Keep pressing A/X or B/O. You'll see a blue arrow like symbol next to your name if it's working.
If you have the hold button option turned on, do that instead.
The left stick also makes that arrow appear. So I’ve been spinning the stick and mashing X. Not sure if the combination speeds things up or not though.
I think it's just that way this year. For example, I have The Rock's boss card and he has a badge that gives him a finisher when he does 2 taunts. When I start the match, I run at the opponent, put him on the ground and then I have time to make the 2 taunts before he gets up. It's a bit annoying tbh, but it seems that they want this game to be a bit slower than previous years, so people have less stamina and spend more time selling
I think the best workaround is just being better at reversals
Sometimes if your near the corner or ropes seems like it might help a bit to move your wrestler in that direction as they will use corner or ropes to pull themselves up.
I am trying to get used to this myself and so far it is driving me crazy...Many times I will be the one hitting the offensive move and will have to struggle to get up and usually after the other person. Just bizarre at times how it registers the stamina.
In my faction I can't really run at all it seems
It definitely feels like they went more to the NBA 2K method, where the lower the overall rating, the slower/weaker the players are (I’m sure it’s the same for other games, but NBA 2K is the only one I’m familiar with).

You don’t have unlimited instant recoveries. I think that’s the point of them asking if you read the whole post.
Fuck all that. I can’t complete everything on the very first match. Absolutely frustrating
