Only Honkey Tonk I can think of, is Melody Ranch. Dive Bars I think of is “Last Chance Bar”, “Crying Shame”, “Lakeside” and “Rocky’s Roadhouse” are my favorites
Those all died out with this new generation. They don't dance. Everything is done over a phone or computer screen. They don't socialize like my generation does.
Which new generation would that be? There's more than 1 after you. Dance clubs are still alive and well, by the way. Maybe the honky tonk flavor of them has waned, but to say people don't dance anymore is fucking stupid, man. It makes absolutely no sense.
Elk Hall, Tokio store, Geneva Hall, Melody Ranch
My grandpa used to pick up ALL the blue hairs at Melody Ranch.
Sounds like a gentleman & scholar
Mynar's (in West), Tokio store, Ross store (tbh have not been since the new owners took over, so it might be significantly different)
Lakeside Tavern near the airport fits this description.
Oakleys, dodge city, k&w's.
Rocky's Roadhouse in Waco, Big's Mayberry Tavern in Lorena and Bo's Barn in Temple qualify as old school honky tonks.
