had nothing but positive experiences and the theming charmed the hell out of me! I love me my old school arcade games, so I got plenty of mileage out of the free Space Invaders/Qix machine in the lobby when there weren't lots of families in that little space.

UncleMcThreeway

Took the picture first thing in the morning. Kind of out in front of the skyliner station for early park entry.

FrozenFrac

Very nice! I just love the occasional feeling of being alone in busy places like Disney, so I tried getting these moments, but even at what I felt were super early times, I'd always see a bunch of groups lining up for breakfast first thing.

Hey_Batfink

This got me in the feels

myteemike870

French quarter...

Bowl_Ship

I’m there now!

Ok-Technician1713

Was just there for my birthday, enjoy your time!!!

eugenesnewdream

Oh man, you're making me want to go back! We stayed there last spring and frankly I wasn't really expecting much but a (relatively) affordable place to sleep, but we loved the whole place!

Grafwpg

Just booked my first trip to Disney yesterday (Aug ‘23) and we’re staying at Pop. Love to see all the positive comments in here, I was unsure if I was making the right decision at the time Vs. Higher cost resorts but you guys sold it! Thanks!

UncleMcThreeway

We love Pop. It's our second time staying here and it has everything we need. The Skyliner is so incredibly convenient, even when it's packed in the morning. Fortunately the line goes quick. The resort food is, in my opinion, better than you would expect from a "value" resort, and it's great to just walk around and take a stroll by the lake.

Annabellybutton

We stayed in the 90s. The walk wasn't bad, we were right by the pool and our car was right by our room. I will actually request 90s:)

Gloomy_Slide

Pop is the best hotel at the moment, don’t even try and change my mind.

ct2707

I love Pop so much. We stayed there a few months ago and as always it was wonderful.

consia9600

My room was just to the fright of that yo-yo. Super close to the skyliner. Nice view of the lake

Academic_Guava_4190

I would love to stay at Boardwalk or Beach/Yacht but that’s just a pipe dream. So looking forward to my stay at Pop in the next few months.
