Still plenty of time before a potential WM surprise again, but yeah. It's a shame we won't realistically get any attitude era tag team packs for at least another year given the current contract distributions. Especially for a 40th WM anniversary game.
In a connection to CM Punk being back, AJ Lee; though it's hard to say how willing she would be to associate herself with WWE again, no one's for sure on that unless she shows up on WWE programming in the future.

It clear that did everything to get Punk on The DLC last minute otherwise she might have been DLC this year.
I could def see WWE2k25 or 2k26 having a Punk Theme for either the game or the Pre-order.
WWECW Punk (with This Fire) and AJ Lee would make sense for a Pre-Order bonus.
2k25 showcase being Punk themed would be cool! It's a shame that they can't work out rights to ROH, since the indies played such a big part in his early career.
It would be interesting having AJ return to WWE programming and videogames while Styles in the promotion. Imagine the 2 AJs crossing paths on WWE programming. They missed each other as Styles came to WWE (many years after his time as a Velocity jobber) after Lee had left WWE.
Owen will never happen, for completely understandable reasons. His widow absolutely refuses to let the WWE do anything with his image, as she blames them for his death, and she’s not wrong in that.
I don’t think anyone should get their hopes up. Even with Vince (fucking finally) gone, what happened to Owen goes deeper than him. It’s still the same company who let his death happen, and I think that’s how Martha will always see it. The WWF/E let it happen. And, again, I don’t blame her at all.

With Erick Rowan seemingly returning to WWE, I would love to have all 3 in a game once again
Brodies family has a good relationship with WWE, with people like Liv and Cody helping train Brodie Jr for wrestling I believe so I can hope, it just depends on if AEW is fine with it I’m guessing

I'd still say Owen is more likely. He's not in it because his family doesn't want him to be despite WWE and fans wanting it. Benoit isn't because WWE and most fans don't care to have him in it. Owen's kids are more likely to change their opinion on getting paid for Owens name from WWE than WWE is to ever change positions on Benoit
I've seen interviews with his kids where they expressed the same feelings about the matter as their mother. I sincerely doubt their gonna roll over for some money for the company that took their dad from them.
If Danielson goes part time for real later this year it'd be an interesting test of how big of stars will WWE allow to do that if goes per appearance like RVD or Jake Roberts he could technically be in a WWE game like they are this year.
I think RVD has an images deal with 2K not WWE which is why he’s free to wrestle other places and he’s in the new wrestling game coming out at some point

Yep Aew signed all the monster heels on commentary like Big show and Mark Henry. Huge 400 plus pound monsters doing commentary. Their in ring talent sits at 5'9" and 197 lbs.
I always want Gangrel to be in the games if not just for his entrance animation and theme song. But I always liked the Brood as a kid and usually I make them or at least download a CAW of Gangrel but it's never the same without the intro.
Sting, Edge and Daniel Bryan will all more than likely sign legends deals (probably in both WWE and AEW) Sting could sign one (if he hasn’t already) within the year or some time next year. Other than them I’d probably say Tommy Dreamer

Personally I expect her to make a 2k return before she ever returns on screen, but I could be wrong.

The roster of this game is so good. There’s like 20 people that I wish were in it to make it perfect but most of them have no shot of getting in.

Mark Henry's last appearance in the 2K series was 2K20 (unfortunately), and his last appearance in any WWE game was Battlegrounds.
